I'm a former OP3 user and currently using OP7 pro.
We lost our aim, our identity. Even worse, they gave us a full screen with the pop-up camera of the OP7 and then went back to the middle age.
This is my last OnePlus phone, I'm going back to the 400-500€ pricetag.
But Trump killed Xiaomi too so don't know which pop-up I'll choose next...

for 400$+ difference I think the OnePlus 9 Pro is a beast.
I just picked up 2 for my wife and I. FREE at tmobile with 24 auto payments. This was on March 25 2022
I agree the s21 ultra is diffently better in almost every way but the OnePlus 9 pro is still not a bad phone at.

Once again, extremely entertaining and interesting. As the owner of an S21 Ultra I enjoy seeing all the comparisons between all the different brands as I completely enjoy my ultra. I've never met anyone with a OnePlus but knowing the capabilities of the competition just in case I bump into one of my friends with one gives me a little advantage:-). As always you are appreciated and have a friend in Columbus ohio!

instead of improving video quality, they focused on distortion which no phone has distortion. and they gave money to hasselblad which overprices its cameras. hasselblad overcharged for them probably little improvement. iphone still the top in night video quality. but in daytime video samsung is better. huawei still the top in daytime photos.
hasselblad cameras are overpriced and they dont do video alot, oneplus wasted their money. probably for logo.

OnePlus has many ways to improve. Hassleblad, Zeiss won't work unless the software calibration is not fair with the camera. I think it's the most weakest aspect of Oxygen/Hydrogen OS that they are not giving the better in camera competition.

It sucks that many of OP9's shots, especially the darkness problem Arun mentioned, is still no different from my 7T. I'm not buying another OnePlus device unless they improve the camera. Screw the Hasselblad branding. It's clearly OnePlus' software processing. Wish they'd spend that $150 million on hiring better imaging professionals.
I thought this could be my return to Oneplus but it is not. I agree, the money could have been spent elsewhere. The camera system on their phones is something I always wish they could improve upon. I would love to own a Hasselblad but I rather actually buy one of their cameras.
Also consider the price, Who will spend this much amount.

Bravo - The oneplus 9 ( minus pro) arrived last week and no comparison on the camera to the Pro - but I'm more than satisfied. The over sharpness of the camera was immediately noticeable but I like it. If you make a living taking photos that's probably a big problem. If your just snapping memories this is a great camera /phone - I almost forgot it - it's a phone!
Thorough review, really like the format and the categories, and multiple lighting situations for the shots. You did great as the photo shoot subject as well. I still think the iPhone is better for video as well (I'm a Sammy user) and pics are great on both. Amazing review!

The only reason why the 9 pro’s camera disappoints me is because of how much Oneplus hyped about the camera abilities
