very informative vid. I just finished my process and finally landed a full time SWE opportunity after 700+ application. If I could go back I would definitely optimize how I searched for a full time dev role.
Simililar story. TLDR: Took a computer science class my senior year of HS. So in college I decided to also major in CS , but the first semester was just math and b.s classes.. in my mind I thought I would be coding. Got fed up and switched to and graduated with a bio degree. Covid happened during my internship and told me to sit tf down .. joined a coding bootcamp and here I am.. hungry and ready for my first role.
I was surprised to hear that you were pursing a physics degree. I hold one myself, and even got accepted into graduate school and spent 2 years pursuing a masters and a phd. People say a physics degree is hard, yeah they're not lying. Anything beyond that is mind numbing. Pair that with a teaching assistant job that pays like crap just so I can get free grad tuition, I eventually went insane with burnout and imposter syndrome and failed a class and there then got suspended. Luckily, I did a whole bunch of side projects and 4 *simultaneous* part-time coding jobs in undergrad, and a whole two years of pretty advanced computational physics, coding in C++ and sometimes FORTRAN. I left grad school 9 months ago, but I have yet to get called for 1 interview. So yeah, I'm feeling very down right now. But glad to see you're doing well for yourself mate.
BRO something that is crazy is the video you used as an example for the algorithm was in my recommended earlier and I added it to my "coding" playlist to watch it later LMAOOOO... btw, love the videos man, keep up the good work!
Informative video man! I noticed you attended the Marcy Lab School and I’m in the interview process for that bootcamp.Any chance I could DM some questions I have about ur experience there?
Hi, is there any chance you could make a video on your opinion on how AI could take software engineering jobs? Its really confusing to umderstand the general concesus
Is web development and HTML/CSS much different from being a software engineer? And what are the differences, I'm very new to coding and just started with python so I would love to know which "path" to take.
Well in my opinion, software engineering deals with both frontend and backend sides of coding plus things to know for businesses. Web development is mainly for website creation and Python is considered an “easy” coding language to start with. A bunch of vids would tell you that there’s no right “path” to take anyways so just starting with Python is fine but make sure you branch out as well to other coding languages like Ruby, Java, C++ etc…
Your mum finding out through the news is funny asf

Yo it’s hard out here! Good luck fam!

Why does your resume show the bachelor of science took 4 years?
Probably before he dropped out completely
