Love seeing these real life vlogs from real Africans on the continent. Reminds me so much of the Caribbean where I live and vlog
Where in the Caribbean are you? I live in tge virgin Islands

Wow! Love everything about Ghanaians food, culture, thanks jasmine for this video. Viewing from kenya 🇰🇪. I will visit Ghana and do some vlogs with you and wodemaya 🤗.
I love Kenya people 🇬🇭❤
I am looking forward to that.
For me, this is different than most. Better than most. Well done! Shopping for and buying fresh seafood at the fish market and then preparing what looks to have been a very delicious meal. You brought me the sights and sounds of the fish market. The not so common item, the octopus. Guys (fishermen?) hanging around the stalls, the canoes coming back to port etc. You cleaned, seasoned and cooked the ingredients. Then you send me off with that dish. What looked like Kenkey with assorted tasty seafood proteins.
You definitely know what you are doing on RUclips. Again, well done!
Thanks so much brother ❤️
Jasmine I enjoyed this video so much from start to finish, reminds me of my home Jamaica..looking forward to visiting Ghana one day..oh and Aisha is too cute 🤗🤗
So glad u did, looks like i need to visit Jamaica too xx
@@JasmineAmaa you will not regret it i promise that 👍🏾
@@JasmineAmaa Jamaican Beauty is right, U will not regret visiting Jamaica!! We are an awesome people..... we are Ghanaian!! Wode Maya wants to go too!! 😁 🇬🇭 🇯🇲 ☀
Looks just like Kingston ,Jamaica markets .
@@JasmineAmaa Jasmine, I would love for you to visit my island, Jamaica, and share your experience with us. And learn about @Bujubanton too.
The fish market was very interesting. Thank you for taking us along. Great video😊
Thank you for reminding me that Ghana is a real culinary destination! Ghanaian cuisine 🍲🍚🍢🍗🍖🍤🍙!!
You have now got a masters degree of bargaining in the Ghanaian markets. You had a good bargain. Dressing extremely well to the local markets sometimes attracts higher prices on the wares that you would like to buy.
You r very right and when they hear ur ascent
That’s absolutely true. Some of them did try to mark it up but I bargained 🥰💕
Absolutely. They judge your income levels based on appearance. Price by atrire
That's right. You have to dress down when going to the Ghanaian market. ;)
All organic Fish well seasoned too, thanks Jasmine 👌
U r welcome xx
Ayisha has such a sweet smile. This video is nostalgic and makes me feel home sick looking at the fresh fish.
This is only the second video of yours that I've watched so far but I'm hooked and have subscribed 😊 I studied abroad in Ghana in 2018 for 4 months and your videos transport me back to West Africa. Thank you so much for your content which is true, authentic, and typically intriguing, getting to the very roots and beauty of the country. God bless 💛!
I like everything about the video & most especial you look very very naturally, very beautiful environment..
Africa is really heaven on earth..🙏🙏🙏I blessed God I'm African🙏🙏🙏
Woww look at fish.
Love fish in the Caribbean.
This reminds me of the Island
Hmm you are teasing some of us living in Europe
hawker mbgjro 😋😋💕
Jasmine, thank you so much for showing us some real African life!! This is the real heartbeat of African culture in my opinion and it is beautiful. It is colourful in so many ways. Our children need to experience this. African Americans can learn alot about their history from this and African Caribbeans will relate to this. This is also a huge tourist attraction that is usually only appreciated by cultured white tourists. I love the fact that more and more of us are appreciating our natural African culture. 💖
Auntie Ama
You make me remembered when 1 was a young boy in the early 60s at Cape Coast. Every Saturday morning I picked a small bucket and go to see some of my families who are fishermen and they take the bucket and dipped it into the live fish on the boat and give it back to me. I take it home and prepared fanti fanti with some of the fish.
I don't think I can ever forgive u for doing this to my tastebuds at the end of the video.. I literally swallowed my saliva on some.. 😋😋.. #sigh 😷.. Let me go 😴.. Maybe I'll wake up feeling better🙈.. Dope video
I love your videos, it really gives me alot of Knowledge about Ghana and the Culture that our people live in that country..im also planning to buy a house in Ghana next year..i really do appreciate the insight Jasmaine..
Jasmine, One thing I like about your videos is you take us with you whiles shopping 🛒 and is great to see most places.. food looks delicious 😋
Giant squids, never seen squids that big. I am loving the fish market. Fish soup and fufu is my favorite.
This is very cool 😎 and I can't wait to try this delicious meal 😋 and very fresh 😋 😀
I love 💘 fish and they are very healthy 😋 😍 😊 ❤
Lovely fish market. i know the place years back. Lets pray offshore oil will not be discovered
Where is it located please
I appreciate you noting that they are "speaking the Ga LANGUAGE in the background" and not Ga "dialect".
My husband is Ga and proud ❤️
Hopefully Ghana doesn’t become too commercialized. The simplicity here is just beautiful.
thanks for sharing this video. I live in a port in Mexico. I send you a hug from Jalisco Mexico.
María Castillo sending hugs right back 🥰

It was a great surprise to see your quotes on the end this video! I’m certain you can make it to 50k this year. Follow your bliss ❤️.

