Crazy how including a charger in the box is a luxury. I remember when phones came with a charger AND earbuds
And case
+ Stickers
some with screen protectors
And it is not a regular charger is a 100W one... 80W in USA
@@JamesBond007Nejc it's usually comes with free shitty transparent case but now it got full matte colour. what an improve
@@pixelman2626 yellow case no more...
It's good to see OnePlus going back to their roots slowly.
this is the most oneplus esque device I've seen in a LONG LONG LONG time. Absolutely LOVE to see it.
Maybe I'll switch my 7a for this....
@@dr.fitprofessor4363 Exactly. The normal 12 for 799 is a steal. $500 less than the S24 with very little difference in performance ect.
It’s trash. You can get an s23 FE with way better cameras, longer software updates for cheaper than this.
@@dr.fitprofessor4363 12R outstrips it? With its shitty 8mp ultra wide camera and no zoom lens? Come on.
@@dr.fitprofessor4363 my research? I just stated you facts. Where have you seen the 12R has better cameras than the s23FE? OMG

I love this phone. I bought it a few days ago I mean by online. OnePlus 12R 16/256. The best phone I ever had!
Здравствуйте! Скажите пожалуйста ваши впечатления от этой модели, как у него фото и видео возможности и автономность. Спасибо заранее за ответ 🤝
Is the phone worth it i have s20 fe and i am looking for an a upgrade tell me your opnion
@@q2uik yes!
@@user-up8ez1em6t Sorry for late reply. I think you have interest to buy it. Size is great, it works fantastic. Trust me I don't have any interest to change your mind because of I have this phone.Nope! I just love 12R. I'm sure 12 will be much better but what I have satisfying me 100%. If you buy I'm sure you will love this phone. Good luck and up to you! By the way the cost of this phone is really worth it! 16 / 256 wow 🔥🔥🔥!
@@q2uik you are in correct way! Best phone! 16/256 that is not joke!
Nice review! I wish youtubers started calling out Apple instead of just calling out other Android competitors like Samsung. Only Apple can get away with selling a 60 Hz $800 phone in 2024. They took their time to get to OLED and now are making 120 Hz a "Pro" feature. The 12R is an exceptional value for $500. Apple have earned their position by working hard. But that doesn't mean they can abuse their power 😅
Why is it disappointing to have 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches? I don't know too many people who hold on their phones beyond four years. Most, including myself, I tend to buy new phones after three to four years.
I had one for 7 years. But I agree. 4-5 years max. After that it could get tricky. People who might keep it longer is cheap device that is used mostly for calls and messages. Not much on apps. Most people replace 2-3 years I think.
Because people think that their Pixel 8 will function as new on year 8 lol
Yeah, especially at its price tag.
Have my S10+ no rush to upgrade, could easy wait another 2 years.
Still keep my S10+ even if I did upgrade, not worth trading in for measly £100.
I'm still using the OnePlus 7 Pro. I've had it for 5 years and it still works fine. The only downside is I have to charge it more frequently due to the battery degradation.
Saying the camera is lacklustre and comparing it with pixel8/pro,fold…?Seems like you want to underwhelm the efforts one plus made with their cameras
The pixel phones are the benchmark for all android phones, so of course everything will be compared to them. There’s no need to be offended just because a reviewer doesn’t heap praise on every part of a product you’ve purchased. You can still enjoy your 12R and its camera performance.

I like the Black OnePlus 12R ❤
love my 12R, I had a OnePlus 2 back in 2016 and its crazy how far theyve come. loved my OP2 but it got way too hot and had such a weak battery. theyve really stepped their game up this time around
I know there are additional taxes in the US, but 500USD is around 470EUR, so why do they charge 699EUR for this device?
He may have gotten it for sale. Though checking the Canadian website right now, I see it costs $495 USD (converted from CAD). While there is a $110 trade any phone any condition deal (converted from CAD) so it costs $385 USD. IDK why the European site is different.
