Hey Jim, since I've done quite a few reviews for Kansept, with them having provided these, I reached out and asked them about their stainless Damascus. They replied back that it was truly Damascus and not simply an etched stainless. They stated it was from 9CR and 440C. They also mentioned that the process was similar to that of Damasteel, although not by that trade name. Hope this helps with the question about the components of the Havorn model. Thanks and great to see you reviewing this model!

I just bit into a Spartan Harsey and a Medford Praetorian, so my knife budget is shot for a little while. But I have to admit, I actully really like the way this one looks. It's on the short list.

Jim, thank you for taking a look at the Havørn. I am thrilled that it has left a positive impression.
On the note of the mill pattern on the clip, take a look at the Echis K1071a3 and a4. Kansept did a remarkable job of matching the mill pattern that I designed for it from body to clip.
Again, thanks for your kind words.

Their Damascus is similar to damasteel, but a 440c mix. I believe it was MC that went pretty in depth in that. Either him or stassa. But it’s actually a very usable Damascus.

Jim Skelton...i remember what seems like a decade ago, you did a video about the Reese Weiland Large Rastor...how would that thing hold up today? It was that video that got me watching knife videos like i was a drug addict and knives were my buzz of choice. Thank you for all you do...👊

@@EtotheFnD woooooo yeah that was a while back wasn’t it lol. I wish I still had that knife. Reese worked so damn hard on it. I would expect it to be exactly as it was, his level of quality wouldn’t make me expect anything less. 👍. And Thank you for sticking around for so long!

Is Djinn the same designer of the Ketuo Griffin?

I am not. The Havørn and the Echis are my first two ventures into licensed design collaborations. Both are with Kansept, along with one more that should be coming in 2025.

Jim, can you please do a nostalgic video for those of us who have been following you for 10+ years. On where the original greats are today. That amazing sebenza 21 with the Dama and crazy handle, big red, that beautiful Jon Graham with green timascus, the Battle, Tighe/Pirela Bengal and on and on and on and on?!
