In the '90s, I went to a Tina Turner concert. Joe Cocker opened for her. Joe's final encode song was "With A Little Help From My Friends". He had three female backup singers.
One of the backups stepped forward and did the last verse/chorus with Joe Cocker. It was Tina Turner!
The finished the song, Joe stepped back and Tine Turner began her portion with Proud Mary. Joe Cocker was one of her backup singers for that song.
The transition from a Joe Cocker concert to a Tina Turner concert was seamless.
    Brilliant!

When you find an artist that instantly removes you from your surroundings, that's the rabbit hole you want to jump down into. Joe cocker made a living from doing covers...... like nobody else could! His entire record “Stingray" is a banger, not widely recognized due to poor promotion. Some must-listen suggestions: She Came In Thru The Bathroom Window, The Jealous Kind, Catfish (About the pitching great Catfish Hunter), A Song For You (My all time favorite of his), Look What you’ve Done, Feelin Alright, and Worrier. JC passed away in Dec of 2014 at 70 years of age from lung cancer….. RIP JC and TY for the music you left us. Great reaction as always, TY.

@@tazjammer That was actually a rumor.....Joe Cocker never had cerebral palsy, and in one of his quotes ""I never played organ or piano or guitar, so it was more out of frustration and me just trying to impersonate in a way," Cocker explained. "I did it subconsciously. People mistook for me being ill, like I had palsy. I'm not nearly so demonstrative now, but I still have my own way of feeling the rhythm."

I saw Joe in a Sheffield pub called the Pheasant Inn, back in the late 80's .. He was in the crowd watching a local band (Frank White), absolutely pissed out of his brain. He got invited on stage to perform one song .. He obliged .. Then proceeded to sing " A whiter shade of pale." He produced a masterpiece. Another audience member pulled out a harmonica and joined in and nailed it too. What a night !!

Wasn't he wonderful? And so right, he put his soul to work radiating outwards. He wasn't always treated well by the labels in America. That's the main reason he returned to the UK. RIP Mr Joe. I have enjoyed his music for many decades.

It seems so obvious to express yourself exactly that way when you're in that place. 😊❤
I saw Joe touring this in the mid-70s; he still put everything into his performance, and left a lot onstage, including a puddle of vomit behind the drum riser, unless they had a bucket stashed back there. Came back out, finished the song, whichever it was, and the rest of the show. Always affecting.
Must see/hear? 'Leave Your Hat On', 'Up Where We Belong', 'Feeling Alright', 'Delta Lady', 'Cry Me A River', 'Bird On A Wire', 'Let’s Go Get Stoned'.
    A fan from the first.
Rest In Peace, Joe Cocker. 💐 💙

I would agree, if not for Linda Ronstadt.

its pretty deplorable that Joe is not in the Hall of Fame. I'm sure i can't be the only one that wept when I found out he passed. The way he sings all generations will love him.. forever.

I appreciate your ability to feel the music of different genres and times. Music heals everything.
One of Joe Cockers greatest moments was on Saturday Night Live with the original cast in the mid 70’s.
Joe and John Belushi did a duet and Belushi killed it. It was an amazing impression of Joe Cocker. Check it out sometime and it will blow you away how good Belushi was.

My dad fell in love with this song and learned to play it on the piano. He would always play it for me on my birthday--without me asking. This Billy Preston interpretation by Joe Cocker is a classic that will always reminds me of my dad. Thanks for the reaction.
