I just bought a Honda rebel 500 which is roughly a similar bike. I had a sportbike before and the whole point is... how many hours are you going to drive in a day? If you travel a lot a cruiser (maybe not a harley, they costs way too much, I agree on that) is going to be the thing that you're gonna praise after a 2 hours ride! Yeah, I have done 5 hours on my CBR but... I'm nearly 27, I'm getting old. You like fast? Sport bikes! You like nimble and twisties? You buy naked! You like offroad, you got multiple choices! You do a lot of mileage per day? You buy either a touring or a cruiser. Cruisers gives the same package of a touring bike but more compact. I have done some research and tries, I had that CBR for nearly 10 years by now. There is a bike for everything and for everyone. PS: yes, they kinda don't want to turn at speed, you need to get used to that, but for comfort it is a tradeoff I want to do. I have to drive 1 hour and 45 to get to work every day. Thank god I work only 4 days a week.
I think Yammie is disqualified or dead wrong to compare a Cruiser Fat Bob to other bikes like Tuano… he also has no clue about what he is reviewing… he only know the HP Is what drives the price … Tuano is good for all the good reason but it’s a different ride…just the blacked out treatment of Harleys metal parts will cost( what are the cost of aftermarket lever on any sport bike) …HP is not what you need if you want to cruise ( highways or local street )…you just cannot have a comfortable pillion in many of the sport bikes he is talking about .. so it cost a lot for a single person to travel… also those sport bikes does handle good with pillion ( you feel the rear end is top heavy)… so Harley serves a lot of other purpose … now he is comparing a liquid cooled engine with air cooled ( height of ignorance- how can a air cooled longer stroke - torque heavy engine act like a liquid cooled engine - short stroke engine)… Yammie is dead wrong here … Harley parts are top notch fit and finish ( it will cost )… also manufacturing is USA is not cheap for good( there are people employed)…. Metal not cheap… he is comparing apples to orange… he should have compared a fat bob with BMW r18( which he will have set BMW R18 is a winner - he runs this vlog on unnecessary bias toward Harley-Davidson and it’s offering)
@@cisa1622 Ahaha , it is funny. why are you so offended by his thoughts? Different people have different choices and neither me or Yammie are fans of old harleys, They lack the engineering finesse. Sure they are made of good quality but as an engineer myself there is no finesse in any of the old harleys, The new ones are pretty good , its just the old ones that aren't that good from a engineering stand point..
To be honest. As long as its got an engine and a wheel front and back you can still have fun. Had some great fun even on a Honda 50 ( did a 2500 mile road trip in the 70s ) If people are swapping bikes every few thousand miles , its seems to me its all about the bikes and nothing to do with the ride
I share the same sentiment. Price can dictate though. However, I had a Suzuki GSX-S 750 and I looked at reviews for the bike. The reviews didn’t really seem indicate that the bike was much good. HOWEVER, the bike was extremely fun to ride and cornered decently well. I would honestly have no problem having that bike for life. It’s funny how people find a reason to get another bike when their current bike is no problem (other than practicality).
I ride an old Honda ST1100. It's dorky and kind of slow. But, it keeps me on two wheels. And would be difficult to find anything to ride cheaper. I miss my Ducati until I realize how much easier the Honda is to maintain.
@@Soren_Kierkegaard yup thats original capacity The first model was called the C100 but it was still only 50ccs and push rod not OHC like the C50. I had both at various times. The Cub name was like the Miata name for the MX5 and a North American title not global.
First things first, I take Yammies opinions on Harley’s/cruisers in general with a grain of salt. He’s not a cruiser, he races, he doesn’t appreciate this style of bike because it’s not his style. He’ll grow up some day. As I get older, I don’t see the point of needing a bike that makes 150 hp at 15,000 rpm, that is completely useless on public roads… PS, I don’t/never have owned a Harley myself, but I do appreciate the simplicity of them. The reason people buy them is they are simple, less tech is what some people want. Solid hunk of steel rolling down the road, plus the fuel injected twins, especially modern Evo’s and M8’s, are extremely reliable long term. No valve adjustments will be needed, only fluid you need to change is the oil. Brakes, tires, belt/chain maintenance is basically it… is the Indian Chief a better option? I’d argue it is. But I still like these Harley’s for what they are, a simple, solid, made in the USA hunk of steel…
So, as a fat bob owner ( 2021, same red color as well) I can give some insight to the bike. It is most defiantly too expensive for what you get, but you honestly have to want that kind of bike for it to really work for you. The reason the bike wants to buck with you and stand back up is because it has a fat front tire. The aftermarket avaliability is really poor as well for customization. As far as comfort goes, it’s fantastic for
I agree 100%. I too fell in love with the 114 when I 1st sat on it at Vegas Harley, and I made it my mission to buy a Denim Black (2020). This is my first bike ever having ridden Quads & a KX80 back in the 80's and I love this bike.... I actually love the fact the I feel like I control the turns when the bike wants to come back up... but that's my take.
