@@WatchMojo I find this video reckless & unnecessary, especially during a political year, and I for one HATE Politics.
When Watch Mojo put No New Taxes in the thumbnail and didn't mention how Biden did a complete 180 on his promiss of not taxing the middle and lower class.
Honorable mention:
Joe Biden (2024 United States Presidential Debate)
Where is Biden's entire presidency in this video?
@@l-wolverine2211 right? And all the Olympic stuff during Olympic years, and all the Christmas stuff near december....you want this stuff when exactly?
When Bush Sr. said "No New Taxes" I heard "No Nude Texans" 🤣

You can literally slot yesterday's debate, in its entirety, in this list and nobody would object.
Agreed
Correct!
Facts! 😂😂😂
Yeah but I am sure the video was made, and being prepared for upload by the time the debate started.
For George HW Bush, he said "Read my lips" because he was going to be lying out his ass.
I blame the voters for rewarding such an irresponsible promise! (It's an example of the "rhetoric as policy" tendency that Bush's predecessor Reagan so appallingly epitomized!)
TRUTH!!! 😂
He wasn't lying. He said Know new taxes.
@@realRobertoPsycho 😁👏
Chill foo
When a politician says "no new taxes", you should immediately not vote for them
Same goes for tRUMP if you hear him still say the 2020 election was rigged, it 's a witchhunt don't vote for him.
Or you should pay more attention to politics. The only reason he was forced to add taxes was because of his predecessor. Good old Ronnie Reagan. Reagans tax cuts were too big to be sustained. Which is why Ronald is a saint and bush was not. In a nut shell Ronnie set up Bushes failure. people basked in the glory of Ronalds tax cuts and Bush Senior had to pay the bill.
When bush said no new taxes all I could think about was when on family guy they was screaming at Lois when she was mayor saying no new Taxes 😂
How can you tell when a politician is lying? His lips are moving.
God, help America…
If Trump goes to jail, then God will help turn Ameri-KKK-a back to America

Whiskey still has a high tax on every sale, and ironically, it’s Washington state that has the highest 😂
Did I miss Woodrow Wilson playing birth of a nation at the White House? That is one of the most embarrassing presidential moments that I can think of.
Yeah but watch mojo wouldn't want people to think of democrats as racist. They are a leftist propaganda organization.
They put Wilson on the list for the Espionage Acts.
Trail of tears and Japanese internment were the worst. Nixon was just stupid to try to bug the dnc!
"Embarrassing" isn't the word I would use for genocide and internment.
George W Bush: "Mission accomplished."
But then the US still had to pacify Iraq for another 20 years thereafter.
I'm amazed it's only #20, it should be in the top 5.
@@colbystearns5238 Bush jr. was maybe in the bottom 5 of all Presidents. He put us nearly a Trillion in debt over an "incorrect" war, which accomplished nothing. His pathetic economic policies gave us the worst Recession in a century, making even Obama look brilliant. Obama's illegal tax on the Working Class that he ironically called the "Affordable Care Act" went on to turn the populace away from his party, opening the door to Trump. And here we are. . .
Honestly, Kennedy not sending in US military support was the right call. I think his action should be seen as heroic. Standing against the military-industrial complex. He was told if he refused to send in the US military that the plan would go ahead anyway, trying to pressure Kennedy into doing what they wanted done.
Yes, I am currently reading JFK And Unspeakable, what you just said is in that book
So that's why the US Government assassinated their own man ...because he wouldn't do what he was told to do? 🤔 Then they put the blame on Lee Harvey Oswald ... guess that's how the US Govt works: Do what WE say when WE say how WE say or else your azz is grass ⚰ ....
The trail of tears wasn’t embarrassing it was disgraceful and horrible

No I did not
That's what I was about to post.

Well, not every viewer of this channel is an American. And for many of those, things in this video may be new and interesting. I can tell, even though I am not American, I still knew most of those, but not all. Especially things related to earlier US presidents were surprising to me. The whiskey tax most of them, I have to admit.

