I do agree that the strength scaling is pretty inconsistent but I believe Goku does have the strength to punch universes into collapse. This can be supported by the Battle of Gods Saga where just the act of Beerus and Goku clashing fists alone would have been able to destroy 3 universes, as was said in the video. Although you could say Beerus was the main contributor of the feat, Goku has grown much stronger since that feat. So in theory, Goku can clock in strength measurements over uni+ at the very least as of his current portrayal. Also I like to think Frieza using energy attacks to destroy planets is more of a preference type of thing. He prefers to cleanly atomise planets rather than making a mess of a planet with his fists, spreading planet-rubble all over the cosmos.

Golden Frieza is as strong as goku in SSJB, there punches don't destroy planets or anything (if frieza would, he could destroy the planet with one punch) and there strenght are stated as uni or even multi ? I think that it is only there techniques like kamehameha, hakai or genkidama that could destroy planets, galaxies or maybe universes (we have never seen someone destroying a Universe, only Zeno had). For the durability, Goku can tank a lot of punches, Ki attacks that in theory could destroy a lot of galaxies, but almost die from a laser beam from Mr Big nose in dbs (during the fight against Frieza) ?
In conclusion, there are 3 possibilities :1-The laser beam is 2-C or above
2-The strenght of the punches in db series aren't that strong (like Star level or Galaxies)
3-(The most likely) The plot make stronger than he is sometimes (Goku vs Beerus) or weaker than he
is (Goku and the laser beam)

I do agree that the strength scaling is pretty inconsistent but I believe Goku does have the strength to punch universes into collapse.
This can be supported by the Battle of Gods Saga where just the act of Beerus and Goku clashing fists alone would have been able to destroy 3 universes, as was said in the video.
Although you could say Beerus was the main contributor of the feat, Goku has grown much stronger since that feat.
So in theory, Goku can clock in strength measurements over uni+ at the very least as of his current portrayal.
Also I like to think Frieza using energy attacks to destroy planets is more of a preference type of thing. He prefers to cleanly atomise planets rather than making a mess of a planet with his fists, spreading planet-rubble all over the cosmos.