i ride a 1200xl and i love the whole feel. 14inch bar instead of the 883 style bars and it rides way better than the other bikes that i tried. it was a very proud moment for my first bike
I dont knowxwhy anybody would want a cruiser. Not dishing on Harley. But all cruisers. They were the thing back in the 40s and 50s. All other motorcycle styles will do what you want, only better. There is no advantage with cruisers. And I have tried and tried to like them, but I find them second rate to all other bikes out there. If motorcycles went to high school, all the other motorcycles would be calling cruisers dorks.
@@tomoth77 They're still a thing. I prefer bikes with a more standard riding position. The feet forward cruiser, and chiropractic assist race replica are not things I want to experience in an everyday ride. For specific circumstances sure... for a limited amount of time.
The problem is there are now multiple options within the MoCo for better equipped bikes for less. Their marketing strategy seems in chaos with all the new models being introduced with no real updates to the existing models besides the occasional paint job.
If you love how Harleys make power, you’ll love them. If you don’t, then they’re just overpriced meh. I’m a 4-cylinder kinda guy myself, but I do like the Ultra Classic for touring. The Fat Bob doesn’t really fit any role for me. It does look good, but not $20K good. I would like to second Yam’s idea of lining up a CVO with a Goldwing and comparing those. I already know Yam will prefer the Goldwing and Spite will *probably* prefer the CVO. Maybe they can make a touring adventure out of the comparison. Just my thoughts. In the end, cool bike, but poor value for money unless you’re already an HD guy.
Add Indian Challenger in there. Only an idiot would spend around $20,00 on a Softail. By the way I own a 2020 Softail Street Bob, So I resemble my own statement. I can give you a 1,000 reasons why, but reality 2 reasons, both stupid. It looks really cool and it is a Harley.
Before that they should test a Challenger. They both liked the Indian Scout and the Challenger is a better riding, better handling Roadglide with more power than the Scout or the RG special (114) and more power than the CVO 117
I went from a BMW S1000RR too a Fat Bob 114, then converted too a 131 Cu.In… love the heck out of it. No it doesn’t do triple digits or lean as good but it rides with an attitude and I love it.
I have ridden a lot of motorcycles. The Fat Bob is a really thrilling bike to ride. Hard to explain, maybe an example using cars would kinda explain it,,, I've driven the Tesla,it really pulls, some other sports cars, and good old Toyota, Honda's & Hyundai's but nothing, I say nothing compares to the feeling, sound and thrill of stepping on the pedal of an American muscle car like the Mustang, Hellcat etc. U have to experience it to know it. Once you've experienced it, there is no going back. Love the Fat Bob.
Exactly, Harleys and Indians are the American Muscle in the motorcycling world, they have the most powerful engines in the world in terms of torque and these engines can be tuned to produce really big horsepower numbers
I love Harleys, but they are nowhere close to muscle cars. American muscle cars for example the hellcat… it has a V8 motor. It has 700hp. A Honda has 4 or 6 cylinders. It’s the opposite in the motorcycle world. The Harley has way less power and torque as a ninja H2. I love Harleys, but they are the Civics of the motorcycle world.
@@adammfharris Obviously Harley is not going to compete with H2 or Turbo Busa but for stock comparision typical litre sports bike Honda CBR 1000rr is 113NM torque at very high revs 12,500rpm. Stock Fatbob 114 is 160NM torque at very low revs 3500 rpm. It's no civic. There is no comparision between the sound, thump, vibration and the muscle feel Harley makes. Definitely a Mustang.
The Fat Bob is not the flagship model. It’s like you guys are deliberately trying to avoid riding the “sportiest” Harley Softail and the best selling one, which is the Low Rider S. Not the Fat Bob. Harley shot that bike in the foot putting forward controls on it and ridiculous tractor tires. The front tire especially is contributing to that jerking back upright feeling your experiencing while cornering. That said, Yam’s just not ever gonna come to the dark side. Rightfully so, as he said, Harley’s are a love it or hate it motorcycle. Different strokes for different folks is exactly right.
you have to want a harley. i am retired and owned metric bikes my entire life. i just love my new heritage. going down the road you are planted and feel so good.