Actually the reason is because the European versions base model has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You also don't get the trade in phone deal. Without the deal the prices are similar. Also the European version has faster charging. I would recommend the OnePlus 11 in Europe as it offers better value and the same chip.
Also VAT is included in the phone price in Europe while tax isn't included in the US.
How does the 12R compare to a pixel a series (6a and 7a)? Specifically the camera?
Get the pixel, this is all about the chip
Pixrl doesn't last long
Pixel has better software, updates, and camera. OnePlus has better screen, better hardware, and glass back.
Have the pixel 7 but would have bought the 12R instead if it had a flat screen
The pixel 7a the phone i have sucks lmao get the 12r
I just picked up the OnePlus 12R this is my 5th OnePlus device and I have to say I am glad to see that OnePlus still gives a damn about their products. They don't just throw shit against the wall to see if it's going to stick like some other android OEMs. If I could have justified the extra $300 maybe I would have done the 12. But I doubt it.
I needed to replace my Note 8 phone so I bought a Note 20. That phone was a slow POS. I bought this one and am very happy with it. I don't play games and am not a photographer, so this phone is just fine for me. I do wish it had wireless charging, but I just got one of those magnetic charging cables and the USB C plug protects the charging port on the phone from dust & dirt. I lowered the refresh rate to 60htz which still looks better to me than any phone I've owned before.
I’m gonna buy the Iron Grey OnePlus 12R. It looks gorgeous! 🤩
Does the 12R have portrait VIDEO in 4k from the main camera like the 12 does?
Yes it can do portrait videos in 4k30fps
what keaboard are you using? i like white low-profile keaboards :)
Keyboard.
Very very clearly and details review of OnePlus 12R I've come across 👍. Please keep up the good work. Best
Can we get a Pixel 7a/8a vs Oneplus12R comparison?
8a doesn't exist
@@newfnshow031 it will release in 1-2 months
they're talking about a video made in the future since the pixel 8a is only like 2 months away. And will be a good comparison for the 12R
I agree with you and specially on color os , Why Would you give us Oppo's color os when we wanted fast animations and stockish Nature of the Old Oxygen OS. Btw i had Oneplus 9R and 11R before.
Should I get the oneplus 11 or oneplus 12r ?? Confused
I am able to get both same price in my country which one should I get ?
Compare them on GSMArena and weigh your needs on a phone. The phone who does all your needs better wins
Depends. If you want better cooling, better screen, and better battery, then the OnePlus 12r is better. If you want better screen resolution, cameras, and faster charging than the OnePlus 11 is better. Both great devices
Recommend this over Xiaomi 13T Pro?
OP12r Wallpaper link plzzzz
What's the name of the game shown at the beginning of the video?
Gunfire reborn, played it a long time on PC and it's mobile port is pretty decent
@@jordanintheknow Hey thanks!!!
Does this 12R have the Wireless recharge option ?!
No wireless charging option unfortunately 😕
There is no ⚡wireless charging⚡ feature available, but considering that the device can be charged for just 30 minutes and last all day, it might not be necessary. To extend the 🔋battery life, it is recommended to charge the device between 20% to 80%, which consumes only 0.20 cycles. Charging it to 100% will consume 1 cycle from the battery. Additionally, wireless charging generates more 🔥heat🔥 that can damage the battery.
Which gaming controller you showe in video?
that was just a PS4 DualShock 4 controller with a clip-on accessory.
looks like Oneplus is back!
I hate the camera module. But I got 12r due to lack of options on US market. Will have to wait till oneplus 13 and trade in maybe
What game is this at 6:30?
Gunfire reborn
I don’t think in terms of off the shelf options that you can do much better than the 12r here in the states. Especially when you’re talking about the value proposition.
They just announced ace 3 pro. I'm torn if I'll get this one or ace 3 pro
What's the name of the game that he was showcasing in 2:04?
the website says 3 os updates and 4 years security
Love your Kirby shirt.
what is that controller at 1:57? would love to use it for gaming like genshin
its a sony dualshock 4, its a ps4 controller
Ew
I have a Xiaomi 12 and thinking to buy this OnePlus 12R, do you think it's worth?
