Good documentary, but it felt rushed. I think they could have touched on more topics, and went more in depth explaining things. Nonetheless, it got the point across of how Ohio arguably represents American culture more than any other state in the US.
Really enjoyed this video, being born and raised in Cincinnati but now a resident in Kentucky, I am so proud that my heritage is in the Buckeye State. Go Bucks!!
""You should be glad that ladybugs are so small because they are such ferocious predators that if they were the size of puppies you wouldnt want to go outside" Thanks for the new phobia I hate it.
Does anyone know who the narrator is for this show? I want to say it sounds like Mariette Hartley who was well-known for doing the Polaroid commercials with James Garner.
Edison didn't invent the light bulb; It was invented many decades before he was even born. What Edison did do was to find a filament that didn't burn away like a matchstick.
I'm sure glad to see (after reading some of the comments), that others also felt, that the 'singing' that was done here, was quite "painful" to hear ! !
Here in Manila,Philippines we honor 2 famous Buckeyes citizen.both named Bill... W.H.Taft (Avenue) and Fort W.Mckinley now BGC.Thanks Lebron James..T.A.Edison,Wright Bro.,Neil Armstrong,John Rockefeller et al all O. H. I. O.Heroes ... You ROCK !!!..Rock en Roll Hall of fame.hehehe.
* Presenters discussing Ohio cities: "Cincinnati is an industrial city with hints of the south, Toledo is a blue collar city, Cleveland was built by the machinations of industrialists in the great lakes region, Dayton shouldn't exist."
I HATE the way marching bands play "Hang On Sloopy" at twice the speed it was recorded (or faster.) It makes you completely miss the message of the song's lyrics.
But it's so fun to play it at that speed. Gets the blood pumping, especially in larger groups. Playing songs slowly are more boring. Especially if you have the tuba part ):
I grew up in a town called Twinsburg. Until infidelity and substance abuse ripped our family apart. God bless the "old school." I love you Beth Zeatlow. We share the same birthday. I'll never forget.
My ancestors moved into Ohio and for generations lived there in the 1800’s.. interesting never been there, but my ancestors were there in the very beginnings.. they were born there before that Indian died...

Thank you for sharing this elucidating and interesting documentary.

I haven't been there since I was 12 years old. I'm 45 now and I feel drawn to go back. I don't know why.
Great overview of Ohio and to see friend, fellow Hudsonite and author, Ian ‘Sandy’ Frazier.😎HI😎
Ohioans have been here since the dawn of history... It's the heart of it all. ;)
hopewells even migrated away.

Awesome. Good work.
I'm from Ohio; knew some of this history. Thanks.
Just a random internet traveller passing by. Today I've accidentally learned about Ohio!
AND BORED TO DEATH....?
I'm from Ohio; my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and their children. Good state to live in. I like Kansas better: less snow.
I can’t wait to live in this great and historical State.
Edison didn't invent the light bulb; It was invented many decades before he was even born. What Edison did do was to find a filament that didn't burn away like a matchstick.
Why did they show so much of the circleville pumpkin show at the beginning. But then didnt even talk about it?

Proud of our OHIO history!!💖💖
born and raised in ohio and carolers have never come to my door 😝 born in Akron, raised in Findlay.❤️
People are too lazy or fat or prefer drinking to go Christmas caroling.
I grew up in a town called Twinsburg. Until infidelity and substance abuse ripped our family apart. God bless the "old school." I love you Beth Zeatlow. We share the same birthday. I'll never forget.
Why was the only mention of Canton just the very brief shot of the Pro Football Hall of Fame? Canton is a major Ohio city with a great history.
sure.
An amazing history.
I feel, thatsomething else needs to be done to share your "Ohio" songs !

Anybody in west Portsmouth, Ohio
YES, sadly.
The son and mom singing is super weird
awesome
KETTERING HAD COMMON SENSE. THAT SIMPLE.
I enjoyed it, but felt that the capital, Columbus, was practically ignored.
They could easily add another 200 minutes of history and cover all the cities and the smaller towns.
yep, the only capital on earth named after a sea captain who was lost at sea. WOW.
ohio!!!
I kinda always forget that not all of Ohio live in the Valley.
All of Ohio is in a low spot than the states around it; that's why it's called the Ohio Valley.
The ohio valley is the land region along the river
Good documentary, but why the singing couple? They're rather irritating.
reflection of buckeye mentallity. GO MICHIGAN!