After my Harley MSF completion they had us choose a bike we liked best on the floor to take a picture with and prior to this I never cared for ANY Harley until I walked up to this thing. I almost dropped cash to get it right after the picture. Looks awesome in person, dazzle is the right word to use for this. Great review.
Best to just buy one from 90s or earlier. This is from a Harley lover who isn't a blind tribalist for Harley. Save 15,000+ and have something truly better than the litany of trash that is the past 20+yrs of horrendous decisions by Harley.
@@marky9223 I bought a 2020 ninja 400 at a Harley dealership, and they had a ceremony where I rang a bell, I too felt like I was being inducted into a cult. I go back and take my MSF there first of April, I wonder what other indoctrination or brain washing I’ll endure then?
I live in the CBD of Sydney Australia This was my first motorcycle and I disagree with almost every criticism except the price. It loves corners, is excellent around the city and handles like a sport bike on the twists even with a pillion passenger.
I took a "Big Robert" for a test drive and felt the same thing about the corners, but the torque was the best part. Price is still the real killer for me(but the value holds, they say). Nice raw review Yammie & Spite !
Yeah only thing for harley is they hold their value nicely. Even the sportsters, my buddy paid 8k for an 883 and they just offered him 10k for it to trade for a fat bob
I love watching the riding portion of your videos. As a long-time resident of the area, it is always fun for me to figure out where you are. Too many people have moved here unfortunately and traffic is horrible but there are some great places to ride. Ride safe.
I've owned 4 Harleys and I've loved every one. I've also owned 15 non Harleys, everything from Hodakas to Goldwings. Some people get too hung up on Harley owners riding only Harleys. Ride whatever you like and don't judge people by what they're riding.
I rode one of these off the demo truck. I absolutely loved it. Currently own a Vulcan 650 and I've tried a couple of sportsters. Really a cool unique experience.
I love the Fat Bob but that is because I am a cruiser fan. I enjoyed riding the naked bikes but I found the Fat Bob had a decent balance between the cruiser bike comfort with some performance. Glad to see Yammie finally getting on the bike and I appreciate his views!
People choose Harley because it’s the culture and what Harley stands for. When you see to Harley riders pass each other they are happy to greet each other. But when a Harley rider pass another rider they either don’t wave or wave in a way they hope that no one catches them. When I ride with my club you may see a node, but no wave. And 99 percent of the time they don’t wave back. You either get it or don’t get. So be it. But you should never judge something you don’t understand.
I went with an 06 kawasaki mean streak 1600 for just about 4500$. Fit and finish is nice, seat is lovely, usd-forks, progressive dampers in the rear, and that big ol' v-twin making a shitload of torque with some vance & hines longshots for my neighbours listening pleasure. For a big bike it's really fun and agile in the twisties. Also it's smoked most harleys I've played with on the roads. So I can have 3 more of my bike instead of 1 fatbob. Choice is pretty obvious to me.
5’8” with 30” inseam here. I’ve owned my 114 OBEAST for over a year now. It’s the 2023 with ABS and cruise control. I slapped on some mini floorboards, Mustang solo seat, windshield, and Thrashin supply escape bags for long trips. It’s a pretty comfortable bike once you add your own rider specific mods. My favorite part though is stripping it all down to its muscle cruiser bones after the long trips and just ripping on the weekends or even a few days a week on my commute.
First, I'm finding more and more how glad I went with Honda over Harley for a cruiser. The unjustified price point hurts my soul. Second, I like the new vloging style. The pre-setup cameras to see how the bike leans are great. Adding that excellent production value. Also like the mix between the first ride and the conversation review. Its a nice TIGHT package. It cuts down my Yam intake to one video, but the presentation is nice and is not something you see a lot of and thats a good thing. Keep up the fine work.