Just bought this instead of s23 base model to replace my s7 edge. I love it. Charger included inside and 1 extra charging cable 😊 my first time to experience fast charging and wow
Good choice! I have an s23fe and switched to this a week ago. The battery and charging capabilities alone was enough for me to switch!
Just upgraded from a OP8 to a 12R today. In my experience OnePlus makes good quality stuff that can handle heavy use for 2-3 years before it can't hold a charge for a whole day
Got mine yesterday.
Already there are things I've noticed that are worse than my old OnePlus 6.
1) that annoying Google discover page that you can't get rid of.
2) scrolling through the apps. Because the edge of the screen is curved, it misreads your finger position when trying to select the starting letter of the app name.
3) the app name text on the desktop shortcuts doesn't wrap to a new like like it does on the 6. It just cuts the test off.
4) the fingerprint sensors seems more prone to not working first time
@@tsetsoivanov
?
Locking the home screen layout doesn't remove Google Discover
@@l3v1ckUKI have had my OnePlus 6 since the release, would you say that I should upgrade mine to this or pick something else? I am also worrying about the curve a bit, I don't really like it at all. Let me know
I'm getting used to it now.
The two big massive improvements are battery life and screen brightness. I can actually use the 12R in sunlight outside.
What game is he playing at 1:57?
I just don't like how the camera module looks. Everything else is fantastic
Sounds like they're giving GoodLock a run for its money
bought myself one and it is amazing
Is the battery life good
How do you get that date and temp widget, ?
Go to widgets from the home screen, tap on Google, it's called at a glance. I think that's the widget you mean?
Xiaomi 13t pro or OnePlus 12r i can't decide please help me❤
usually midrange phones have a bad micrphone.
like my Nothing phone 1, it's camera quality is perfect but the microphone is really bad.
is the microphone good on this one ?
I have no issues with it
7T was the same color, no ?
The biggest defect is the curved screen. Idk if i will keep 12r bec case doesn't protect curves
Although I had no interest to get an other OP phone, the 12R would change that, but that curved display is a dealbreaker, shame.
@@Daaell I know. Waiting to see if Poetic makes military grade case for it like they did for OP12.
This is not a budget device. This is a mid-range device. Based on that price
Snapdragon gen 3 overheats way too fast and couldn't care less about camera's so the 12R is perfect saving me £200+.
Still £624 for the 16gb ram 256gb storage though.
I have the snapdragon gen 3 and mine never overheats even when I play games lol if you want the cheaper option just say it no need to bash on the more expensive options to justify yourself
I got the 12R for $435 with tax with a trade in of a cheap Samsung, seemed like a great deal to me
Which game was that he was playing??
so far I love the phone, switched from the iphone 15 plus and I don't regret it outside of battery life
My wife's brand new iPhone 15 pro max battery life is total shit, barely lasts through the day and admits brand new
what's that controller called? playstation??
it's a dualshock 4
What game are you playing?
Okay, so I'm using the new oxygen OS for a while, and it's just so good, smooth and reliable. I'm happy with the new looks of it. Not having any complaints, yeah it's true for the update, but yeah I can deal with that..
One correction: Oneplus 12R has only 3 years android update and 4 years security update. Please correct it
Better than the pixel 7 pro?
In Europe it's between 599-699€
OnePlus only sells the maxed out 16GB, 256GB variant in Europe. Also the European models already include VAT while the US/Canadian prices don't include tax. After factoring that, the prices are more similar
The icon pack?
Software is buggy. Whatsapp call on Android Auto drops in 10 secs. This does not happen on other android phones like pixel/samsung devices. Nobody seems to point this out in reviews
$599* the blue model is only available in the 16gb/256gb model.
Does it have Wireless charging?
