I have been preaching and teaching Bible for over 50 years. In 1957, I began studying the scriptures diligently after graduating from high school. In 1980, God began dealing with me, bringing me to what I believed was my deathbed in 1985. In the hospital, I awoke near death crying out to God, "Lord, You are going to kill me if I don't quit living for myself and saying all the truth in my power!!!" Thereafter, I began to say these blunt plain words that appeal to the elect sheep. As a result, I began to make more enemies than I could have ever imagined. I was sick and tired of the “mush” gospel that churches were preaching. My family was confused, and on many occasions on the way home from church, my wife would say, "he said such-and-such last week and he said this-and-that this week contradicting what he said the previous week." I began to say to my wife Mary, "don't listen to the preacher, because he doesn't know what he’s talking about." Finally, I said, "this is a waste of time! We are going home. We are not going to these churches anymore. I will teach you from our home."
Nearly thirty years ago, we started Grace and Truth Ministries which included my wife, son and one other young man. We started taping the sermons shortly thereafter.
God Has Chosen
Romans 8:29-30 - "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."
Foreknow - to have a personal intimate relationship beforehand.
God predetermined that all who belonged to him before the foundation of the world were to "conform" to the word of God in obedience to Christ.
All that were predestined were "called", "justified", and "glorified" (past tense verbs). These were fixed in the mind of God before the world began. (Ephesians 1:4; Acts 13:48; II Thessalonians 2:13). The election of the saints is unto accountability (I Peter 1:2).
The majority of the protestant church held to this doctrine during the reformation. It is the foundation of "The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689". You Baptists are supposed to be believing it and you've discarded this precious doctrine of Grace !!!

At minute 24, I had such a burden lifted thank you Pastor for this truth. Specifically, it was a conundrum I was facing where if after creation, God said that it was good, and, if that "good" included Adam's sinful nature, then, how really could God our father deem it good. Well, the reason is simple, it was good according to the counsel of His own Will. Amen and Amen. Ephesians 1: 4 - 5. Such a simple and truthful realization. I hate how man twists God's word and uses craftiness and charisma to deceive.

In my times serving the lord I have heard, read studie every doctrinal books ,I can said very clearly, we don't preacher pastors and teachers who teach the bible like brother Jim especially difining the words ..when I came across his teaching everything that's I had leard, I trow ed in the garbage ....I was wrong n I don't even know .

I often wonder why Pastor Jim often defers to J McArthur as being more learned than him. Possibly just being more humble than he actually needs to be
I’m wondering, could the fake Pentecostal churches get their ‘slain in the spirit’ ideology from the verse Rev. 13:8? It seems somewhat blasphemous to act like being slain and jiggling on the floor of a church building like it’s some kind of sign that your saved by the grace of Jehovah God. It’s truly uncomfortable to be in the presence of this behavior, it always made me feel unsaved, cause I just wasn’t getting slain in the spirit, just stood there looking at others. Jim, I know you most likely won’t see this comment since this is an old teaching, but you have changed my life in Christ tremendously! Thank you all at T&G. Agape, Flora

I heard one preacher, when he got to the words election and called and chosen, literally say something like .. I know what these words say but it's not what they mean.. how could you claim to know the word and go against it so openly.

I agree with you and we are NOT predestined for salvation but to be conformed to his image but... I believe he is sincere and he backs up his belief with Gods word so I belief he is just in error, if we are predestined to salvation it wouldnt say God wishes that all should repent and come to know him as they wouldnt have a chance as they were destined to hell