As a fat bob owner, can confirm, it is a nice bike. It’s comfy, punchy at the low end, sounds gorgeous and rides buttery-smooth. If you like the Indian Chief, you’ll appreciate the Fat Bob. If you like the R6, it feels like the high-end of the rpm range but at the low end with the nice potato noise. The UK spec has ~120hp and ~150N/m of torque, so it pulls /hard/. An onomatopoeia version of a pull: potatopotatopotatopotato *bwaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH* (popburpgurgle) *bwaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH* It’s a nice noise
I can ride a HD Ultra 700 miles a day across the country in most weather conditions with temps from 35 degrees to 100 degrees and feel just fine. 15 mins on a sport bike and my back is killing me, my knees screaming in agony and my forearms on fire. Don't need to go 150mph. Different bikes for different riding. To each their own. If you are on two wheels (no matter what brand), you are a member of an exclusive club. Ride Safe, Ride Often & Enjoy the Ride
Yeah. I got bit by the sport bike bug also. Not one of the best decisions I made when you consider they're uncomfortable as hell over the long run, and you can only go between 70 to 75 miles per hour in most places anyway. All those ponies and no room to gallop.
@@MrRedFox13Photography it's not that much to be honest I was trying to make a joke about the Fatbobs pricing lol. You could literally buy multiple bikes for the price of one Fatbob.
Turbobusa 600hp. Super duke 180hp. Turbobusa infinite ftlbs. Super duke 105ftlbs. Turbobusa 209lbs. Super duke 443lbs. I got to go with the Turbobusa or her sister Turbo-B-King over Super duke :-)
I love your channel and im also a Harley guy.. Just wanted to say you should avoid Harley test ride videos.. just about all the things you dont like about Harley is what most Harley riders like about them. Harley riders are not speed demons, they like kicking back in the HWY pegs, they love the loud rumble of the V twin. Harley is not as nimble and light as most of the types of bikes you like.. In short, (Cpt Obvious here) Harleys are just not your bag and your entire demo just feels like shitting on it.. I know that was not your intent but the fact that you are not a HD guy really shows lol. Leave the HD test drives to those who appreciate Harley style.. No hard feelings, love your channel...
Damn straight. I own a 2019 lowrider. Kicking back on the highway in Australia on a Harley is the best feeling in the world. Love the American heritage of the Harley's. Makes me feel closer to my American friends.❤
The FatBob 114 was going to be my next bike after 10 years of not riding, until I saw what you get for your money. I can't "starfish" due to past hernia surgery's so I was looking for mid controlled bikes and came across the MT09SP. $13,000 dollars later and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm not a speed freak but the power and torque on this bike will get into and out of trouble, quick. Hard to beat 127HP, 97 Ft./lbs. torque, and 417 lbs. wet.
I've had my Sportster since 08, and never really thought of the turn signal switch layout as being odd. First and only bike, so I'm too used to it. It just made sense to me.
I rode a sport bike first and now I have an XR1200, but I really dislike the turn signal setup. It's not so bad for a turn but changing lanes in traffic is dangerous. Switching to the right hand hand between cars without doing a wheely can be tricky.
Love the intros Yamm. Ive driven Harleys for awhile. I was in the wide glide and street glide genres. Ive been disappointed with some of the horse power with Harleys. Granted its a cruiser and the goal isnt pure speed and performance. Gettin my R6 this past yr has really driven me back to sport bikes. In particular i just showed the wife your vlog on the RS660. I REALLY like the 765 but insurance is ridic. The forward controls i appreciate after a knee replacement.
When purchasing my next bike it was a toss up between a HD Fat Bob and Ducati xDiavel. The comment of "it feels like its about to turn off" at idle, the underwhelming power and torque are spot on. I was 'happy to buy one' after my test ride....until I sat on the xD. It literally left the HD in its dust. Great review.
I don't get why you'd pin an xDiavel with a fatbob. It's not even in the same league. xDiavel is far superior in power, it compares closer to a rocket3R. Fatbob is a typical harley dressed in a badass "sports" theme. It's as sporty as a harley can get, but nowhere close to an actual sports bike. I love my fatbob just because of the raw torque it gives at a low range rpm. But i am not gonna sit around and claim it's fast or actually "sporty"
@@rohannk224 It was just the two bikes I was looking at buying in the same price range at the time. (2018)...and they had both available to test ride at the same dealership
I honestly think Yammie doesn't understand how to ride a Cruiser, which is fine. There's never been any "flicking" into corners.. it isn't a thing. You lean and look into corner, keep your speed and enjoy the ride.
