Like your video. What chest pack are you running? Looks like a Fishpond, but can't find it on their site.

The two biggest and most common complaints of the H3, lack of hook keeper and white label, and Orvis didn’t fix either one. Fortunately, nice scenic video, thanks.

Thanks for the feedback and we are glad you enjoyed the video! We do hear that often. For me, the missing hook keeper is a non-issue. I rarely use the keepers on the rods I have as I prefer to wrap my line around my reel and back to the first guide. That way you are more likely to have a fly line out through the top guide and don't have to fight to pull it through. This helps when moving from spot to spot with the efficiency of fishing. I do understand the convivence of a hook keeper though!

I don’t buy rods from brands that exclude something as minor as a hook keeper from their rods - makes me wonder what else they are skimping on.

That way you are more likely to have a fly line out through the top guide and don't have to fight to pull it through. This helps when moving from spot to spot with the efficiency of fishing. Could they be saving money on a (possibly) unnecessary component to put more value elsewhere? Some brands put the most expensive items on their rods to say they did. You can put a Lamborghini body on a Honda and it won't change the performance of the vehicle but it might make it look better...

Yeah. Actually, I feel like Orvis is saying this rod is for people who know how useless a traditional hook keeper would be on a rod that we’re trying to lighten.

@@AvidMaxI don’t care about the traditional hook keeper. It’s probably just me, but I can’t get past the Orvis white rod label. Can someone give me a practical reason for it, other than just more Orvis elitism? For awhile, I thought they were trying to lose that reputation.
