After watching me play, Wilson promised to give me all the racquets I need. So long as I never play with Wilson again. They didn't want their name associated with my game. I now play with Babolat.
My dad is a pro and head dealer. I think he’s allotted two racquets a year, but he’s known the sales rep for a long time and she usually gives him whatever he wants because he gets a lot of sales. Head also gives him bags and other stuff for free.
Hey Ian I have a question for your consideration: How do you continue improving little by little each practice session when you don't get a lot of time to be on court? How do you transfer progress successfully from session to session? - For context I work a lot so when I do have energy it might be 1, maybe 2 times a week. Though I do notice the ones who are the better players get to play way more often.
How do you mentally prepare yourself to play to win (while staying kind)? Assume the player swings freely and loose while being consistent with spin. But playing it safe is the Plan A by extending the point hoping for errors so far. How do you break the ceiling and progress?
Ian - one of your best videos! Keep doing this please. One suggestion: This video needs a better title… “How to get sponsored” is not a great choice here as that question was the one that is probably least relevant to most of your audience.
I missed the stream, but thank you for answering my question! I feel a lot better about how "consistent I am!" I really appreciate the well-thought out and thorough response you gave to each of these, and I appreciate the break down of the angles. Apparently I'm really good at hitting the ball at a very specific angle, so I just need to get better at hitting the ball at a ever-so-slightly different angle! I love what you're doing on this channel, and if there is ever a way I can give back for the help you gave me here, I would like to. Give me a shout if you ever need/want some free podcast production or strategy consultations. You gave me some of your time, and I would like to do the same for you!
What a great idea with the live feed! Too bad I missed the live stream. Back in my days, I was never too crazy about the idea of sponsorship, besides the obvious economical merit point of it. Limiting myself to one brand, especially if it's to do with apparel always turned me off a little. I guess in today's world where the brands have so many variations of their products it makes much more sense. ZMM🍻

That backdrop is so cool.
Helpful Staff. Thanks Ian
Wow, dude. You actually made a legit video about this topic. I thought it was going to be a troll kind of vid. Thanks a lot. Gonna watch it tomorrow.

Great question, Alex!

What about for a tennis club?

Glad to hear that in your experience a club pro can get 2 shoes a year, 1 would be a bit awkward!
