I've just started using Double Commander, I didn't know about the "hover over the directory folder names" feature till you mentioned it, that's nice, but what I'd really like to be able to do is manually type in the directory address bar so as to paste places I want to go. Do you know if I can set it to let me do that too? I'm looking through the preferences but they're long. Edit: Oh! Just right-click the directory. : 3

Krusader (another Norton Commander clone from KDE) is also pretty good, and the also classic Midnight Commander on the shell. I'm using all them three, Krusader, DoubleCmd and mc, depending on each current usecase and/or situation.

I used to use xplorer² as my orthodox file manager in Windows, but when I switch to mostly using Linux Mint I switch to Double Commander, since it would work there and also in Windows, which I still have to use a bit. And I like that the program releases an update snapshot almost every week.
It's also interesting to see how different people use a program. For example, I never use my mouse in DC, just hotkeys. If I don't recall a seldom-used command's shortcut, I just hit Ctrl+Shift+K to find it.
And I don't show main menu, tool bar, drive bar, or most other stuff, preferring a minimal UI.
