I visit the DPS every year and it's always such a fun day! Please keep in mind that you should bring cash because a lot of vendors don't accept any cards and there's no ATM nearby 😅

I'm also excited for the Dutch Pen Show! Being Dutch myself travelling there is easy, it's just around 50 minutes by car. I plan to buy an urushi pen from Tamenuri Studio, one of the pen makers present. Because this will be a more expensive purchase I'd like to feel the pen in my hand before I buy it. I also hope to get a nib grind done, perhaps by Nib Lab or Anabelle. I signed up for two workshops (one of them coincides with yours) as well. Just 3 more sleeps to go 😉

I am sure you will be awesome at the pen show, and I wish I was going. I have opted this year to try my first pen show so I’m going to a smaller one in St. Louis. I did find on their website a list of, I guess you would call it Pen Show etiquette. And it did mention the backpack issue. Another thing that I thought was a good suggestion was to make sure to ask the vendor if you can try the pens. And make sure your hands are clean. But not just grab it and assume you can, you probably can but to show respect, it would be good to ask. Can’t wait to see your comments and the videos when you return.

I second that ! I'm from Paris and live in London yet Utrecht is one of my favourite cities. I love the canal and the shop with the swing on the canal!! Must visit the city centre.

Have a good journey and a nice loaded day at the Dutch Pen Show in Utrecht. I was there 2 years ago and bought two fountain pens there. There is a big table with inks outside the room to inkswatch.
