    Soundcore have now entered the bluetooth glasses game with their brand new FRAMES. They offer a much more sleek (and interchangeable) design than the competitors and might just be the best bluetooth glasses under $200! This is my in-depth look into everything they offer, and why I think these are much better alternative to Bose Frames.

    These look much nicer than the 2nd gen Bose. It's all about sound quality though... Hard to imagine those thin arms can produce better sound than the chunky bose

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  2 года назад

      It's a very good point. I think Soundcore can compensate for this with the speaker design surrounding the ear - that definitely helps with the sound a lot. I personally feel that it's less important when the sound is open to your environment anyway though. The external noise, wind etc will affect sound quality to a greater extent than the difference in audio quality between Bose and Soundcore I think

    I agree these are best attempt at bluetooth glasses but they missed at least 2 tricks:
    1) They should have launched with prescription lens online partners with their dimensions shared for the compatible lens so you can buy some compatible lenses or frames with lens. At least one partner per major markets (USA, UK, DE, CA).
    2) They should have addressed the sports and specific large verticals sectors. So cycling frames and eye protection for construction.
    Going forward they also need to make compatible with the connector so lens investment can still benefit from newer arms.
    Chances are those who buy this 1st version will have buyer's regret as you can see how they will be improving the sound and the microphones in the next version, so the best bluetooth glasses will be the successors to these.

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  2 года назад +2

      The only issue with prescription lens options at the time of purchase is increased cost. It would be ideal if this could be done easily, but partnering up would have a significant cost impact, this would then need to be passed onto the consumer and make the frames more expensive. So I can understand why it’s been left as a sort of “do it yourself” for adding in your own prescription lenses.
      I think more frame styles (including sports styles) is definitely a potential avenue to explore though! Not so sure about eye protection because then you’re bringing in a whole new safety aspect. Soundcore are an audio brand company, so this would need a lot of research and would have legal ramifications as soon as you introduce a safety element.
      I don’t necessarily think people will have buyers remorse because of the mic and sound quality - that’s already a strength of the frames! But it’s inevitable that the “next gen” of a product will better the first!

    • @carlstein3349
      @carlstein3349 2 года назад +1

      @@insidetechltd I meant you have had it so you buy lenses from a partner have them been shared the lens thickness and size and some of the 10 frames having lenses you can buy. So it would not increase cost for everyone, only those who wanted prescription. As it is now, it's down to each individual to figure it out locally and EVENTUALLY they share how they did so others can follow. I am not advocating Soundcore sell prescription lenses, they just let a click-thru type to partners who you pay separately.

    • @insidetechltd

    • @insidetechltd

      I think that's always going to be the case with an open speaker design. Maybe combining it with bone conduction technology could help improve the bass for future models? Ultimately though I think people should accept that you won't get the same audio fidelity on your glasses as you would earphones/headphones 🤷‍♂️

  • @tonybanks9015

    I think you really missed the mark when comparing these to earbuds. Some of the higher end buds have an ambient pass through mode that allow you to hear your surroundings, but generally, they will get you hit by a car if they don't have that feature. When I wear my soundcore frames to work my coworkers assume I'm hung over, but it let's me listen to music and hear them at the same time. You seem to place a lot of stock in aesthetics, but we're not all as pretty as you are, and the most stylish sunglasses won't help. I think I'll prefer Bose sound quality, and don't care what others think of their appearance or the fact that I'm wearing bluetooth glasses. I've ordered Bose Tempo, and can't wait to compare them to the Soundcore frames.

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  2 года назад +1

      I'm sorry you feel that way. I highlighted how the audio experience is different from earbuds, including the cons. But I did specifically say that these aren't going to replace earbuds (and aren't designed to) and that they offer a different listening experience. I talked about how Frames let your ears stay open to your surroundings and how they give you a sense of 'freedom and convenience that even earbuds don't necessarily give you'. I'm not sure if you wrote your comment before listening to the whole video, but I feel I not only touched on your points, but specifically made them myself too.
      As for placing an emphasis on the aesthetics: these are a device to be worn on your face...I think the appearance is a major factor (in a way that earbuds are not). I also highlighted appearance since this is the main major benefit over competitors - people typically want to know "why should I get these over X..."
      Anyway, thanks for watching - I genuinely appreciate it!

      @@insidetechltd The Bose have a much warmer midrange, but it seems to drag the highs down. It doesn't do well with symbols. They get much louder, and don't distort like the soundcore do at higher volumes. They use a USB type C charger, so bo worries about the manufacturer not selling the charging cable separately. The downsides are that I'm stuck with one style, there's no EQ adjustment in the app, no firmware updates, the controls aren't as user friendly. Press button once for play/pause, press twice for track forward, press three times for track back, swipe for volume. As far as I can tell, there's no way to activate voice assistant, and trying to feel out that little button for the controls isn't nearly as quick and easy as just tapping or swiping the side. Overall, I find myself wishing for a Bose Soundcore Hybrid, with Bose sound (better highs added), battery life, and tempo frames, with Soundcore controls, voice assistant, USB C charging, app, and replaceable frames. Neither of them have bass, but as I've said before, Bose has more midrange bass. Hope this helps.

    I pass on these. #1. They are too expensive. I had already reached the conclusion that I could use a pair of iPod-esque TWS and regular sunglasses to the same end at a fraction of the price. #2. Soundcore is passive aggressive. On the one hand they really do have Excellent customer service but on the other if you take them up on a great sounding(pun fully intended)pre launch offer, you're to see a supposedly updated version with more colors features and other options 4 or 5 months after money is spent and the customer is thinking "You're" state of the art with their products. Then lo and behold here comes the "New Version"! And hasn't even been 6 months nevermind a year. That really ticks me off BIG TIME!

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  2 года назад +2

      I think this happens across the entire tech industry though really. It moves along so fast that there's always new tech on the horizon - so you've just got to be happy with your offer at the time and nothing else matters!

    • @hazelsunderstood6784

      Tech is just that way. Bought earbuds recently and now I see this. I'm not mad about it. It's exciting and interesting to see what the future has in store. New tech is just a sign of human innovation. As long as people aren't killing themselves with stress, and the company treats them right - than everything should be good.

    Naomi Wu reviewed these and made the obvious observation, what you going to do when your battery runs out, no glasses whilst you charge them, no ear buds whilst you charge them. With a pair of Ray-bans and a set of AKG earbuds, you have both, all day. charge them when you sleep. You lost the chance of a subscriber by not being up front.................... I guess that is why she has 100x the number of subscribers!

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  2 года назад +4

      Wow, hard to know where to begin with this comment...
      So you can still keep wearing Frames as normal sunglasses when the battery runs out...just like any other pair of glasses.
      If a pair of earbuds runs out of battery, you can't listen to music. Just like Frames. You can also charge these whilst you sleep...so no difference there.
      There was nothing to be 'up front' about with these points because what you're saying affects both products in the same way - it's just that here you're combining two products into one. I'm also completely happy to miss out on a subscriber from someone who's quick to try and tease a RUclipsr for 'missing out' on their sub - especially for such a ridiculous reason. That's not really the vibe in this community.
      I'm not in competition with other RUclipsrs.
      Enjoy the rest of your day!

      Why do you feel the need for a review to have such a patently obvious point included? Its like a car review asking what you'd do for transport when the car is out of gas. You can't drive while pumping the gas, so that's a knock against the car. Anyone with half a functioning brain cell would be able to realize that you can't use a thing while charging a thing. So why do you need to be spoon fed this incredibly asinine piece of information?
