Came here from Amandas favourites and the 25 day collab - love colour coding, and you've given me such great ideas about making bullet points for colour coded lists - going to try that in my new planner, thank you!

Mmm something about color coded things just make my brain happy 😂🙌🏽 love this tip! I def need to incorporate it a little more in my planner because right now it’s all just a blob of whatever color pen/marker I can find and I think it just becomes a mess in my head when I look at my schedule 🥴

I color coded all through school, including college. My folders even matched. I used the color for that class as the highlighter too. My calendar was colorful due to the highlighting, but it was easy to glance. Helped making my adhd go unnoticed even longer. I do it now to be able to glance at my weekly and see my plans. It's down to just the icon, notifier in color with black ink for the writing. If necessary, I draw a header box, highlighter to color it, and know that list is important to focus on in that area.

I absolutely love colour coding. It is the best way for me to see what i have going on. I would love to see all of the subcategories with regard to your planner. You showed yellow, and it was great.

I am not a color coder but I love the way that you do it in the petite planner. I have done it that way before and fell off. Thank you for sharing your tip.

I’ve color coded for years! Mostly when my boys were young, I had a color that represented each of them, one for me, one for family, one for school that was both of them, etc. I didn’t really do by categories. I just got my dot markers from Makse and am looking forward to using that more in 2024!

I love color coding. I have a color for each family member, as well as one for work, school and my sorority. I have been an avid user of the Frixion pens since 2015! I have the markers and highlighters too, but I hadn't used them as much. Thanks for giving me the idea of using them for bullet points and headers 🥰

I do enjoy color coding. I usually do it with stickers. Love those dot markers! I’ve wanted a set.

I color code my tasks by my 5 Major Goal Areas (8 or 10 are too many for me. I found my 5 by working through Julie Morgenstern's book Time Management from the Inside Out). My Major Goal Areas have remained the same for the past 20+ years, although the Goals in each area have changed over the years. My 5 Major Goal Areas & their colors are: Me - Pink, Condo (or House) - Orange, Finance - Green, Creative - Teal, Family - Purple. I plan in a Personal-size ring planner on Monthly & Weekly pages that I've made & printed on Tomoe River Paper. I use Sakura Pigma Micron pens in size 01 to color code items in my planner; I plan the month & the week by my Major Goal Areas, writing the tasks for each area its color. When I plan my day, tasks are written in the color. I cross out or forward w/ a black pen. I use highlighters (neon - I'm old-school) on the top of notes pages to categorize, and along the edges of project pages, again to categorize.
