You are so comfortable and great with fabric. It’s no big deal to you. I’d be sweating trying to get the backing fabric cut perfectly straight. Love watching you work with fabric. Split stitch is a new one for me. Love printing on fabric and using it but you’re the master of the technique. Thank you for sharing. Just hearing the thread being pulled through the fabric was wonderfully relaxing. Yuck to the neighbors.
Rachel, Printing on your fabric is such a great idea!! Love the results. Adding your stitches is the perfect compliment to that cover. I really enjoy watching you stitch, TFS.
What a beautiful journal cover that would be! Just stunning truly!! We’re not integrating here in Southern California …and I’m ok with that! Until we see a significant decline in cases …I’m happy to keep my family inside and healthy! xo
We're not doing too much. We're not going tonight as we felt there were too many of us even though we were going to eat 'socially distanced' outside in a field. Stay safe! Thank you so much!
Hi Rachel! I have been watching, I never miss one of your videos. I just love everything you do but I especially enjoy the sewing and you have such amazing fabrics and laces. You are the one who deserves a medal for your talent and many splendid projects!
Geez....you have more patience than me lovey... i would be saying.. hey don't mind the kids playing but not at those hours of the night 😕 It is really cold here in Brissie....everyone is in their hoodies and uggs...lol I did not know that (about separating your threads from the centre, i shall do that next time i do some embroidery, thanks Rach xo) Love this project, so pretty lovey xo 💖
Absolutely fabulous! Can’t wait to see what you use it for. So happy to hear your dinner out went well. In western Canada things are starting to open up. We are doing well and enjoying our “bubble families “. In my case that is my daughter’s family. Keep smiling. Hugs and blessings,🤗❤️🇨🇦
By far, one of my most favorite of your videos!! Love LOVE watching you sew!!! You are skilled with that needle!!! My great grand and grand was too!!! Reminds me a lot of them.... TY!
I love this cover. Thanks for the tip about separating the thread. How I always did it was start at one end and put part in my mouth, hold the other end and the with my other hand untwist the end. I like your method better. I love your needle book. Have you done a tutorial on how you made that? I would love to make one for myself. Or could you just show the needle book in detail what you did? Thanks. I just love your videos. Love hearing about your everyday life too and you chatting with Lulu. I’m in Ohio USA and we are slowly opening up since May 1. It was our anniversary yesterday so we braved it and went out to a restaurant. TFS! ❤️
It has been a loooong time since I last embroidered! This project has inspired me to dig out my floss......I used to love to embroider especially in Autumn and Winter, Just loved your touch and color pallet. You craft like I cook: whatever I feel like doing at the time with whatever I have handy...and no instructions. All is green here in Illinois...still inside most of the time...except for landscaping in the yard, All of you stay well & be careful out there!😎
Here in U.K still can only meet one person from another household so still cannot have our sons and grandchildren in our home. Supposedly on 28th May another change hopefully see our families it’s been hard not to hug my grandchildren. My mother-in-law is 88 and we cannot see her. Some shops are opening.Used to live in a flat so understand about noise it’s been very hot here last few days. We hope our lockdown eases up soon. Stay safe love listening too you talk it’s like we know you and we’re in your classroom just having chats and coffee. Thankyou.💕.xxf
Oh this is beautiful. Your stitching is awesome. I can’t even remember the last time I did embroidery!! It was probably when I was in my 20s... haha so a long long time ago as I’ll be 70 in August!!! I live in central Pennsylvania in the US. We go to the least restrictive phase of green on Friday. Stores such as Hobby Lobby have been open for inside shopping the last two weeks. Restaurants will go to inside dining this Friday plus I can get my haircut. It’s been 6 months since I had a haircut so surely needs it. My last scheduled haircut was the week we went on lockdown in Mid/March.
It's great things are opening up. I still haven't had my hair cut, I'll wait a little longer. I've been doing my own colour whihc has worked out well. Thank you so much!