No
@@Rhachette thank you
Even Google is not going by stock android again. The only con about this phone is no optical zoom camera
How is the 4500 battery "massive"???
it has 5500 not 4500
no ip rating listed
I love this phone and I think the camera is great
I haven't gotten a new phone for a while i still have my one plus 7 but im hearing phone now days dont come with a charger?!?!? Like what??? We paying so much at least throw a charger in it. Anyway. Im glad one plus is not disappointed and i cant wait to get the new 12R and watch 2!
We have 100W charger in France.
What game is he playing at 4:50
Gunfire Reborn on PC and I think Xbox.
What a beautiful looking phone
First day with mine. So much better than my junk Pixel 8 pro that froze up many times a day.
Idk, this review feels a bit negative as if a $500 phone is comapred to a $1000 one. Its a great phone.
I like mine!
So it's a slightly upgraded OnePlus 11? Or midway between 11 and 12? I love every OP I've owned but I don't see the point of this.
🙌🙌🙌🙌
i have this phone and i love it but i absolutely HATE the alert slider.
there is absolutely no reason for it to exist as you can very easily manage it in the settings.
luckely it's very high on the phone but it's still VERY annoying !
Not affordable for the 16GB 256GB Cool Blue Edition! No Expandable Storage!
Whats with screen brightness being a plus for specs on a phone ???.....industry trends are so stupid nowadays...so many fake numbers
Because we like bright screens
@@mariodennis6236 yes but the brightness figures specified are fake....and every manufacturer has jumped in on the 2000+ nit claims as a selling point. When they know very well super high bright screens suffer from screen defects, screen burn, green line etc.
@@mariodennis6236yes but when it gets past a certain brightness it doesn't matter

It will charge 0 to 100 in 20 minutes
Samsung phones don't last 7 years they usually stop running so four years is Great
I still see ppl with samsung s9 or 10
Oneplus 12 Review
Curved screen? Sadly, I'm done with Oneplus now :( It's a built in 'crack your screen and buy a new phone' gimmick to keep people buying new phones.
what you are talking About? Even in drop test curved displays are more resistent.... Honor 90 its one example of durabily, at its a fking curved display.... Lol
@@shadowform1264 The only phone screens I have ever cracked are curved screens. I remember replacing a Samsung twice because of that. It's happened to me at least five times. And I have spoken to several other people that say the exact same thing, and including employees at T-Mobile that have also confirmed that to me. So I'm talking about how curved screens break at a much higher frequency than flat screens.
@shadowform1264 The only phone screens I've ever cracked were curved screens, probably 5 times over the years. I've talked with several others that have had the same experience. I've also talked with a group of T-Mobile employees (while getting my S6 edge screen replaced again) who said they see more broken curved screens than regular. My Pixel 7 Pro is cracked right at the edge and I have now idea when it happened. Also, I'm very careful with my phones. So all of that means I don't trust curved screens.
@@Chris-xx80 exactly the opposite experience the I have with curved screens, 0 cracks, and curved screens are much better for gestures.
@@shadowform1264I hate curved screens accidental touch if I hold it by the sides and side swiping is annoying but to each his own I guess
Instant no just for the curved screen.
I’m thinking about buying it, what’s wrong with curved screens in particular?
@@markwazowskinreal
Pros:
- it looks "cool".
Cons:
- It's more expensive to make
- Accidental touch on sides
- Screen protectors don't work properly and make it look like shit especially with dust collecting under the edges
- Image distortion/glare
-more difficult/expensive to repair
-edge-based gestures more difficult
-more fragile when dropped.
Design is not good 😂, looks like big punch in phone for camera 📸, Good for gaming.
so, it is so evidents that i have mae a gigantic mistake at this stage after i had selected oneplus 12 r over samsung s23 fe which had no doubt better cameras than this phone. let it be known that i had waited 4 years for this upgrade which was not much but I guess, you dont get what you really want in life, #sad
S23fe cameras are actually worse than 12R. 12r camera is actually not bad , I find it similar to my pixel 6 pro camera quality