Oh wow I wish I was there with you 😂 thanks for sharing this is amazing 🇺🇲🇬🇭
Jasmine you be cooking Girl 😁!!! Watching you is going to teach me how to cook Ghanian food for my fiancé (he's Ghanian 😌) Loved the video as usual 💕
that is cheap considering everything here is by the pound. Those 6 fish earlier would have cost 3x times that amount of 180 ghs here in the u.s
Jasmine Ama your food looks delicious. Much love and respect from Trinidad and Tobago.
Cephil Hodge thanks hun, it really was xx
Your lil sister is really shy and beautiful as well. I love videos of Ghana markets. Great job Ms Jasmin Ama. Much love form the USA.💯👊🏾
That's amazing, all that fish for $20 bucks! In states about 7 filets of Talapia is over $10.00.
Really like your dressing and the boots for the terrain, love fresh fish, making missed Ghana a lot ❤️❤️❤️
❤️
The fish!!! Oh my god!! I have to find you,I swear. Just to give me a tour. I LOVE fish. Every time I see a new video of you,you look more more at home. You are back Where your soul belong... HOME.
Very exciting with the variety of fish. I am coming back home for good in two years just because of seeing those fish. Wow.
Wow that’s crazy!!! Everything is so affordable and look so fresh😋 Can’t wait to be back home!!!
That fish market would be a place I’d like to visit when I come to Ghana. I only eat fish, no meat. Fish is super expensive here in NYC, and also in the Caribbean whenever I visit. You have made me hungry from watching, yumm.
Do visit. Very cheap. I’ve bought from there before
Patricia Abijah, thanks it’s a must do.
Looking forward to some sweet Ghanaian food in the not too distant future.
I can't believe how fresh and cheap that sea food is I can definitely see myself living in Ghana not to mention all the beautiful women there.
This is rich, beautiful ,simple and organic watching!
Amazing video. I really love it. I will be travelling to ghana in 10 days for the first time and definitely will be there. I love seafood.
We love to see you and Aisha all the time you look gorgeous, more ❤️💯🇬🇭
Damn what a selection! Being from a fishy country like Norway, I can't shake the feeling that I am missing out big time.
Thanks for uploading! Like every one of these
Hi Jazz this video was a excellent second choice very nicely done. Enjoyed it very much. Every time I see Aisha I my cousin give my cute little cousin some more air time. Thanks Jasmine.
Beautiful fresh fish. Here in the U.K. This amount of fish and sea foo would cost more the £100 pounds. What they call fresh fish in the supermarket is already old! 🇧🇷❤️
Wow, the fishes are fresh. You can't help it than to follow your bliss because life is really short.
Oh God This country is so bless , look at all kind of 🐟 fish i don't see much people shopping.I can't wait to visite this paradise
So glad you teaching how to cook cuase I'll go hungry wait for after 4 days 😂🤣
The seafood that the lady was asking you to buy from her, is call cutter fish. It's very good in pepper soup or battered fry
I visited this place when I came to Ghana in 2018. It was amazing.
Blecyn oh lovely to hear that xx
Thank you for the show, the fish and other food products in Ghana is so affordable. In Liberia one large yam is $10 USD. I just love seeing different parts of Africa.
Just subscribed. Mode Maya brought me here x
Aaaww Jasmine... now I’m salivating!! Another beautiful and very educative video. Aisha is so beautiful and she has a gorgeous smile. Thank you and stay blessed👸🏽❤️
My dear, you make me miss Ghana ooo , hmm home sweet home! God bless you. ❤️❤️❤️
I would love to try some of that cooking. Looks so good. I cook different, but ginger.. Garlic... Spicy peppers I use a lot. Enjoyed this video
Thank You
I really enjoyed this video
The other day I went to the whole sale market to buy some “fresh” prawns. The man quoted me £47.50 for a box of 1kg. The way I just left lol
haha ahh id probably do same xx
Loooooooooooooooooool. This comment!
Good day oo maame Naomi, you can visit Billingsgate fish market if you live in or close to London the prices are a little reasonable for the UK.
I think by the time I make that visit I'll be confident enough to visit the markets, thanks, Jasmine; most appreciated!
Hi Dr Chef Jasmine another great video. Thank you again for showing us your culture and I encourage you to film more of this. Here in the states we constantly see negative images of your country. I wanted you to interview Aisha. I wanted to learn more about my extended family in Guana. God bless you and remember you're amazing.
I love your videos. Thank You for giving is in the U.S.A. a glimpse of Ghana.
Samuel Selvage ur welcome x
Wow that was an amazing amount of fresh seafood for just $20 US! The prices seem very reasonable. Just the shrimp (small prawns) alone here would be about $8.00 I am confused about that you called octopus. Especially after being cooked, It looked like squid (calamari) or cuttlefish. Those 2 portions of 10 cedí Red Fish, were they already gutted and de-scaled for that price? Watching the fish frying made me hungry!
It is squid...maybe they generalize
Check the part where Jasmine prices the fish, they were not gutted or scaled, she did it during the seasoning process.
@@JackyHapy yes thanks, I was also checking if she had paid somebody else a charge to "clean" the fish.
@@MohamedAli-kl6js yeah, that's what I'm supposing also. Much they way all different peppers here are called by name but in most of Ghana it seems they are all just referred to as "peppers" pretty much. 🙂
@@JavaRatusso There are names for them in Ghanaian languages but as you rightly said they tend to be generalized in english
And another strong video👌🏿👏🏿👏🏿. These sights and sounds of GH are keeping me going till I can get there for real. I can't wait to get to the matkets gain. Thank you.
❤️
I love your vlogs. I hope to visit 🇬🇭 one day. 🇺🇸 Columbus, Ohio USA
I'm looking in my fridge and I have nothing like that. 😂😂😂 Great vlog! 🇺🇸 Columbus, Ohio 🇺🇸