I love seeing the work you do with fibers. My passion! Your ideas inspire me to want to be more creative. I also like seeing the mixed media of the fiber and paper combinations. Thanks for sharing and bringing more inspiration to my days
You have created a monster! I have been thinking what to do for a cover for the journals I’m making as a gift to my students. This is great! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely loved the sewing. That will be a really lovely journal cover or whatever you decide. So relaxing and such a fun project to do. Stay safe. ❣️❣️
Beautiful sewing project Rachel. ❤️ Love hand stitching and enjoyed watching you stitch this and talk about things. In BC, Canada we are in Phase two of reopening. Salons, restaurants, stores can reopen, gatherings of 10 or less with social distancing practices in place. Masks are to be worn when social distancing is not possible, especially indoors. Interesting times. See u tomorrow. 💕🇨🇦🤗💞
This is so lovely. I so love the hand stitching, which is making me want to learn/try it. My OCD took over with the fabric of the book not being straight, but a great project. I love the hemp fabric. I love the printed fabric! Well done!!
This is beautiful!! Some of my most precious possessions are pieces of needlework my grandma made. I picture her sitting in her rocker and stitching away! You are creating heirlooms to be passed down!
No, no, .Rachel...it's you who deserves the medal....with luck you will interest more people to take up a needle....before hand stitching is a lost art. Hugs and thanks, Carol
Love the slow stitching. I have been making yo-yos to use on my cover and my snippet. I love hand stitching. Not only is it beautiful but very relaxing. I need to make a needle book, please do a tutorial.
This is brilliant and beautiful! You are so clever Rachel! I'd love to have some of your gorgeous hemp. Hope you offer it and lace in your shop again some day.
I love your collaging, but I also love your stitching. You are right you can’t put vellum or fabric in the Epson. I almost broke my second epson trying different papers in my printer. Thanks for sharing 😍🌴
Love the sewing projects. I used to stand behind my mom's chair and watch her stitch. I have learned to appreciate the stitching and also love doing them, tho I haven;t done any lately. I live in the U.S. and we are slowly starting to open up some, tho my state hasn't opened up much yet. I love being home tho and watching you!!! Thanks Rachel!!
I love being at home too. The only thing I missed was socialising a little. I have no desire to go out shopping. I do miss the antique markets! I hope there will some soon! Thank you so much!
I use freezer paper to back fabric to run it through my printer. Cut your freezer paper and fabric 8.5 x 11, iron the freezer paper (shiny side) to the back (wrong side) of the fabric and it will go through your printer easy peasy! The freezer paper pulls off the fabric easily and is reusable many times.
I didn't know it's reusable. I re-use my sprayed cardstock many times before i have to spray it again. It's easier for me as i would have to buy freezer paper continually on the web. Thank you so much!
Love that stitching...would make an adorable little journal cover. We’re about to start phase I opening in MA.... I don’t feel confident about it at all..but it helps me to hear about how it’s going for you! I really miss my friends and our dinner parties!
You do have beautiful stiching! Would you consider Printing and selling your copied fabric. I'm not sure if my printer can do that. I love the look of that! I"ll try it!
Well maybe if I watch enough of your sewing & embroidery videos I will become an excellent seamstress!! It’s so wonderful seeing you transform something flat into something with depth & texture! Hope it’s catching! Haha! Do you mix all of threads together, by color, in your boxes?? Or do you separate by types (wool, silk, perle & 6-strand) & then into color? Thanks!
Rachel if someone doesn't embroidery, couldnt they just add little seed beads? Yes it's going to be one of those vids with lots of comments. Lol! You're inspiring ideas again!
Kathleen Selig I once did a little lavender bag and on cover, I embroidered a lavender flower with French knots and seed beads. Seed beads are wonderful.
What type of printer do you have. I am finding that just printing one digital collection is using up all my colored ink. I have an HP2640. Maybe I need a new one. You seem to be able to print a lot. I would appreciate you letting me know. I have more of your collection I need to print lol.
