You think that's weirder than one candidate being found liable for rape and out on bail in 4 different states? Lots of people are old,but hardly anyone has 91 indictments
One of my issues is, it's harder for a poorer person with legal issues to vote than it is for a wealthy or influential person with many, many legal issues to run for/win higher office.
As a Canadian, what I find weird is having both the popular vote AND electoral college with the electoral college ruling. Another thing I find weird is that convicted felons can't vote yet there's nothing in the Constitution apparently that stops a convicted felon from running for office provided they are at least 35 years old, a natural born citizen and have lived in America for 14 years.
Look at the 2020 election map by county, and you'll see why the electoral college is necessary. Most democrats are in densely populated cities, and have no idea how their food makes it to the store. We can't have people in the cities dictating what people in the rural areas need to do, when they have no idea what life is like outside thier bubble.
The claim that a third party candidate is a spoiler or takes votes away from the duopoly is such nonsense. If the only choices were the Republicans and Democrats I wouldn't vote.
@@AnthonyGagne-t3v if I vote for a Republican in Illinois it doesn't matter who if I vote or not cause that candidate won't ever win so it's the same as if I never voted. My vote isn't owned by the Democrats or Republicans. I will vote how I want and nobody's stupid comments will convince me to do otherwise.
There was a CBS video from 11 years ago about the Former Presidents Club, located just across the road from the White House. There was one remark from that video (at the time of comment 11 years ago) which didn't age very well. They said that it will likely have more use because we have "young Presidents". Clearly, they didn't see the situation where the incumbent President, Joe Biden, is 81 at the time of commenting, and his challenger, former President Donald Trump, is 77 years old. Regardless of what people feel about both of them, neither of them are exactly spring chickens these days, which in turn leads to concerns by younger generations about those at the top not representing how they feel as they will be around for longer than those vying for the Presidency in November
I like that this video is essentially: We have rules, but we as a company don't like those rules because it hurts what we like, so it is "weird". We will then share why these rules were established and how they have good reasons behind them...but we don't like them so they are "weird"
One fact I already knew was Tuesday voting because it’s the day the least conflicts occur. Most religions take Sunday as their rest day, at-the-time Wednesdays were market days, and some people wanted to travel on either day. So the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, lawmakers figured, was the best day to vote. The system has its flaws, but it’s the best we have so far.
The Campaign is good too, it's pretty goofy and stupid, but it also paints a good picture of how even a politician with the best intentions can be bought.
My mom Votes in Presidential Elections but she doesn't really vote for any major candidate because she doesn't believe they can do the job. And I don't blame her. She and I have no faith whatsoever in any electoral candidate that runs for any office. As for me. I don't vote at all.
Yes let's let only the major population areas decide the nations desires with the popular vote bc they know exactly what the rest of us need or have interest in. 😂
They would all starve, because they have no idea what rural areas need in order to grow all the food they eat. And that's fine, I don't expect city people to know about the country, and I don't expect country people to know about the city. That's why we have a representative electoral process, so everyone can have a voice and we decide on the best policy for everyone.
But it only goes in one direction, you don't see country people trying to tell the city people how to live, they just want to be left alone and have their own self determination, the same as they want the city people to do. It's exclusively the city people who want to make the entire country live the way they want.
@@zachryder3150 because all the banks are headquartered in cities, and our monetary system is all smoke and mirrors. If the shit hits the fan, food is going to be a lot more valuable than pixels on a screen. Funny how lefties always talk like they hate the evil rich people, then you try to use them as an argument for why your team is better, whenever that's convenient.

Most of the smart research is pointing to Trump winning. That doesn't mean he will, those are just predictions. But I wouldn't do a victory lap yet. Especially considering how your side deals with not getting your way. We don't want 570 riots in less than a year like we saw last time.
The title let me down, this is just basic voting information. I thought it was going to be about the presidential elections, for example a few interesting elections to study were 1824, 1860, 1876, 1896, 1912, 1916, 1920, 1948, 1960, 1964, 1972, 1992, 2000, 2008, 2012(often overlooked), 2016, and 2020 to name a couple that interested me.
The electoral college was a racist thing from the past. the only good intention of it was to ensure that public did not elect someone who be a tyrant or destroy the vary institution they sought to be elected to. The problem is the electors don't always vote the way their constituents do, and often vote for political reasons not whats best for the country, with little to no accountability should the choice they select lead to damaging consequences. The other issue is smaller states with smaller populations would not have equal representation against larger states or larger cities. In my view, that is their problem, Many of these areas, DONT WANT additional people or prefer small towns to large cities. well larger towns and cities means more job growth, income growth, diversity in populations etc. IF YOU don't want CA, FL, TX or NY deciding elections, start doing something to attract more people to your states!

The weirdest thing? That voting doesn't matter due to the Electoral college.
Love It WatchMojo Bro.
The weirdest fact is that both candidates this year are both senior citizens.
Same
Not just seniors, but older than the average life expectancy to boot.
Just like last one

Of course you're Canadian. Donald Trump didn't commit crimes. He also didn't get a jury, due process or any defendants who testified against him.
Thanks for explaining WatchMojo.

Nonsense is obviously whatever you think it is. Just don't vote at all. That would be the best thing to do.

In the 1980 Presidential election which Reagan won against Carter had a third party candidate in the form of John B. Anderson who was GOP chair.
Kevin Spacey was the best president ever
Not as good as Donald Tr..... oh wait, that actually happened.
Florida isnt a swing state anymore

Most other democratic countries have election days set at weekend and nobody has an issue with this. So how is the US different?
Take a shot he says “this has prompted discussions about reform.”
Just to point out that the US has never been a democracy, but a republic.
US is a democratic republic with presidential system of power. Those two are not mutually exclusive.
Wait, when did they ditch that maturity qualification bit?

Well how about some Jamaican can involve in this weird presidential elections (which who live there).
Hello good morning
For number six in my opinion the only way I would start voting at all is if I didn't have to be FORCED to do jury duty which I NEVER want to do
I was a new hire at my job and they wrote a note for me being in a probationary period. I think they can also say you're too essential.
Getting out of jury duty is really easy.

Trump all the way
Biden is losing this one badly plus unlike literally every other country the US has 2 parties since the 1850's and you can only vote between 2 people.
Cause he will. Biden is the one who has surely already lost. His hopefulness is very misguided 😂