You let me hungry watching you eat this kenky And fry fish. I am watching you from BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS. Welcome home. "HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS." THANKS
Now this interest me wildly I'm thinking of how to incorporate this into a buisness idea
We have more than 10,000 lakes in Minnesota. Lots of 🐠 fish. Yummy. Even ice fishing.
It's a Squid not an octopus but they both taste the same 😄
I love kenkey with fish and gravy❤️I some last year when I was in Ghana!
Great content ✌🏾 that’s why I have my bell on for all your videos
Thanks a lot 💕
That food looks delicious and I really enjoyed the entire video. I like the way you always bargain with the market women and I can tell you were brought up to be very thrifty. I love ❤️ that. Stay safe and stay blessed 🌟👑🌟❤️.
❤️
I love those fish..Here in us we call them red snapper. And I saw lake trout. That is only seafood I like. That place is seafood heaven.Fresh looking fish.Sister you fry the pretty fish too much...😅😆

Jas, where is this? I have been looking to buy shrimp.
Nana Ashanti Tema Newtown fish market x
Jasmine Ama please include in description box as I was wondering too
Nope no no , eat your giant African snails instead.
omg 20 usd for all that, here in the u,s it would have over 100 easy depending if you went to a fish market. That is super cheap, thanks for providing info on the fish market
The market place is realy clean.
Wow, that's a massive fish market! You got some really good deals, 120 for the whole lot is impressive. I like the way you bargain.
Ama Seiwaa haha thank u xx
Oh WoW! I just saw my favourite fish! Oh man! I'm coming to Ghana... & you actually bought the fish I love, that's the red fish with the yellow thing that comes down from the side of the mouth. We call it goat fish! They used to be plentiful in the islands, but i see now that they've migrated to Ghana...😉
They’ve been around Ghana for long. It’s a very popular fish
Is that Tema New Town fishing harbour? Goodness I grew up in this town. So much change ;) Hello to Aisha
Your friend is pretty. Aisha, so pretty and shy. Lol you two make good friendship.
I honestly felt some connection with that food... lol specially the kenkey she looked amazing. Thanks for giving me as non Ghanaian new ideas to enjoy kenkey.
Very enlightening fish shopping. I will surely visit. Please is it at the motorway side of Tema or Sakomono side? There are a few fish markets in Tema. (Open fish market, etc.) please could you forward link or pip point. Once again thanks for the presentation. Your relative behind always giggling, seems pleasant and smiling. Tell her to keep it up.
Near the harbour, tema Newtown
I will definitely visit this market..thanks for sharing I love fresh fish
