Had cryogenic treatment today for a small area of sun damage. Stung slightly and ten hours later, no pain. Hopefully it will clear it up. I’m going to cover it tomorrow, I think.
Thank you so much for explaining this I just went to my dermatologist and she did the freezing. It’s only been two days and I notice a red circle around them. Just wanted to make sure that it’s normal
Very informative. More than I knew. I have had procedure and the blisters are large and sore. It hurts, don’t let no one tell you it don’t. Men’s are on inside of both feet, cannot put a shoe on. In week one and no changes. So far if I had to do again, I will pass
Hi! How did yours heal? I'd like to know :). I just had the same procedure done on my face and I am scared because they just look brown and just one is blistering
Thanks for the great video! 1) What is the difference in cosmesis of the treatment of a seborrheic keratosis between cryotherapy and curettage+electrodesiccation? 2) Is there any treatment for seborrheic keratosis yielding a better cosmesis?
If I'm worried about a scar I prefer to use electrocautery. I don't curette it, I let the seborrheic keratosis turn grayish and let it fall off on its own. I never use cryo on anyone of color to avoid hypo-pigmented scars. There is a topical medicine called Eskata that came out a few years ago that removes sebs. It is supposed to be good for cosmesis, but is expensive if I remember correctly and can also cause hypo-pigmentation I beleive.
Just had this done today on about 5 spots. Having been a life guard (and hen in the CG) for years, I had alot of exposure to the sun. This stings like a shot does, but not a big thing.....

If anybody can answer my question, it would be amazing. I got cryotherapy on 3 “warts” on my fingers about 3-4 months ago. One is like the skin is raised, and it does not look like my skin. It’s pink. The other two look also pink with slight a raise to them. My dermatologist said this is normal, and I will need to wait one year for this to heal and get back to normal. She also said it will leave a scar. Is all of this information normal and correct?
Having this done on my left cheek today. I’ve tried home plasma burning it off with a pen but didn’t work, only lightened the mole. So nervous it’s going to leave me with something more highly noticeable :S

I had a benign lesion removed from my cheek by freezing about 8 months ago. It fell off after a couple of weeks and looked fine. I noticed a couple days ago that it has started to grow back. Is that normal?
It can but you have to be careful not to scar or alter the pigment in the area. Usually cryotherapy, when done properly, does not cause the hair to permanently fall out.
how can i visit you? I'm from the philippines :( how can i contact you? I have keloid and i want to remove it, what keloid treatment would you recommend? And i want the permanent result :(
Usually time will help. If it has been more than 1 year since the procedure then it is likely not going to change. You can always see a dermatologist to get another opinion though on options.
It is honestly not my favorite. It is ok for treating keloids in ears if you do it properly - however, I stopped doing this years ago when superficial radiation therapy was shown to be more effective for keloids.
It can be used for keloids and I have done that in the past. However, I think there are usually better modalities to treat these now like an injection of steroid into the area or cutting them out followed by Superficial Radiotherapy.
