Sharks had a good run there for 15 + years.. they along with Detroit were one of the most consistent franchises in the NHL. Unfortunately they just never reached the peak.. 2 wins away in 2016. It was hard to watch that game 6 loss knowing how difficult it is to get to the Finals. I just hope they can win it once in my lifetime.

I was maybe 11 years old during that game 7. I went to bed crying that night and waking up to look at the nhl app seeing that they won was the best memory of nhl for me

The future looks pretty bright. Things will be tough but we have some good talent coming up and I think we will get back to our former glory, and then some.
management made some mistakes but at the end of the day it was the core players aging out that put the cup contention run to bed. Marleau, Thornton, Pavelski, Couture, Vlasic, and Burns were so deserving of a cup. I hope Couture stays on board and can maybe have one more shot to lead the new guys like Eklund, Smith, Musty, Bordeleau, Bystedt and Thrun to success before he bows out.

I find it humorous calling a 15 year span of perpetual disappointment and falling short of expectations “golden years”. Most of the highlights here are regular season or round 1/2. Also, why show the penguins celebrating the cup win IN San Jose as a “highlight”. I know why, because it’s the closest the sharks will ever be to a Stanley Cup until…… let me know when the Sharks business is ready to pull a 2010 Blackhawk’s, 2012 Kings, a 2018 Capitals, or 2019 Blues, or even a 2024 Panthers.
