I’m 52. I’ve had Dewalt my whole life. Stay DeWalt Milwaukee is definitely a top brand, but I really believe in Dewalt it seems like they’re finally trying to up their game and I appreciate someone like you in their corner we need more DeWalt nuts
I primarily use Milwaukee, and I agree. In real world practice between rough-ins and service calls there isn't realistically going to be any noticeable difference in performance in Dewalt or Milwaukee. To be honest, I like my 12v tools a lot except for rough-in. So the power isn't necessary most the time. Stick with what is economical and makes the most sense for you. Yes, Dewalt lied, but all of these companies are guilty of that.
I’ve had Dewalt since 94. Stuck with this brand because it gets it done for me every time. I’m glad you always tell it like it is, when it comes to when and how the tool should be used in its application.
Finally someone with real common sense of daily tool use. 99% of the screw I drive or 2/2.5 never drive 10” with a driver that's just stupid. Awesome revi Amen surrendered my life 24 yes ago more on fire for Jesus now then ever. God bless
Im on the milwaukee and dewalt platforms. To me this dewalt 860 with the 1.7 powerstack is better then my gen 4 with 3.0 HO battery. For some reason the gen 4 hurts my wrist with the 3.0 batterry since it sticks out so far it ruins the balance so even though its slightly lighter its worse . The 860 with the small 1.7 powerstack is balanced and vibrates less and stays a little cooler. The ability to control the light is a bonus as well.use your impact all day in the heat, and turning off the let contributed to the tool staying cooler. The 1007 drill is a beast with the best clutch ive used on a hammer drill. And this is coming from someone who owns mostly milwaukee tools. Also the 870 is about to drop and its supposed to be a milwaukee surge killer, we will see
Thank you for sharing your experience as a person who has tried both brands. I enjoyed reading your comment. I was using the DCF860 today and the 1.7ps is still so powerful with it and really light.
I feel exactly the same way. I just got the 860 and I love it. I've had the 891 and they're both monsters for what they're designed for. The power stack 1.7 is my favorite battery across all platforms.
There was only main reason why I bought my DeWalt 961 is because of nut busting especially on rusted nuts such as cars , big rigs, tractors , dozers , loader's. Most cases Milwaukee was always in front for nut busting and hard core drilling . Seldom DeWalt was king . The main craze for the impact wrenches was the reverse impact wrenching for nut releasing not so much driving.
@@ChristianElectrician your welcome my friend . Keep up the good work , try not to work too hard though , it can be confusing and frustrating on these researches . Doing a damn good job 👍
Nice video, brother. I have older DeWalts and Milwaukees. I also have some makita, bosch, ridgid, etc. I know I'm gonna catch some flack when I say this, but right now my biggest platform is the Brushless 1+ from Ryobi. I use my tools daily. I haven't had any issues in the past 2 years, except for the 21° framing gun and it's "safety" features. The Ryobi isn't as comfortable in your hand, but I promise it keeps up on the job site. Huge platform and half the price. I've been considering another platform, and you're pushing towards DeWalt. The Milwaukee framing gun seems like the best one out there (that's the main thing that stopped me from DeWalt), and Ryobi is 2nd. The brad nailers, Ryobi is #1. Although my pneumatic DeWalt brad nailer destroys them all. PSA: can we please make batteries compatible with all tools and no adapters!! ALL of us use to buy the best tool for the job (regardless of brand) when everything was corded. Don't lie, you know you did too (unless you're under 30). Make all tools great again!
You're good with Milwaukee or Dewalt. When I worked with all the old timers at a City College as a student worker (years ago), they used corded tools, and just as you said, they bought the best tool for the job regardless of brand.
Well said, I started with dewalt in my apprenticeship which was 6 years ago, last few months I’ve tried makita lxt and milwaukee, I regret it, the dewalt battery platform is unbeatable. DeWalt is king.
O yes I’m staying team Dewalt for sure they’re always reliable and 🙌🏻 have never let me down. I can’t wait to get my hands on a dcf860 and the dcf961 I’m currently saving up to get them.