Two words, resale value...look we all get it. There are more powerful, nimble bikes. But you keep comparing apples to oranges. I like all bikes but let's be honest a 18k yamaha will be about worthless in 10 years
I'm not saying it is. But hear me out. If you're to compair 2 comparable bike. Let's say the mt109r boss. The Suzuki is arguably a better bike. But try and trade or sell that Suzuki in in a few years. You've lost probably about 5k more then if you bout the HD. So is the Suzuki 5k better. Maybe. But thats a choice you have to consider, yammies video kept harping on the proce of the fat Bob. I'm just pointing out there is a major flaw in his thought process. That's how some people can afford to buy new harleys every couple years. Because they're not really losing that much on them. I'm gonna go ride my monkey. Ttfn
+1 for a Boulevard review. Got one and love mine. Don't think that yummie would like it though with its big fat back tire, it titanic weight, and it's lack of technology. I still wouldn't trade mine for an HD.
I notice how Yammie kept talking about what the bike felt like to ride, and Spite kept talking about what the bike looked like. It makes me wonder. Is riding a bike about how you perceive yourself, or is it about how other people perceive you?
Yeah I think a big part of why people like harleys is the aesthetic.. wich is funny for a bike without fairing but I get it.. I think its explained by a difference in perspective about riding like you said, it might explain why cruiser riders have a very distinc style, not very fonctional as opposed to say supersports riders where the whole outfit has purposes like aerodynamics and protection.. very different than leather flaps and a bowl helmet. That laid back look is kinda like a visual expression of freedom, i think that aesthetic still capitalises on its history and thats why it seems to attract a certain type of person. Dont get me wrong though, feeling like you project the right image of yourself can be priceless and if harleys can help you with that, more power to you!
Or maybe both. Whatever floats yer boat. When I rode BMW, I was called yuppie, etc ( I'm a welder), when I rode Honda I was nerd, etc. Now on HD and accused of wanting to "play dress up". Ride yer own bike for your own reasons.
@@gregorsamsa1364 Do you think so. I generally perceive myself as a good looking man of superior intelligence. I found out long ago that other people don't see me that way at all. I don't put much effort, I have to admit into impressing other people. It leads to an interesting question though. Do people buy Harleys primarily to impress other people? That's the question I was alluding to in my original comment.
There is one item not talked about too much and that is the safety element of the fat bob. I feel safer on the fat bob because the fatter tires and the the heavier weight makes the ride stick to the pavement better. It’s seems like the more agile lighter bikes are prone to slipping on bad areas of the road causing some accidents.
Look who likes it. Tall average american looking guy who looks like he might enjoy riding a bike. Look who doesn't like it. Short skinny guy who looks like he should be road racing.
I’d like to hear Yammie’s thoughts on the Sportster S. I know Spite rode it, but he doesn’t count, he likes Harleys. Most Harley riders dislike it because it isn’t a “real” Harley.
But for 20k if you like and want this bike….then why name all the other bikes you can get. “Don’t try to make your bike the way you want it”. What are you talking about. ?? If your SO concerned about money why get a bike at all you quite literally don’t need one at all whatsoever. Stop telling people what is and is not worth. If you buy it, it’s worth it to you.
Good video!! And trust me I agree with their pricing issues but they hold their value so it offset their high price ! I'm on a 2017 Kawasaki voyager 1700 and I love the bike but I'm going in to trade it for a 2019 fat bob . It's perfect for what I need it for (club life) but appreciate your personal option!
I found a 20yo Dyna for $5k. Old geezer (80yo) I got it from was aging out. I've found excellent dealer and aftermarket support, plus there are at least half a dozen independent shops within 30mi that will do any and all maintenance, mods, upgrades. When I owned a 20yo Yamaha the dealer wouldn't touch it beyond tire service and some of their techs were still crapping in their diapers when it was new. It's a comfortable machine for riding all day. I've owned BMW and Goldwings, among others, and this works for me.
I love the looks on some of these bikes, especially the bobs, but I've been riding sport bikes for too long to appreciate the massive weight (and cost!) that comes with more traditional street bikes. Maybe someday when I'm older I'll find one that fits me.
Not everyone needs to like or appreciate harley. Not everyone needs to love or appreciate Euro or Japanese bikes. Thank God the market has choice. We are all different and we want different things.
I got the Indian Chief and they had the fat bob there and I hated the weight and feel just sitting on it. Im happy with my purchase and the scout is hella fun quicker and way lighter.
