Thank you for making this. People forget how huge of a difference software can make. In the world we are in now. Hardware specs come second to how the software makes it work.
It's amazing one plus decided to ruin the OnePlus 9 camera just before the OnePlus 10 launched so they could say that that camera was better when they actually downgraded the wide angle camera as the wide angle on the OnePlus 9 pro was second to none. The color science could have been a little better on Android 11 but Android 12 really ruined it and ruined the camera for the OnePlus 9 so I will not upgrade to it. That way reviewers could show how bad the OnePlus 9 pro was and how much better than OnePlus 10pro is. The reality is if you have OnePlus 9 pro on Android 11 compare it with the OnePlus 10 pro on Android 12 the OnePlus 9 holds up pretty well there might be some minor improvements to the OnePlus 10 pro but the update ruins the camera so it's not worth doing
hey grant, long time viewer here, I wish you add more conclusions to these videos where you gave your own thoughts/summary on the matter, especailly on a video like this, thanks!
Thanks for the video! Until now i thought Android12 without proper OxygenOS was complete BS for my 1+ 9 Pro - then i saw this and the video recording looks like it's entirely in a different league than 11. The colors look miles better! This alone could pursuade me to upgrade - gonna check out what else has changed. Maybe we can finally use the performance cores of the Snapdragon 888...
Hey Grant, thanks for your videos. Would you consider upgrading the OP9Pro to Android 12 or recommend staying on 11? If it were you, considering camera changes and any other things they may have altered…
@@GrantLikesTech gotcha. Video is somewhat important to me. I also prefer OOS11 look and feel and not so much the new boxy look. Can that be changed at all? I apologize if you mentioned this already
The low-light still photo performance seems better on OS11. Contrast is higher on the Os12 which sometimes crushes the shadows especially at night the pics come out a bit darker on Os12.
Great review and comparation! Kinda surprised with how much is OOS12 an upgrade compared to previous version regarding photos. Video stabilisation is better on Android 12 but colors pop up more, maybe this will been tone down with next update. But overall great news!
HI there! I was wondering if you're going to make a similar video for OS 12 vs OS 13. I have 9 Pro and was thinking of a comparison video before making the update...
Hey man, great content. Din terms of quality photo would you say Os12 is better. I love photography as an amateur can do and just got this phone, so now I'm wondering if the update would give me more detailed photos.
I was surprisingly pleased with the improvement in most part with the Photography improvement, and then the video shoot appears...what is happening with that color...?😐
This was a great video but I'm not sure that I want to upgrade to Android 12 even though the operating system looks great I'm not thrilled with what it's done to the camera
Oh man.. I gotta say I like what they've done with the sharpness with 12 but is it just me or is it way too saturated?? For selfie video, maybe they could've focused more on getting rid of the screen judder rather than adding a bokeh background, IMHO. Thanks for this video, man! Great job! Please keep em comin'! 👍
I cant believe they gave in to the pressure....that's a completely different aesthetic and motif than the original....whats the point of a 3 yr hasselblad deal if you don't have the intestinal fortitude to go your own way and believe in their vision?...the OP9 pro stood out because of the way it reacted to light and shadow and it's cool chilly tone...I thought it was refreshing and stood out against the stylized aesthetics of apple, samsung, and google...and the results are all over the place...some things got better in 12, some things got worse...the detail in macro was reduced...who would want that?....everybody else blends skin tones into a few dominant hues; the OP in 11was really good at letting all the pigmentation variances be accentuated...more accurate...but they decided to beautify instead then they darkened the low light performance, just to make night sight be a more dramatic difference; where in 11 a lot of situations you could get really interesting dramatic images without night sight it almost does reek of a conspiracy to hamstring the OP9, so they can draw a contrast with the OP10, without people harping on how they downgraded to a cheaper sensor suite...I had leaned towards this over a P6 pro for multiple reasons....but this doesn't inspire confidence in oneplus
Hey buddy, great comparison video. To me somehow the quality after OS12 update is not that good, the front camera is somehow grainy and not clear at all. Let me know your thoughts!

the colours in the video look terrible on the new oxygen OS 12, and that's a shame, because I was planning on getting a oneplus 9 for Christmas and the all-around decent camera was one of the main reasons for this, would u recommend I either just don't update the firmware and wait until they maybe update it so it looks better, or get another phone entirely, it was such a good deal when I asked for it but now I'm thinking it's not
Get the pixel 6. The only thing you'll miss from oneplus 9 is the fast charging. I own a 9 pro and my only disappointment is the photo processing and the lacking of periscope lens. Though the photo processing can fix with GCAM but the periscope will be just a dream.
@@johnwick5877 i would but it is over £150 more expensive, would you say it is worth it!? and as you said, you can fix it with GCAM, so is the video in GCAM not as saturated and reliable and stuff

Also, maybe others will post their video results which may differ from unit to unit. Also, consider trying for yourself and returning it if you get video results you don't like.

hi, I sencerame preferred the colors of the oxygen11, the oxygen12 looks too much like the more saturated colors of Oppo, even the audio doesn't seem to hear it better in the oxygen12, I don't know how well this update was done ...
Oxygen 12 saturating everything way too much. That's just how mainland Chinese users like it. Photos have to be over saturated, flashy and unnatural-looking.
Grant, have u ever thought about comparing more than 2 phone cameras at once, a comparison between the pixel 6, vivo x70 pro + (in zeiss mode), iphone 13 pro and samsung galaxy s21 ultra or oneplus 9 (with gcam) would be insane!
Done several triple comparisons, including iPhone 13 Pro Max vs X70 Pro+ vs S21 Ultra in my last video. Also compared the 6 Pro vs X70 Pro+ and showed Zeiss mode results.

The results of the model under Android 12 remind me strangely of those of the One Plus 7 Pro when it was released, before the updates 🤔.

Is it me or the zoom lens is now definitely sharper than android 11? It looks like equal to exynos s21 ultra 3x zoom no?
Why can't I get a 1080p 60 FPS option in my OnePlus 9's Front Camera after Android 12 update?
Hey, my OnePlus 9 didn't get this android 12 update. I didn't notice till now. How do I get it? In settings it says my system is up to date though
Though android 12 is over saturated, i still like the video of 12
For a couple of days now the OP 9pro has been blowing the highlights ever since I updated....any of u guys facing this issue?....any solutions plz?
After the upgrade I found especially low light photos were more grainy and this is why I went back to Android 11
How did you went back?
In the camera app, it is no longer possible to change the aspect ratio of videos ( 21:9 ) in OOS 12
Nope, no option to change aspect ratio.
Well, in this 600$ range should i pick this 9 Pro or the Vivo X70 Pro, 550$ (non-plus).
China version's, exynos v1 on Vivo
Oxygen 11 better oxygen 13 camera mn 9pro oneplus

How did you get 120 fps my OnePlus 9 only supports 60fps in video!! Please tell me if you know!.
