So I went to sleep yesterday with this video at around 700 views which I was very pleased with already, but then I wake up today and I find this video to be closing in on 7000 views. I just wanted to thank every singular one of you who decided to watch it, because stealing the Idris was a lot of work and reaching 7000 views is mindblowing to me (That is like 2 or more theaters of people). I've occasionally been on and off from making RUclips videos across different channels with most not even reaching 100 views, but now here we are. Thank you so, so much; I really appreciate it :).

@@justinn5357 I was talking about in atmo :) most sounds you hear in EVA are akin to what you would hear vibrating in your exhaust. Listen to how a p4 sounds next time you are in 0 G.
Sound doesn’t travel as well in space but it can still travel.
@@justinn5357 They wont change this. Not sure if you've seen the citizencon but theyll be introducing two variants of audio, the normal and one more "realistic" that is muffled. There will ALWAYS be audio. There is lore as to why. Youre not going to play a space GAME in complete silence.
If raw power was a feeling, then the Idris would be pure love and hate at the same time. I don't know what that means, but that's the kind of confusing shit my brain starts thinking (without my consent) when I look at this beautiful vessel and hear its majestic battle-cry as it passes by, unhindered.
I really wanted to see someone walk below it while it was landed cuz it gives the best impression of its scale. I have not seen that sofar anywhere on youtube
Sorry I couldn't provide that here. This footage is from 3.19 and I rediscovered it in a google drive folder, but some footage was just gone. I remember one of us making a screenshot of the Idris just landed on top of a freelancer with a person below. You might find the screenshot in our screenshot channel on the Discord server.

HOLY..... man that fly by.... i guess few games can give a fly by like that, specially with such a massive machine. i love that they never patched out the possibility of stealing these ships from NPCs, but it will still be epic when they are officially out with it's full glory, great that you guys did these tests.
its hard to realize how big it is floating in space BUT when you had it in atmospshere compared to things on the ground its absolutely massive !
I made a community post, where it has a freelancer (i believe freelancer max) between its landing gear, with a lot of room to spare upwards lol.
Honestly, Squadron 42 cannot come soon enough. I can't wait for us to get to see these things flying around and having battles on the regular.

Just wait until the sound rework comes in. Then the Idris will sound really good.
I'd have gotten out and stood where the Railgun was pointed, just to see if I could be the game stats as one of the first people to ever take an Idris railgun straight to the face.

I would crap my pants trying to fly an Idris through and asteroid field.
I remember taking a stolen Idris and wondering very strongly whether it would survive my urge to fly straight into the ground from orbit on Yela.
Surprisingly, it survived that twice, so it's safe to assume that it can easily survive scraping an asteroid :).

you can steal the NPC ones, they dont have a interior so you have to be creative

@@MarcTavX You have to glitch through the geometry and once inside there is just a cockpit and no interior. There are videos on YT that show how to do it.

You should shoot the rail gun and have a arrow or gladius fly by at max speed so you can match the bullet

Since when does an Idris have Vtol thrusters? never noticed them. then again Im usually 15km away in my Tali. and that railgun is absolutely devastating, can confirm.

If I remember correctly, this was actually a special Idris because we stole it from the navy.
So we first went to port olisar (when it still existed) and found an idris. One of us EVA'd into the back through the door that didn't have collision with a grenader launcher on them and waited. Then one of us began attacking to aggrevate the station and the Idris, so that we could lure it out of the armistice zone. I'm not fully show how we got rid of the NPCs by then, but one of us got into the cockpit seat by using the weird gravity well on the Nomad. I hope that explains it :].
how do you even get your hands on these? do you have to bug into one to fly it?

from the sqaud 42 videos it looks like 4 gladius cant fit in a idris.. now imagine how many p72 or furies.. you can litterely prob have 20 fighters ready to go.. fleet gameplay is going to be epic

Surprised I've never seen someone take JT, ghosthollow etc. with one of these. When those big org fights are happening, send one or two people off to glitch into an idris and come back with it. A2's wouldn't be so tough then lol
That leads me to think... I have never tried throwing a MOAB onto an Idris...
@@rmap_ I think it will prove critical to keep moving larger capital ships while in combat to prevent MOABs, I'm sure it'd be a lot of damage. From what I've seen, 890s can withstand indirect MOAB hits but not direct hits. So using that as a barometer - I imagine the idris maybe surviving one or two depending on shields.
That being said - bombs are very easy to shoot down with good turret gunners compared to missiles and torpedoes.

There is a glich if you crouch somewhere on the bridge from the exterior. You can pass the hull and enter the cockpit. Then you are cloisoned on the bridge but you can kill the NPC pilot to pilot the frigate.
The footage is from 3.19 if i remember correctly. There are many tutorials on how you can steal it, but it requires certain ships to do :).

Isn’t that the gun of the idris K?
The Idris K is an upgrade kit to the Idris P (I believe) and has a giant laser cannon in the front instead. I wish it was the Idris K, but it's unfortunately not in game as of now, so this was the Idris P. The leader of our organisation has an Idris K, which isn't yet flyable though. Hope this explains it :].
Ahh ok due to the beam effect I thought this was the K. I got myself the M and a K upgrade kit as well. But ingame the M shooting looks way different. Well it could be me I suppose (night shift 😅)

I love all my fellow Star Citizen's , but my Polaris doesn't like any Idris class ship.........neither do my size 10 torps. Damn good video! o7
If a hammerhead gunship is destroyed with 1 railgun shot then a Polaris might be lucky to survive 1 also. 🤣
@@ohisheh My torps will take ya out before ya line up the shot , lol. But it is a battle I can't wait to have. Can you imagine if we got that Q4 next year?? To be honest , will the Polaris have a cool explosion like the Idris?/ Sooooo many questions to be answered. 2024 will be a good year to be a Star Citizen. o7

At the end of the day, the Polaris is meant to be a counter to an Idris but don't think it will be as easy as just dropping your torpedoes and /win.
It ain't helpless against it either.
People quickly forget that the Idris's main function is that of a carrier. The railgun? That's a bonus.
People are too focused on the fact that it has a size 10 railgun when its real strength is its internal hangar.
Just like the Polaris's main function is to drop S10 torpedoes. The S size hangar, that's a bonus.
So again. It all depends on what the Idris is carrying. If it has a couple eclipses deployed, they take the Polaris down way before it has a chance to fire (since they have stealth).
So only two scenarios where the Idris is an easy target for a Polaris:
A) it didn't deploy any of its bombers, they are still in the hangar.
B) it has no bombers, only fighters.
In these scenarios, yes the Polaris wins easy. But if it even has one eclipse deployed, the Polaris is a target itself.
Not saying the Polaris isn't the biggest threat to an Idris, but it ain't defenseless Against it. It all boils down to its escort configuration.
Personally. I'll always have a least one eclipse in mine just to even the odds again a potential Polaris. Even though i know it will still be a serious threat of course. As it should be.
