    My monthly spread
    Is killing me
    (And I)
    I must confess
    I still believe
    (Still believe)

So I love planners, but honestly I’m not a planner. I’m a to do list person. If I miss it that day..oh well. I’ll move it to another day or month etc. I love watching your videos because you are a planner, and it inspires me to try stuff out.

After spending many years watching so many different planner videos from 100s of content creators with monthly and weekly schedules - which never end up being successful, as the weeklies end up making me feel burnt out rather quickly throughout the week and it's also at the same time hard to plan in a monthly way in ahead of time due to not knowing for sure if that whole month is going to go as planned.
Coming across your channel these past few days, with these bi-weekly (aka. fortnightly) view of the planner has been so much more helpful and thus has made me look at my planners in a much for relaxed & easily spread out way.

I really appreciate you mentioning holidays on the Wheel and your candor in general. Thank you for the effort and time you put into this content.

Right? So so many planner channels are Christian or, at minimum, culturally Christian (Christmas, Easter etc). Not that being Christian and believing in tarot or horoscopes is necessarily mutually exclusive I know loads of folks who do both. But I myself am not Christian, so that said, I love seeing some diversity to my content and planner people who are more like me!

This made me realize how much I’m not actually scheduling/addressing, ie chores/deep cleaning tasks (I just do them as my brain remembers or I’m confronted with them), self care (cause those take time and deserve weight in our plans!), and who knows what else as I start to brain dump. Definitely adding a new category (or more) to my monthly spreads.
My monthlies currently are my husband’s work schedule (so I know when I’m on all hands on deck kid duty), appointments (and mentally preparing if appointments and husband’s work days coincide), necessary reminders (like early dismissal school days so I don’t forget to pick up my kids!), and bills (so I can properly budget per paycheck and add in fun activities if we have the money for it), on top of birthdays, holidays, and payday reminders. But that means my monthlies are FULL!
I feel like I have to have all this info together because it all impacts each other in what I have time and availability to do. I’m curious how other people handle a TON of info that they feel they need to see altogether. I’ve started considering breaking up my monthlies into multiple monthlies for one month and doing a ton of cross referencing between spreads when filling in weeklies and dailies. Worried that might be too cumbersome. Has anyone tried something like that before?

I tried your bi-weekly planning and it really helped me visualize my weeks and all I had to do. I think it’s the most useful tool I have used to date. I like the advice especially to not get too granular on the monthly overview, but still have a plan for getting done what you want . Thanks 🙏.

I really love your process, especially when you share about not overloading yourself. It took me so long to realize that i was not making enough space in my life for certain things like self care but also even just home care tasks because I never scheduled things like that. I would always unintentionally overload myself and then fall behind and end up even more overloaded. I'm kinder to myself now and I appreciate seeing you plan this way as well, its a good reminder to be purposeful about taking up the space I need to take up in my own life. Also I dont know how to use a monthly, once I used a vertical weekly my schedule made sense, so this was inspiring in that sense too.

I love the act of planning so much that I often plan way too much activities for myself 😅

I have tried, but I really have no use for a monthly planner. Strictly a weekly girl, but mark things ahead of time in pencil as I change my pen colour every month and only chose it at the last minute. I have a calendar hanging by the phone for quick reference to dates, but never fill it in, just flip it over. Maybe I should get out more!😂

Your brain works a lot like mine. I basically had June off (I am an educator) and I put a bunch of color coded stickies in the top of a whiteboard calendar to be able to flex what went in during the month and what I needed to plan for. I left the “need to plan the specific date” ones on top until booked, and that really helped.

I’m so glad I found your channel! Over the years in undergrad and now grad school, I’ve developed an aversion to paper planning bc it felt like it just didn’t … work??? for me. But I’ve been binging your videos and it is so affirming to hear someone emphasize that a planner should be functional *for* that person! It’s been so exciting to try new things lately and I’ve even started time tracking to audit where I’m spending my time these next couple of weeks :)

Thanks for another insightful video. It's interesting to watch your planning process. I use a Weeks as my main planner and some experimentation this year (what was it about 2023?), I decided I want my monthly spreads as "clean" as possible so I only write in appointments. (I also glue in square-sized printouts of book covers on the day I started reading a book -- so that takes care of deco!) and use the checkboxes as 'reminders' of the main projects. I do planning on the weeklies -- first column for the focus of the day, second two for to do lists, etc. and the first column on the notes page is where your 'distraction method' lives now -- this is where I jot down what kept me from the day's focus.
I may change set up again but the distraction method will always have a place in my planners!

What holiday is on 01 August? Is it a state holiday? As for monthly, I just put in my hard and fast appointments. Sometimes I will do a countdown to a big event or deadline that is upcoming. I put in birthdays. Travel, etc. Much like you shown, However, no date nights, I doubt I could talk my husband into going out. Heck I could not get him to go to the Summer Castle in Denmark that is only open one month of a year in July. So basically it is a hard and fast calendar for myself, if my husband is included, It usually his roleplay group with his high school friends that still play well after graduating, or his appointment, and his work travel.