Poor old Jimmy Buchanan. The late Rene Auberjonois portrayed him in Raising Buchanan.
I agree. He really *was* a very ineffective and shortsighted president, but I don’t see why he always secures the #1 spot as Worst President Ever.
I think Andrew Johnson was really the worst one we ever had (prior to 2016), but I also think Warren Harding and Franklin Pierce lay some claim to the title as well. So we’ve already got four candidates for whom you could make a good argument that they were the worst. So I don’t see why Buchanan *always* gets selected as the #1 Worst Ever.
But that’s only the worst ever prior to 2016, anyway. It is indisputable that Donald Trump was the worst President in all of American history.
I don’t think James Buchanan or Andrew Johnson ever led any violent insurrections into the Capitol Building - you get my drift?
@@matthewgliatto7339 James Buchanan often seems to tie with his predecessor Franklin Pierce and Warren Harding as worst president 🤔
My grandmothers basically she was a maid was a Japanese woman named Masako Ichikwa. During World War II she was taken to one of those camps. My family did everything they could for her at the time. I’m pretty sure they got her out and sent her back to japan where she would be safe. I could be wrong as my grandmother was very young at the time when this happened and was told later on by her parents. I hope this woman lived a happy life as my grandmother talk very fondly about her. She didn’t remember much about her other than when she went to see her at the camps she would cry asking Masako when she was coming back home to them.
So the Afghan pullout is not in the top 20 most embarrassing moments for America? ….. ok, sureeeee 😂
My thoughts exactly! Not a SINGLE Biden “policy” is worthy of this list? The border? Inflation? Afghanistan? Literally get fucked watch mojo!
Why did America fight the Vietnam war?
The Vietnam war lasted 10 years and cost America 58,000 lives and over a trillion dollars(adjusted for inflation). It brought out a President, stirred social unrest, and ended in defeat. No one in hindsight believes fighting a losing war is ever worth the cost. Consequently the Vietnam War is usually written off as a colossal strategic blunder and a humanitarian disaster.
Yet historical appraisals might have been much different had the Vietnam war followed the pattern of the Korean War(1950-1953), which the United States fought for almost identical reasons: the defense of freedom in Asia. The US had military advisors in Vietnam during the 1950s but didn’t become involved in a major way until 1963. President JFK firmly believed in the domino effect. The foreign policy theory that vulnerable nations without help would fall, one after another, like dominoes, to external communist aggression.
JFK thus hoped to stop Soviet and Chinese backed communist invasions in a manner of President Harry S. Truman had in Korea by taking a stand in Vietnam. As with Korea, it was a war the United States did not seek, as with Korea, Vietnam presented no “imperial” advantages, no natural resources of any kind that the United States needed to protect or wish to obtain. As with Korea the aggressor was a communist government in the north intent on taking control of the south. And it’s military cross and internationally recognized in order to do so.
Following JFK’s assassination in November of 1963, President Lyndon B. Johnson vastly escalated America’s role in 1964. But even as he did so Johnson prosecuted the war with deep ambivalence. Authorizing significantly more troops and money for the war but never pushing for total victory. In contrast the north Vietnamese never wavered. They ignored every one of Johnson’s many offers to negotiate a settlement.
By 1971, the war was at a stalemate. Neither side able to establish a clear advantage. The President Richard Nixon pursued a two prong strategy. To turn over combat operations to the south Vietnamese and to bomb north Vietnam. The effort brought the communist to Paris Peace Talks and by 1973 the North agreed to a general settlement. Establishing two autonomous Vietnamese nations. One communist, one non-communist in the manner of North and South Korea.
However the watergate scandal, the subsequent resignation of President Nixon, and the democrats sweeping congressional victory in the 1974 midterm election, all helped to convince the North Vietnamese that America would not enforce the peace agreement. They were right. Without US air support and material aid the South Vietnamese had no chance against the North. Well supplied by the Soviet Union, the Chinese, the communist gained full control of the country in April 1975.
The war proved far more costly than Korea because the geography and landscapes of Vietnam were far more conducive during operation. There were also far more restrictions placed on American commanders and during the Korean War. The United States in the 1960s was a far less conservative and cohesive country than America in the 1950s. Yet despite the long ordeal and terrible cost, South Vietnam was saved in 1973 only to be lost in 1975. The US defeat in Vietnam was a POLITICAL choice. Not a military necessity.
Had the US protected an independent but vulnerable South Vietnam in 1973 and 1974, that country would have most likely followed the model of South Korea. Millions of southeast Asians would not have become Boat people, and refugees, or been sent to the gulags and re-education camps. A viable US backed democratic Vietnam would have stabilized the region and almost certainly prevented the neighboring Cambodian genocide in which one-fifth of that country, 2 million people were slaughtered by its communist leadership. And much of the bitterness over the war on both sides of the American political spectrum still with us today would have vanished. And for the communist Vietnamese, the instigators and aggressors of the terrible conflict, what was it all for? Today ironically the Vietnamese government aspires to nothing more than the capitalist affluence. That it once reviled.

Way to minimize the impact of this list by including Trump's indictment, anybody that has looked at -any- of that knows it was banana republic level stuff.
The problem with the Trump conviction on this list is its irrelevance. All the other 19 of the entries occurred while a president was in office. For Trump, it was a personal matter he was thrown into by scumbags. He hadn't been president for 3 and 1/2 years.
So this list is immediately invalid as it doesn’t include any Biden “highlights”. Seriously, that guy could fill a top 20 on his own, yet he’s completely left off…hmm, wonder why

Last night's debate" which I didn't even really watch, is not worthy of this list, but then neither are half of these selections. Jefferson's "embarrassment" for example, was merely a practical act in response to Great Britian's acts of piracy -- an internationally recognized act of terrorism. If Jefferson had done nothing at all, American trade [and therefore its economy, would have still suffered. neither was Washington's attempt to cover costs of War by enacting a liquor tax, an "embarrassment." It is the reaction of the people that is embarrassing to me. I mean, we were acting like Russians back then. . . .
The worst events, after the genocidal ones, were the two acts of sedition. Even George Bush the Lessor's Patriot Act [which you failed to mention] echoed these horrendous acts under Adams and Wilson. To tell an American that he/she cannot criticize is like a gag order. Imagine our founding fathers being told not to complain in the 1760's.

Big question, can US of A. now do better?
4:00 "Read my lips. No new taxes." The situation got worse. A USN&WR article argued that whoever was elected would have to raise taxes somehow to deal with the deficit. A week or two later, the magazine printed a letter from President Bush denying that he would ever have to do such a thing. Following his tax increase, he campaigned against Clinton: "Clinton raised taxes XXX number of times. Bush raised taxes only once." Each sentence was a whopper.
