I haven't been able to put together exactly why I like older Tales games more than ToA. I think it's the older, more arcade style engine that allows for expression like this that the newer titles can't replicate.
NOPE! Don't want NO parts of this cancer😱! Amazing you found a solution to this crazy fight! Even the one opening you used to juggle Rideaux could have easily ended in tragedy if Ivar used Phantom Surge. But sometimes its simply "no guts, no glory" =03. Extra lovely you killed them both at the same time 😆
I'll always maintain the opinion that if they just dropped the gunners and made it just a fight against Ivar and Rideaux it wouldn't be as bad. Hitscaning enemies that can chunk your life from anywhere on the map AND have infinite heals is pretty cancer.
Yeah I don't know what they were thinking putting them in the fight esp when there are TWO bosses on the field which is rare in itself. The fact that this is the only non giganto boss that has this, and even then, they don't have mobs, is a testament to how stupid the idea was
oh this must have been HELL. Great job doing this, and they deserve the Soulstoke celebration tbh. I imagine the run is going to get VERY difficult past here if you want to get the title for not using chromatus until after Biesley. Leia's practically a sitting duck without it. I seriously cannot imagine trying to get through all of that with less that 150 uses.
Rideaux, Ivar, and the dreaded gun-wielding agents, what a hellish combination there! You made it look much easier than it actually is, considering everything that can go wrong. Nice double finish the MA too, and perfectly in sync with the music at that!
This fight actually felt a bit easier than Rideaux 2 for me, but that might be because I've already had experience with all these enemies before. Glad you enjoyed watching one of the hell fights though haha.
The floor is lava!!! Good shit trying to find good spots on being safe, looking at the screen and staying consistent with that rule to not get into shit situations is not that easy
Thanks! It's definitely easy to get put into shit situations in this kinda fight, but I think my experience from Xillia 1 actually helps me a lot here. I had to land in some pretty messed up fights in that game without any landing artes like Eagle Rage haha.
lol, synching the music with the start of Ivar bullying was a nice touch. Also, that graze at 0:24 was wild. Nice work dealing with this fight! Sounds like it's a real headache to keep it from becoming a mess, so props for making it look as clean as you did. (Also, the Star Ocean fan in me finds great joy in that mid-combo build swap, lol.)
Lol, the weapon switching is pretty SO-coded now that I think about it. I'll actually be doing a lot more weapon switching in a few future fights so you can look forward to that :p

Yeah I was honestly surprised I didn't die to Ivar near the end there lol. I don't usually take too many risks but it paid off big there!
0:43 that gunner enemy back stepping was pretty clean lol
Enemies in the Xillia games are surprisingly good at backstepping things sometimes. It can honestly be a problem lmao.
