Thats actually what someone did to test it, he used a sledge hammer to try and break the glass but barley cracked. Even used a car. But its perfectly safe.

Well, some glass is actually quite strong. You can use it just like any other material, without it being as brittle as the stuff in your windows. It's just a bit more expensive, generally.
Layers of thick glass and glue. Glass is quite strong, you know? If used right.
They should install hidden speakers that play cracking noises!

I am the same, deathly afraid of heights all my life. FYI, there is a RUclips video I watched years ago of a guy working at the top of an extremely tall cell tower. It made my heart race just watching the video.

Just watching this video makes me hyperventilate.....I COULD NOT do it.....I hate heights..I cant even walk up stairs that when you look down you can see through to the bottom...
I used to work on the 10th floor of an office building with a large atrium running all the way up the middle, the bathrooms were on the atrium and accessed by a narrow walkway, I got my fair use out of them because everytime I used them it scared the shi# out of me

I noticed NO rails and did not know it's a boat bridge and it really high so don't feel so bad there have been some accidents lately.🎉
@@FirstnameLastname-tp4zw As I blithely started crossing the bridge with some friends one friend said to my husband “she obviously hasn’t read the sign “cross if you dare” I had turned to look at a boat coming up the canal and saw a sheer drop on the other side, It made me feel as though I was suspended in mid air😂😂

The architects and engineers who designed and built this glass-bottom bridge had to make sure the perfect safety of this bridge before they let the visitors/tourists walk on it. The company that was responsible for building this bridge doesn't want to be sued if something happens to the bridge that causes injuries or deaths to visitors. Better safe than sorry.

Maybe a see through observatory, or portholes along the way, but to make the entire surface out of glass does not seem sustainable. It will require constant cleaning and polishing. Also glass very brittle and you can only make so flexible. . .
