  • Today we have a comparison and review of the new LED Colight Trailblazer 6.5" off road lights. These are an affordable High power/long range spot light from the growing offerings from LED Colight. Not only are these lights fantastic for lighting up the road, but they come with a party piece... Integrated marker lights and DRL lights!! Super happy with these, come see why!!

    While Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) may be considered by some in the US as aesthetic, there was a lot of testing and data collected in Europe with regards to the safety benefits of DRLs. Even on a sunny day in summer, when you are driving with the sun in front of you, you are more likely to take notice of a car driving at you if that car has any kind of front-facing lights. DRLs were developed so that you wouldn't have to have your full headlights on. They are, of course, not a substitute for headlights.
    I enjoy pretty aesthetics as much as anyone else, but your vehicle won't be very pretty when you're wrecked on the side of the road because someone didn't see you, and it was enough to just have some lights on. So, I encourage the use of DRLs in appropriate situations.
    BTW, nice install. Those lights are impressive.

    Nice lights, looks like theyve increased the price to 220$ per set before any discounts.

      Ya, another friend of mine noted the same. With my discount code he was at about 190 bucks. Still a good deal in my opinion, I'm still very happy with the lights. They're bright as hell. But, less of a good deal. Maybe they'll go on sale again soon....

    I need a set of these for the Jeep. My KC spots suck.

      So get some. Use that code, they're like 150 bucks. But they don't come with connectors. You can buy the 2 pin deutsch connectors on Amazon, or get a while harness from colight for like 20 bucks.

    Great review. I am very happy with their products. I am currently running 3 of their lights on my Montero. I put together a video a few months ago of my review.
    The one thing I highly recommend is replacing the hardware. Unless they upgraded the hardware to Stainless steel...the included hardware will start to rust.

      I didn't REALLY inspect the hardware, but it appeared to be stainless to me. I'll keep an eye on it for sure though. 👍

    Can you drive on the road with these? Fog and or snow conditions? Or are they off road only.

    • @EverymanOverland
      @EverymanOverland  7 месяцев назад +1

      These would be off road only. I think they're way too bright and long range for fog and snow. These are focused for long distance, they'd just blind you in the snow. I have a set of their 4" motorcycle lights that switch from white to yellow, and they work great for driving lights that can switch to bad weather lights.

      @@NorthwestBronco you're welcome. If you watch this video it shows the install of most of my lights, and at the end I show the pattern of all the lights in my driveway, and out on the road. It's long, but if you skip to about 27 minutes you can see the motorcycle lights at night in the white and the yellow...