I bought 2 Milwaukee batteries 2 years ago 8 amp high output and started failing . Never ever had this issue with DEWALT. I only used the batteries once a week btw
I've tried rigid Makita Milwaukee DeWalt, The most versatile most powerful tool, tool for tool is absolutely the Milwaukee You cannot beat it. It has durability strength and a pretty good warranty always gets the job done. 27 year plumber here
Thanks for sharing, I got guys that say otherwise for Dewalt and Makita. I appreciate you guys sharing. Bottom line is, the tools these days are solid. Especially Dewalt and Milwaukee
The 1.7 powerstack is the best battery available and it’s not close. The smallest size with big power. It’s to bad the LiPos are gonna be done but I’m looking forward to the sales for sure 👍🏼
I switched back more to dewalt from makita when the powerstacks came out because I also got the right angle drill since makita didn't drop one yet and the milwaukee died alot on my boss and friend 18v hole hawgs up to 18v super hawg. Premature failures. Got the 891, 900, 850, 999 hammerdrill lol, Sawzall, oscillator, a skillsaw I need to change for right hand and some other random stuff. Still have a milwaukee framing nailer and bandsaw and makita bunch of stuff but I'll probably change them sooner or later since makita hasn't been competitive for shit and milwaukee is China sounds like. But I'll take my time and try to sell them to fund more yellow 😊
I have two 887’s that won’t die. The triggers on dewalt are second to none! Milwaukee has a little more power but not a great trigger. Also , dewalt is far more reliable than Milwaukee over time.
I just switched back to DeWalt. Last time I bought Milwaukee was before they were bought out. The batteries are just total junk. I got a collection of m18 bricks. They fit sloppy in the tools and the impacts kill them. DeWalt has the better battery retention and selection.
I have the DCF921 and the DCF961. Why? Because one's compact with the power of a mid torque, and the other is a mid torque with the all the torque a 1/2-inch socket will take. As a home garage guy, what else do you need? A next-gen Milwaukee stubby would also be fine, but then you'd need M12 and M18. Dewalt makes garden tools and basically everything you'd need as a homeowner is under the 20V architecture.
@@ChristianElectrician yes but you already have the 8 AMP POWER PACK Battery so get the BARE TOOL unless you need the Bag and additional CHARGER and another power pack heck Probably by KMAS they will probably be coming out with a POWER STACK and PACK DEAL
I agree with what us said about impact doing its job however dewalt is always late with technology such as auto shutoff on the drill or the hydraulic impact. Dewalt just last to implement these. I am still waiting for dewalt hydraulic impact dcf870. Should be out soon. Just kinda hard keep waiting for dewalt to catch up..
Milwaukee copied Dewalts tri beam light on the Impact with gen 4. They each play catch up in different ways. Milwaukee is just raw power. Dewalt is powerful but practical. Check this out. I have an atomic one hand recip saw. The Milwaukee one hand recip saw can't even stand up like the Dewalt, unless it has a 6ah battery. It's more powerful than dewalt, but Dewalt focused on the purpose of having an atomic one had recip saw. It can stand upright and fit in tiny spots. If I need a bigger recip saw I use my 2 handers that 60v or my deep cut band saw. They go back and forth. I like my American owned Dewalt company. Check out the new 5-in-1 DXL Modular Storage System from Dewalt, it's awesome. Literally just dominated the packout.
One other thing to note is the milwaukee gen 4 impact driver is having failures and milwaukee is ignoring it. So, the dcf860 makes sense in that regard also.
@ChristianElectrician I understand but what about after 5 years? I have tools older than 5 years. Torque test channel I think is on number 5 with that 4th gen.
@Bendeezul I have a gen 4 too, so I'll monitor how it goes for the next year or however long it lasts. Something can be said that if most of the construction workers are using that impact, then that might increase the failing ratio. I'm just trying to be fair, as I don't have personal evidence for that claim. However, I've seen other channels burn them up as well as the TTC video about having 4 of them. There is definitely consensus for Milwaukee gen 4s burning up in the power tool community, I just haven't had it happen to me yet. Not saying it won't.
@@ChristianElectrician I still rock m12 ratchets basically because of their shape and trigger. I bought a Milwaukee 2767 3 days after they came out. It's been through the ringer but it hasn't met a nut it couldn't conquer. That's being in the diesel heavy haul industry. So, I'm not used to hearing repetitive failures in Milwaukee tools. When I do hear about defects, I'll take a little less power before a defect. Your point about what you would use the dcf860 for is spot on. It's faster at what it should be used for. If my 2767 dies I'll go with the DeWalt. I really like DeWalts battery retention. Most of my m18 batteries have come apart before they were dead. They were pretty disappointing. It just seems to me that DeWalt is focusing more on overall quality instead of playing the all out numbers game. I would also stick to the DeWalt dcf921 before I went with the Milwaukee Gen 2 stubby as you need to buy the new 5.0 batteries to reach rated torque. Just things I have been noticing. I like consistency over warranty. Harbor freight has a great warranty. Doesn't mean I want to drive up there in the middle of a job to replace stuff lol.
