_yeh I remember seeing these beasts back in the 90’s, only the _*_Toffs_*_ drove them .. 540 not a common sight today but plenty of millennials flogging other Bavarian Motor Works badges now_
"Real digits not little wheels" 😂 love ya work Alex but the "little wheels" are real digits you can touch them, the "real digits" are just emitting light. And nowadays fiddling an electronic dash is easier than a convincing analog wind back job they always lined up terribly. Funny how in the 90s sports sedans were far more about functional stylish practicality dual zone climate is almost a bit "yuppy" for back then. It would have been an anathema to have all the gizmos nowadays if available they would have seemed gimmicky
Nah, the S38 had this covered easily. The 3.8L six had 260kw vs the 4.0L v8 put out 210kw. BMW did send us antipodeans an M5 lite called the 540LE that was all M5 parts minus the big 6. Oz got 70 of them. Don’t know how many came to kiwiland.
Liam Ive subscribed to your channel because I thought it was something like HondaPro Jason aka Honda or JDM based channel. Since selling your CL9 it's been boring to me honestly. Im from Europe and I'm not a brand hater, but for us BMW are only driven by foolish unskilled youth. Dont know if theres a place for us anymore in this channel.
@@KiwiCarLife sad to hear that. Dont know is it because of low views count or somethig else. If its because of views, you should study how you can increase that. It is like you do what audience wants you to do, no what you personally like. Thumbnail design, bombastic titles, bombastic camera angles, etc, and about you personally - to be a clown as much as as you can. Sad to say that but thats reality. Proof for that is that your most viewed videos are about license or moped or similar. Or to be somewhere in middle like Donuts channel. Your channel was a hidden gem to me. It was like showing me how an average barely unknown family sedan such as cl9 could be tastefully tuned as an ultimate fun rocket. Your honest comparisons between different Honda models are outstanding. Thank you for that. But would like to see somethig new like that in future. But thats up to you.
...the interior today comes lavishly equipped with doors....Kiwi CarLife deserves a million subscribers. Nay. A billion.
Hahaha
I still have the Australian motor magazine comparison against the hsv gts. Unsurprisingly it beat the hsv which was 60k cheaper.
Well, yeah the price point alone says all you need to say haha

Its a V8 buddy...
@@saileshnaran6732 also an auto twice as thirsty
Needs a manual gearbox
Mmm that would make it a lot better
As stock new a manual 540i could do the 1/4 in 14.2 @ 102mph according to Motorweek good for 30 years ago! @@KiwiCarLife
my dream car ! why BMW did not make v8 m5 in e34 . 3,8L I6 was good but v8 is much better
Yeah although I6 is definitely a lighter and more revvy engine, more suited to sports sedan