@@monkmoto1887 I have both the scout and a 111 Chief bobber. Not hating on HD in comparison with side by side the Chief felt more nimble and the fat bob was cumbersome and rub up against your ankles and caff. @@ianwarren You are missing the point, I was not talking about value but is it a good bike from the POV of a sports bike dude? That said, no other disagreements from me. I am a Cruiser boy so by proxy I also do have a deep appreciation for the Harley style. Some are willing to pay a lot to get a "real deal". I am not personally, but others are free to do so and more power to them. 👍

I think Spike and Yammie should do a long road trip series of videos. Spike can get his Harley and Yammie can get a sport touring since he loves them so dearly.
First one in my family to go the non Harley route, but I still appreciate them. As stated several times, just not worth the price anymore and so many other brands are doing it better at offering different prices for different levels.
we need to get yam on a vintage bike some old clunker from the 70s and see how he feels about that cuz I'm not sure if he's ever done an actually retro bike I think it's mostly just neo retro rides that are brand new but just look old
Bought a 2019 Fat Bob 2 days ago. I paid 15k cash, it has 6k miles and came with SUPER LOUD Vance and Hines Comp Only pipes. It's my first motorcycle so I have nothing to compare it to besides all the dirt bikes I've owned over the last 20 years. That being said, words can't describe how much I love it. Riding it gives me a feeling that I haven't felt in a very long time, it's like pure joy mixed with the warm fuzzies but 10x better than that. About the price thing, I do agree that it's overpriced but if 15k-20k is chump change to you than it's perfect.
I've had Japanese & Italian bikes, I'm far from a HD simp- I just like bikes. That being said, nothing holds its value like a HD. In fact, I just traded in my Bob for more than I paid for it. The handling is due to the tires, HD uses flat profile rubbers that're great for straight line stability. Once switched out the Bob feels like a new bike. New Metzelers on my Bob fixed it.
For me the Fat Bob is a great do-it-all bike. It looks and sounds great, handles well for something that you’re not racing around a track, and very low maintenance. It’s great for short romps around town, the low end torque gives a fun sensation, as Spite says when using the throttle as an on/off switch, and is good enough at touring. All day rides on mine have been pretty routine including a 3-day thousand mile ride from North Alabama to the top of Mt. Mitchell and back before Fall that included my gf on the back and all of our luggage. We hit the Little River Canyon, the Ocoee River HWY, Cherohala Skyway, Nantahala Gorge, Blue Ridge Parkway, the highway through Smoky Mountain National Park/ Gatlinburg, The Tail of the Dragon, and the Tennessee Foothills Parkway including the Missing Link. There aren’t many bikes that can do so many different things as well as the Fat Bob. I was originally shopping the Ducati Monster and BMW RnineT before test riding the Fat Bob, but I’m glad I went with the Harley because the other two are much more limited in what they can do. I swapped the stock tires out for Avon Cobra Chromes at 10k miles which handle much better in my opinion. Going along with what you were saying about the bike wanting to stand up in turns, that has a lot to do with the wide tires, but I distinctly remember the bike almost feeling like it wanted to fall over in turns when I first swapped the tires. It was a quick adjustment, but the stock scrambler style tires may have something to do with that. The only real complaint in the video seems to be the cost. While cost is a valid concern, I can sell mine now for $2k more than I paid for it in 2019.
@@StrengthLabAZ they seem to ride smoother and the bike is more eager to lean into corners rather than stand back up. That could be due to the stock tires being worn out and the tread flat across the middle, however the rubber feels like it has more grip and inspires more confidence in the turns.
Crazy to me how this could be considered a good do-it-all bike under any circumstances. It looks and sounds nice and that’s about where anything it does well ends.
@@waffleandchicken it’s good for riding around town and day trips as is. Just add some bags and a back rest and you’re good to go for a thousand mile trip.
This bike was built for everyone's dentist uncle that lives in Jacksonville. He's a big college football fan, likes miller lite, really into his traeger/green egg.
I'd give one a ride that has been opened up. Better tires, stage 2 and exhaust, different bars to get back a little. That large tire up front takes some getting used to. Throttle boss, and never buy a new harley, spend 5k on a well maintained older fuel injected bike. At the end, great review, Harleys are an acquired taste
I feel that Yam really tried to be neutral on this, and it is a good looking bike. But the bike is just not for him. The entire Harley thing is not for him. And that's okay, the more diversity in bikes the better it is for all of us. With that being said, they aren't my thing either. So I could be biased and other could say he made up his mind before riding it. I've tried it, I just don't care for it.
I feel the exact same way as Yammie about these. Fine for people who like them, but just not for me.