I have 2 printers, I feel more secure with 2, lol! I have an HP8715, the ink is expensive for that one but I joined the instaink program which makes it very economical. I also have an Epson ET2750, that one has the eco tanks so you can print a lot. I hope this helps!
"Like letting chickens out of a cage - too much fun" - yet again, you make me giggle - thank you Rachel! On a serious note though, I wish I'd been able to do interrogations for my HSC, rather than writing, it probably would have changed my destiny! Have a great weekend
When I studied in Florence I was interrogated in Italian, it was tough. For our final exams there was a panel of professors, it was very scarey. I'm very shy (was even more so when i was young) so speaking in front of many people is tough. I admire Italian kids as it's part of their life and i think it gives them confidence. Have a great weekend!
love the hemp, I cant find it in the UK - and I did sit through the video, very happily, so you know where to send the medal lol. It will make a fab little cover, or add to more fabric to make a larger cover - love it xxx
Rachel, what kind of cloth did you print on, and are you going to possibly put this particular title page for your book in a printable??? did you make your needle book as a video???
No I made that needlebook years ago. I will put those pages in a printable I just have to put it all together. I just printed on an old cotton pillowcase.
We are still on lockdown but they have opened stores and bars and restaurants however no Memorial Day parades. No large crowd gathering events. They canceled the jazz festival and maybe our Ohio State Fair.
I really enjoyed watching you slow stitch. It is lovely. Why don't you use it to make a needle book and do a tutorial. You could explain the details and what is included in a needle book. It would be something different.
I really enjoyed watching you stitch today and love what you made! Lovely and will make a beautiful journal cover! You haven't shown your sewing project that is the long strip on the spool (not sure what it is called) in a while. Have you finished it and I missed it? I was reminded when you showed the “hole” the other day - I thought you were going to put it on the strip somewhere. Did it not make the cut?
Rachel, I have a question regarding the roman numerals on the fabric you stitched (which was beautiful). You mentioned that the book was published in 1712. the roman numerals on the fabric are MDCCXIL which doesn't seem to make sense. I am good up to 1710, then the last 2 letters are confusing. The L usually stands for 50, so what is it doing as the last letter. Now I am wondering if there is something I am not aware of, or if this was printing error. Do you have any insight?
I live in an apartment with someone above me, 3 children, 1 adult and her friends. It is horrible what noise can be made day and night. I can completely understand.
Hate to say this but I would be concerned what that water the upstairs neighbors threw onto your terrace was used for and what nasty stuff was in it.🤢 Hope they stopped doing it
You are so comfortable and great with fabric.
I know they are grose! I don't worry about the fabric being straight I have an aversion to the ruler! It will look of in the end! Thank you so much!
Linda Sonnenberg is right! Exactly what I was thinking - this is brilliant! Loving all this stitching😊 in the paper world.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing 🌻 Thank you for the information about hand sewing it was enjoyable.
Thank you so much!
Rachel, Printing on your fabric is such a great idea!! Love the results. Adding your stitches is the perfect compliment to that cover. I really enjoy watching you stitch, TFS.
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous fabric piece and I love watching you doing embroidery and sewing! Very relaxing and beautiful! TFS the inspiration!
Thank you so much!
Once again I love it, sat through it all and no need for a medal....I love watching you stitch and create.
Thank you so much!
I love how you printed on fabric and your embroidery over your printed flowers. Lovely
Thank you so much!
Hi Rachel! I have been watching, I never miss one of your videos. I just love everything you do but I especially enjoy the sewing and you have such amazing fabrics and laces. You are the one who deserves a medal for your talent and many splendid projects!
I need to sew more so am thankful for the sewing prompts! Thank you so much!
Love listening to you and watching. Your voice is nice. Sorry about your neighbors.
They are quite annoying! Last night they ran around until 1 am! Thank you so much!
My brother told me it's really cold. he said he even had to put a jumper on and turn the heating on, lol!!! Thank you so much!

