    Those David Wigg interviews are great. Bought them on LP in the early 80’s.

    Very nice to hear anything like this. It's nice to think about what they were doing at the point of these interviews. Again, very nice, thank you.

    Good interviews! Thanks for sharing them here. Also, just looking at that cassette and case was a blast from the past. I haven't seen cassettes that looked like that for such a long time.

    The media were on an all out assault on the Beatles relationships for at least three years before they broke up. In Every single interview, no matter where in the world they were, the first question was always about when they would break up. In public, reporters would run at them from far off to breathlessly ask when they would break up. The only thing the media was interested in was negativity about “rumors” of trouble and problems in the band. The assault worsened after their manager died and they had to take on the burden of managing themselves. Reporters and their bosses really wanted to break up that band and the social cohesion they created. Then, for the next 20 years all they wanted to know was, when will the Beatles get back together? The answer was, never.

      They were just kids really, they went through more hell than we can imagine. Zero privacy, infinitely high expectations, crazy fans, intrusive media presence 24/7… these lads were all super strong people, I know I couldn’t have put up with even a third of that they did.

    I will listen later I recall C120 cassettes were often ultra thin magnetic tape ,and tended to stretch sometimes and get chewed up round the pinch wheel and playback head of the tape machine ..Anyone remember the same ? C90 was my preference ...for that reason

    • @oboogie2
      @oboogie2 3 года назад +1

      And they would stretch and start making a screeching sound when they played.

      I sure remember that. I got quite good at putting tapes back together if they got or something it was so simple. Just use the least amount of Scotch tape matches the the width of the tape. Things were simpler than to be able to fix something now I'm simply lost so many times with the new electronics. I have trouble even working the newer DVD players. I used to be the guy in the family to go to to fix things electronic but now I have to go to my twenty-three-year-old son to accomplish those kind of things

      Absolutely. 90 minutes was bad enough. I would only buy 120 for occasions where you cant flip the tape over because you are busy performing.

    Did George say at the end that it wasn't possible for the Beatles to split spiritually? That they could split physically but not spiritually?

    Hit! George shares an impromptu acoustic guitar version of “Here Comes the Sun” at 37:07! Big kids are going to love it :)

      It's not George playing. It's one of the several times in the video that the interviews are interspersed with recorded instrumental versions of Beatles songs.

    The second interview with Ringo is NOT from juli 1970! Because he's talking about John living in America and John didn't move there until 1971. And Ringo talking about "listen to our albums!". Well, in july 1970 only Ringo and Paul hade made a solo album.

      Good point. When I get a moment I’ll look into see if I can find a bit more

    • @Firefoxy-rz1nw

      Your right clearly because of the John living in American comment, but by 1970, George had already released Electronic Sound and wonderwall. All things Must Pass of course was released by late 1970. John's first 3 albums were vanity products but George's first two are great.

    • @Firefoxy-rz1nw
      @Firefoxy-rz1nw Год назад

      I meant to add that John had already put out three post-beatle albums by 1970, but they were of course collaborations with Yoko. But Harrison was the first to start releasing solo albums.

    Ringo would never ever do a drum solo. He hated drummers who did these lengthy solos. We all did. - Paul McCartney.