Had some great fun even on a Honda 50 ( did a 2500 mile road trip in the 70s )
If people are swapping bikes every few thousand miles , its seems to me its all about the bikes and nothing to do with the ride
It was 50cc?
Honda super cub, they're still selling them. There's an episode on ctxp i think
In China, fat Bob sold for nearly $50000
150 miles? those are pedal bike numbers....
i ride a 1200xl and i love the whole feel. 14inch bar instead of the 883 style bars and it rides way better than the other bikes that i tried. it was a very proud moment for my first bike

Ever since that ZH2 and Fireblade comparison the Yammie Noob intro's have been on a different level
Amen to that
I dont knowxwhy anybody would want a cruiser.
The problem with a bike like this is that there's excellent options for motorcycles at the $20k level. that’s a serious problem for Harley right now.
Yeah doesn’t the Honda rebel 1100 make similar power for like 15k?
Edit: makes the same horsepower but 30+ less torque. but at an msrp of 10k not 15.
No,Thats not a problem
The problem is there are now multiple options within the MoCo for better equipped bikes for less. Their marketing strategy seems in chaos with all the new models being introduced with no real updates to the existing models besides the occasional paint job.
Then buy those?
And if you do not take residual value into account you are missing the true cost of your bike.
Same thinking here... Maybe a king trip and they switch at the end to go back and finish the comparison
What's a "CVO"?
The CVO is fifty grand, isn't it? That's all I need to hear. Goldwing wins all day.
I went from a BMW S1000RR too a Fat Bob 114, then converted too a 131 Cu.In… love the heck out of it. No it doesn’t do triple digits or lean as good but it rides with an attitude and I love it.
It won't do 100?
@@DeCavalcante It does triple digits of course, what I mean is that it doesn’t handle it as well as a sportsbike

It’s called having an opinion.. 😂
Totally agree, it's the muscle car of motorcycles, the Holden Monaro of Harley Davidsons

I like the look of the fat Bob, but if I had to throw away an embarrassing amount of money on a Harley... It would be a Lowrider S.
I have a 2021 :)
Low Rider S LOVES to corner with the narrow front tire.
I have a 2021 Sport Glide, and I absolutely love that ride!!! It corners extremely well, and has plenty of power.
100% agree
At 6 feet 2 inches tall and the apparent want of being folded like a table, I still absolutely want to try out the Night Rod special.
The Low Rider S is not as good now that it’s a Softail and not a Dyna. It’s sad that they killed the Dyna series.
@@zyonsdream I’ve ridden both and the M8 Softail version of the LRS is the better bike without question.
It def needs mid-controls and 17 wheels front and rear, lol.
Hey, this bike has the same rev-range as my 2012 diesel Honda Civic. Neat.

I almost dropped cash to get it right after the picture. Looks awesome in person, dazzle is the right word to use for this. Great review.
This was not coincidence. :D
I did my MSF course at the Harley dealership too. The whole time it felt like I was being inducted into a cult.

Best to just buy one from 90s or earlier.

Can't agree more with this, production value is always going up with this channel but this a landmark in their vlog set up. Really love it
Since when is motorcycle riding been about sensibility?
The difference between “look at that motorcycle” and “look at that Harley”. It cost a few bucks.

@@exzackt EXACTLY, that is why I bought a new Harley, it is void of any sensibility. Makes perfect sense, but not sensible.
An onomatopoeia version of a pull:

HARLEYS NEED THAT TRACTOR TORQUE to get that .700 pound bike to start moving. Lighter bikes need less torque.
Yeah its the one thing Harley did right and something id love to see on other brands of motorcycles.
YES!! 2160p VIDEO QUALITY!! THIS IS WHAT YAMMIE NOOB VIDEOS ARE ABOUT...QUALITY! (in large quantities too 😏)
Love the intros Yamm.

I like all bikes but let's be honest a 18k yamaha will be about worthless in 10 years
I don't think buying a bike because it retains value is the most logical choice for our hobby lol. It's a good point but who cares man ride!
Ttfn

I notice how Yammie kept talking about what the bike felt like to ride, and Spite kept talking about what the bike looked like. It makes me wonder. Is riding a bike about how you perceive yourself, or is it about how other people perceive you?
A little bit of both maybe 🤔
People's perceptions of themselves are largely their perceptions of how others perceive them
@@gregorsamsa1364 Do you think so.
