  • This is part 2 of a pest control session using the FX Impact Mk2 and Slugs made by ZAN Projectiles. The slugs are 37 gr and I have the Impact tuned to shoot them at 1036FPS and they are accurate! Here are some specs on the gear and rifle-
    FX Impact MK2 Power Plenum edition with 700mm Superior Heavy liner in .25 cal. I have installed the Huma transfer port, FX Slug Power Kit, Donny FL Ronin suppressor, and Saber Tactical accessories.
    The scope is an Athlon Ares ETR and I'm using a Side Shot scope cam mount with a GoPro Hero 7 Black and Eagle Vision lens.
    The rangefinder binoculars are made by SIG and they are the KILO 3000 BDX addition

    Nailed a starling the other day @ 118 yards. My personal best to date with the zan slugs. They seem quite accurate but kinda jam up some when magazine fed. But yes, the impact and sound were impressive. Great shooting, enjoying the video. Thanks

    Love your roadside hide. Appreciate the slow motion follow up of the shots and as always the audio smack of a well placed shot. it renforces the instant feed back confirmation you had applied all your marksmanship skills perfectly. Due to Covid air travel constent rule changes this is the second year I haven't traveled to Colorado for praire dog hunting. So Thanks for putting up your videos.

    Excellent buddy. The Zans are truly tier one. I've just installed the 720 kit (after modification mind) then upped my reg to 150bar, darn she sounds good. Been testing a heavy slug aswell & she hit the 97ftlb mark, not bad for a 25cal MK2 😁

    The sound is music to my ears! A sound that can’t be duplicated when trying to explain it! It’s louder than the report of the rifle. The squirrels or in this case prairie dogs are more apt to run from the sound of their buddies losing their minds than anything!! Keep’em coming before YT does something stupid. Thanks for the video, I picked up some 26gr and 33gr Zans to try in my impact. I was hoping the 26's would run on a same tune as 25kings just by upping the macro wheel. Unfortunately being very short, they tumble in the mag causing feed issues.

    • @dangolwinner
      @dangolwinner  2 года назад +1

      @stillair1- The shorter slugs are definitely prone to rotating in the mag, I have that issue in .30 cal.

    Man I enjoy your videos, just so well done Daniel. That 25 is really impressive for sure. I shot some .218 Javelin 26gr out of the G2 yesterday and they seemed to land left of pt of aim but grouped fairly well at 50yds. Next up are the Zan 25.5gr (.22) and I am hoping they do a little better. Farm permission is calling for pigeon dinner so I want to see how they do on the sky rats. I had put Hajimoto's improved air stripper in it and did suggested shroud vents. Noticed obviously tighter groups right away with pellets and it was good in stock form. Dirty air does have an effect on pellets. Still not all the way settled in on the single stage trigger but may play with it (per Haji's tutorial and some parts) Love that huge bolt handle on it to. Smacked a starling with a head shot at 55yards right after re-sighting (JSB Monster).

      @Bret Lawson- I really appreciate your support! I do put effort into creating the videos, and I enjoy the process. It is alway great to hear the positive feedback! I like the looks of the G2, It is packing some great features now. You will have to keep me posted on the sky rats! It’s funny how we can be picky about triggers but In the end we can still manage to make them work! Or learn to live with it! Thanks for leaving the comment, I truly appreciate it 🙏🏻

    Where is your first reg pressure set at on this one I am wanting to buy a slug barrel tention kit for my Impact M3 but don't know which cal. A 22 or 25 have both in pellet barrels which do you prefer for shooting prairie dogs in excess of 100 yes my .22 shooting 25gr fx pellets seem to have a slight edge in accuracy out to 100yds but don't have the brute knockdown power of the .25 shooting USB 33.95s shooting groundhogs at my place headshots with the .25 is always dead on impact but the .22 not always like the .25 but like I said the accuracy is a hair better in .22 but that's just shooting pellets anything you could coach me on as far as the slug barrels would be appreciated I noticed you seem to like the .25 better and don't look like you have any problems putting the smaller prairie dogs down also want to squirrel hunt with slugs too thank you and keep up the good videos and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us

    Hi Dan, another great demonstration of Slug power, Can I ask you if you don’t mind, 1: does the pin probe make a difference from using the high flow pellet probe and can it be used for pellets without switching back ( is your pin probe fixed or adjustable)
    2: I haven’t tried the zan slugs yet , do you think the 218 diameter in .22 would be ok with the 700mm superior liner , I am using jsb knockouts in 216 with good results but I would like something softer for better expansion.

    • @dangolwinner
      @dangolwinner  2 года назад

      @Peter TLR- I feel that I get better performance when using the pin probe over the high flow (modified factory version) probe. Yes it will make a difference in seating depth in the barrel when going from pellets to slugs. The pellets are not so fussy though and it’s more critical to have the pin probe tuned for the slugs base. The probe I use is adjustable and I just set it so the projectile clears the transfer port. I have some 23 gr 218 slugs I just got a few days ago, I can keep my tune the same and shoot them and let you know how they perform! I have shot .218 before and they seem to perform good. I can get back to you on that one though in a day or 2. Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻
