oh my goodness...what happened to all these angels that made us all dream of a better tomorrow...what happened to music, what happened to the world... God bless you Judy, Joni, Joan..... For ever and ever in my heart!...
Judy Collins is still performing - just got back from her live concert in Olympia, WA - at 85!!! She actually sounds great and mixes in lots of cool stories about her experiences and name drops a lot of 60's icons. What Happened to all these angels you ask? Maybe they're still with us! (And yes, we also have great singers today, just look around).
Judy Collins was born in Seattle, Washington on May 1st, 1939. She is a Grammy Award-winning American singer and songwriter with a career spanning over 60 years. My God! I'm 50 years old, and I've heard this song my whole life. It's always been just a pleasant little tune to me. Today I'm really contemplating the lyrics for the first time, and I can't keep it together. Joni Mitchell is a poetic genius!
I’m 54 and never ever ever knew these lyrics. Yes I knew the song but never listened nor understood the lyrics until I saw it sung and signed in the movie CODA. I am mesmerized by the talent of JM , the rendition here of JC and the exquisite moving voice of Emilia Jones. In coda
Just recently had the great privilege of standing at the front and watching this beautiful lady perform at the Cambridge folk festival in England , she told stories of her friendships with Leonard Cohn and Joni Mitchell and sang a wonderful set of songs ❤😊
First time I heard this song I was in high school cafeteria and was on radio on speakers. Now in my sities and so sweet to hear it. This song never gets old. Judy Collins has a beautiful voice.
I have been listening to this song since I was a kid and it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!! What a beautiful song that Judy Collins sings that was written by Joni Mitchell!!!!
Judy Is always one of my favourite artists of all times, I like her vision of this song as much as Joni Mitchell’s original, love you very much and blessed to be one of your fans
Judy Collins is one of my favourite artists of all times,I listen to her songs everyday, blessed to be one of her passionate fans, love you very much,Judy
So moved by my emotions, I couldn't type that which I stated moments earlier. Lemme try again. Both Sides Now is belongs to you, Judy, & every altering you do to it, is beautiful, as are you!
Just a lovely, lovely song. This is one of those songs that will live on for hundreds of years. People will be listening to this the way we listen to Mozart or Chopin.
It'd be cool to see a star fleet Jr officer/ crewman play this song on one of the current shows just to assure us that good music still exists in the far fu t ure.
Sweet Judy blue eyes. wow just wow. I liked this song when it came out, I was about 10. I listen to it now as a fifty six year old man and it makes me wanna cry. One grows to appreciate the truly beautiful as life goes by. Just love it.
I first saw and heard Judy around 1963 when I was 14 years-old. She and Tom Paxton I think it was, were making their rounds on Cape Cod, (and Massachusetts) at that time. They put on a nice little show at the old National Guard Armory, (which is now a court house) on Jones Road in Falmouth, Ma. Judy was absolutely fabulous that night! I can still see her on that little stage wearing a white dress and high heels. She had the most beautiful, big blue eyes I have ever witnessed. I've been a huge fan of hers all these years and my favorite song sung by her is, "Both Sides Now".
Suite Judy Blue Eyes. Yo have always been a favorite since my parents bought me a 45 of Chelsea Morning and Amazin Grace. I loved it when you sang Amazing Grace for the late Gloria Vanderbilt. I had a wonderful cleansing cry. God Bless you. I also have read a few of your books. You are an awesome lady with a God given talent. From a proud Canadian. 🙏🇨🇦🌈🦋🌹
me too. So sad. I have loved her music and voice since I first heard her sing when I was around 14. Where did I hear her? At my Grandparents house! Someone gave them a record of hers! Here I am 65 and still love her. Every now and then I think "I haven't heard Judy sing in awhile." At one time, I had every one of her albums. She was a truly is amazing. Sons of is one of the better songs. Touches my heart every time.
It was a special time, for some of us the time of our youth, hopes, and dreams. Now we are ever so slowly growing old. I truly miss them days, I'm glad I grew up then. When I hear music like this from back then, it makes me think of friends and family who are no longer with us, but was here back then.😔
Has there ever been a more beautiful voice, I don't think so ! A voice of an angel for sure. What wonderful times those were back in the 60's, my heart breaks knowing they are gone.
Her enchanting voice, speaking and singing, is almost indescribably beautiful, haunting and unforgettable. The amazing sound and motion picture camera is surely our most profound invention, a time machine portal upon lost worlds. Thanx to the extremely few intrepid geniuses who invented it around one hundred thirty years ago, truly amazing.
She sings so much like Joan Baez. I am 84yrs & have never heard of her before now. Maybe not known very well in Qld Australia. Would love to see & hear her.

or maybe it's because of the famous Crosby, Stills and Nash song "Suite to Judy Blue Eyes" written by her (then) boyfriend Stephen Stills
Yes
George Burge Pretty much the same here. Lovely woman, lovely song.

Her voice is so incredible that sometimes I feel like I'm going into a trance.
The song grows old with age, but it still makes memories refresh every times I listen to this song.
Judy, you are still so beautiful when you sing this! I love your voice.
I was 18 and in Boston, not far away from here. Just two years into my career as an alcoholic. I don't drink no more. Jesus took it away.
I want to see her sing in person. She’s always pulled my emotional strings. I got a glimpse thru my sister tonight. She’s perfect(my sister too)
Judy, this song is ll YOU and all your in my opinion. Every time you sing it or alter it, it's beautiful, as you are!

Unfortunately every time she sang this live, she changed the melody of the line ,"at all" ,which is the best part of the song.
It's 2020...If we would look at both sides now.....There Would Be Peace...Thanks Judy....Peace Out.
Magnificent! What a voice and personality. I like Joni's version more but that does not change that this is just excellent.