Lol intro is good. I cruise a vtx 1800 only cost 3,500 with 5k miles. It's a tractor. Could have bought a hand full of bikes at that harley price.
I've waited so long for yammie to review this
that's basically a diesel truck on two wheels
Obese Robert lmfao almost killed me with that joke.
If I were ever to get a Harley, I would want it to be this one
Not everyone needs to like or appreciate harley. Not everyone needs to love or appreciate Euro or Japanese bikes. Thank God the market has choice. We are all different and we want different things.
I think the fatbob is the most attractive HD. That headlight and the handlebars are my style. Hope it handles well.
Considering it weighs 675 pounds I doubt it
It does I went from a ninja 650 to a fat Bob and I kinda love all bikes tbh but this fat bob is so fun
The "Obese Robert" got me hard 😂👌🏽
I got the Indian Chief and they had the fat bob there and I hated the weight and feel just sitting on it. Im happy with my purchase and the scout is hella fun quicker and way lighter.
Do you have the chef or the scout
@@monkmoto1887 I have both the scout and a 111 Chief bobber. Not hating on HD in comparison with side by side the Chief felt more nimble and the fat bob was cumbersome and rub up against your ankles and caff. Plus it felt heavier than the Chief which was weird for since they both have the same weight
One day, Yammie will be hi his 40's and 50's and won't feel much like riding a sport bike anymore.
I am dying to know what Yammie thinks of the new Sportster, considering how different it is.
It’s a Harley, it will be just like all of them, stupidly expensive and gives poor value for money!
Don’t understand why anyone would have one!
@@ianwarren Its actually cheaper, has everything Yammie said was missing on this bike. Different engine rider aids, better horsepower and torque. Calm your tits.
@@That90sKid yeah I think the only thing he would criticize on the S, is where the pegs sit.
Hey Yammie i ride a stage 1 with a fp3 tunner 2014 fatbob 103 . i ride hard and fast 132 mph so far it handles better than should love my fatbob not for everyone but for me its a yes. love the show.
I honestly would have to choose the lowrider s, if I was going to get a Harley.
King of the softails imo, such a better performance bike I would think for Yam I'd love to hear their opinion on it.
“Obese Robert” 😆
dont think it would make any difference to Yam, but i'd think the 114 street bob would be the better option. same engine, bit less weight.
“WELP, No” 🤣🤣
I love my fat bob, moved over from a mv 800rr dragster. Thought it’d feel lethargic, it’s just geared so aggressively it’s still super fun
Yammie is an absolute delight
If it was closer to $15k out the door, I think I'd be sold. For that price, I'm going to Ducati though. I agree with Spites take 100% though.
Almost at a million Yam. can't wait for the turbo Busa!
Flagship Harley Softail is the Low Rider S
That’s what I’m saying. You can tell they aren’t Harley guys. They picked one of the worst handling Harley’s to review. Fat Bobs DO NOT sell. They picked a sport glide and a fat Bob.
I have a 98 heritage softail.. a few years ago a bought a 2015 aprilia tuono. That tuono was a blast to ride. Soooo fast. I ended up selling the tuono because I found myself always riding the heritage
I think Spike and Yammie should do a long road trip series of videos. Spike can get his Harley and Yammie can get a sport touring since he loves them so dearly.
Haven’t watched long enough yet to know if you liked it, but can say I’m happy to see you try it.
Can we also see yammie ride a old shovel head😂
First one in my family to go the non Harley route, but I still appreciate them. As stated several times, just not worth the price anymore and so many other brands are doing it better at offering different prices for different levels.
we need to get yam on a vintage bike some old clunker from the 70s and see how he feels about that cuz I'm not sure if he's ever done an actually retro bike I think it's mostly just neo retro rides that are brand new but just look old
I have been waiting a long time for them to review this bike
The best harley after the v-rod no cap
Has he ever tried a V-Rod?
@@kell7195 I don't think so
Bought a 2019 Fat Bob 2 days ago.
"Obese Robert" LOL
I find the stock tires don't like freeway speeds as well as I'd like. Why Avon cobras?
Personally attacked...
Harley Davidson Obese Robert!😂😂😂
I feel that Yam really tried to be neutral on this, and it is a good looking bike. But the bike is just not for him. The entire Harley thing is not for him. And that's okay, the more diversity in bikes the better it is for all of us. With that being said, they aren't my thing either. So I could be biased and other could say he made up his mind before riding it. I've tried it, I just don't care for it.