Your embroidery thread so neat and organized. All mine in a large plastic bag all jumbled up. Adorable cover.

So beautiful Rachel. I would be really nervous about printing direct onto fabric, but I absolutely loved what you did. 😊
I am a little nervous but I know my HP can take it so I persevere. Thank you so much!
Very beautiful work. I learn something new everyday from all of your ladies. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
This is lovely Rachel. You have me thinking I should try some slow stitching! Hugs Maggie ❤️🤗🇨🇦❤️
You should! Thank you so much!

Absolutely loved this piece. Will enjoy seeing what you end up using it for. Just so lovely!
Thank you! 😊
I really love what you did. You could make so many great covers that way.
I always forget to print on fabric. Be careful with your Epson, I'm not sure it will take fabric. I did it on my HP. Thanks Sas!
No, no, .Rachel...it's you who deserves the medal....with luck you will interest more people to take up a needle....before hand stitching is a lost art. Hugs and thanks, Carol

Love the hand stitching. I think you should teach some classes on the different stitches you use! Great idea right?!
Hahaha, I don't feel I'm an embroidery expert so i might teach the wrong method, lol! Thank you so much!
I really love the way all the stitching looks on the fabric. So pretty.
Thank you so much!

Each episode becomes my new favorite! I really enjoyed watching you stitch and listening to you chat. This looks lovely! 💗
Thank you so much!
I’m so glad the evening was a success! I’m always amazed on how a few extra stitches brings life to a piece of fabric. Great episode.
You're so right! I'm always worried about ruining things but in reality you can just remove any stitches you don't like! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Rachel. I love the printed fabric and the embroidery on it. A relaxing project. Blessing x Mariana UK xx
Thank you so much!
I love what you made today Rachel, I want to try printing on fabric, it looks wonderful xxx💕
It's really cool. I always forget to do it. Thank you so much!
I love your collaging, but I also love your stitching. You are right you can’t put vellum or fabric in the Epson. I almost broke my second epson trying different papers in my printer. Thanks for sharing 😍🌴
Good to know i will continue to put them in my HP. Thank you so much!
Another great video 😊🤗

Love that stitching...would make an adorable little journal cover. We’re about to start phase I opening in MA.... I don’t feel confident about it at all..but it helps me to hear about how it’s going for you! I really miss my friends and our dinner parties!
we miss them too! We were like naughty children at my friend's house!!! I hope you are well and safe! Thank you so much!
You do have beautiful stiching! Would you consider Printing and selling your copied fabric. I'm not sure if my printer can do that. I love the look of that! I"ll try it!
I could do that, just message me on etsy to remind me. Thank you so much!
Beautiful

I noticed your beautiful needle book that includes lovely embroidery. I’ve been wanting to make a fabric traveler’s notebook cover.
Thank you so much!
Love how you did the slow stitching and embroidered the flower. Definitely going to make myself a needle book with your idea today.
Thank you so much!
Hi rachel. This turned out so beautifully. I find it so relaxing to watch you stitch like this. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Turned out so pretty! I love the printed fabric. Thanks Rach!
Thank you so much!
I agree. It turned out beautiful!! So talented. :) tyfs!

Kathleen Selig I once did a little lavender bag and on cover, I embroidered a lavender flower with French knots and seed beads. Seed beads are wonderful.
Yes of course you can add seed beeds or applique a vintage embroidery.

Wow that printing on fabric is awesome. Where did you get the hemp fabric? Thank you for sharing. Judy in Grand Ronde, Oregon
I have a large stash of it as it's typical here in Europe. Thank you so much!
love the hemp, I cant find it in the UK - and I did sit through the video, very happily, so you know where to send the medal lol. It will make a fab little cover, or add to more fabric to make a larger cover - love it xxx
It must be a European (continent) thing. Thank you so much!
Rachel, what kind of cloth did you print on, and are you going to possibly put this particular title page for your book in a printable??? did you make your needle book as a video???

It didn't make the cut yet, lol! I haven't finished it as I'm all over the place! Thank you so much!
Is this the spray adhesive you were talking about to try with the epson? I wonder if my Kodak would take it?
Yes that's the one. I haven't tried it in my Epson, I just do it in the HP

Thank you so much!
I live in an apartment with someone above me, 3 children, 1 adult and her friends. It is horrible what noise can be made day and night. I can completely understand.
They are so noisey!
Love it! I’ll expect my medal in the post 😂😂
Thank you so much!
I found that needle threader at Joanne in the US. But I have not been able to get it to work.
The postman always rings twice👀.
😁💜👍🏻
I had loud people next door my husband got me ear plugs and now I can sleep like a baby.
I may need some of those!
❤️❤️❤️ 🙂 xx
Thank you so much!
Hate to say this but I would be concerned what that water the upstairs neighbors threw onto your terrace was used for and what nasty stuff was in it.🤢
Hope they stopped doing it
It's totally grose! They haven't done it since, fingers crossed!
