2:00 - When "Abby" tells Sara to "Tell Mr. Fish and Loaves I was wrong," I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that she was saying she was wrong about giving him a sign to go into the woods. When I saw that scene, I took it to mean that she's saying she was wrong about everyone being asleep, and killing them in an attempt to wake them up. (Or perhaps, if the voice Sara heard *_isn't_* Abby, but wants Boyd to think she is so it can mess with him, it could mean that Abby was *_right_* , and that people who die in Fromland *_are_* released back to the "real world.")
It's possible that the Abby in contact with Sarah is the real Abby and the Abby that Boyd sees is a fake. Real Abby would be apologetic, supportive and protective of Boyd. This is how Abby sounds when spoken of by Sarah. It's almost like Sarah is hearing the cries and dismay of those who have died in fromland and are now trapped there. Fake Abby has been seen by Boyd to be captured in a spider's web and then screaming at him, another time she was encouraging him to give up and let people die, another time she seemed to be able to control or at least stop the monsters. I think they portrayed Abby as a strong person and they made her break so easily I feel like she would have been a good asset to the show I think they dropped the ball on that one
The whole "Boyd, come back to me." Thing is an allusion to the scene in season one where Boyd visits Abby's grave and muses "Maybe I'm in a hospital somewhere and you and Ellis are by my bedside trying to wake me up." That tracks with Tabitha waking up in a hospital too.
I wonder if Abby is higher end monsters. Like there are 2 types of ones that look like people we really know like that kid that Julie knew and the monsters that change their face with all the teeth
The monsters who change their face are rhe same ones like the kid Julie saw... I don't she knows him he called to her she looked confused and kinda dazed I think since the monsters enjoy torturing people for maximum fear and dispare that they have some sort of telepathical powers where they can see or sense the bad / traumatic memories of people that's how they know names and stuff and it'd possible thay kid was posing as Thomas the brother who died as a baby and it was that horrible memory he was using against would explain her confusion/ disorientated look... saying that I don't think they have full mind control or ability to read every thought just the bad ones
Opening of episode 1 also had old scary ass grandma calling to Megan and claiming to be her gran and they are told to stay away from windows and nail them shut as they monsters have a way with manipulating / compelling people to let them in children being easier than adults to confuse
I just rewatched the seasons. Let me tell you, it was extremely hard to get through. It's great and mysterious the first go around even as you notice huge flaws in plot, writing, and acting. The second time was unbearable. Like absolutely unbearable. I don't think I want to invest the time into season 3. They've taken far too long to release season 3. Clearly they're winging it and didn't flesh out the universe or lore. I am not hopeful at all. Not worth subscribing to MGM+ for a show with a good premise but absolutely terrible execution. Every single character is infuriating.
