Using the button reassignment facility in the Logitech mouse app, I mapped the wheel click button to the DPI change button, and the primary Click to the wheel mouse click. It is a semi-elegant fix for the problems of the G102.

Great workaround! I changed the number of lines being scrolled in windows to 1 and the side buttons work perfectly. I am no longer using scroll wheel other than for doing MMB click. Pinning your comment for reach.
I don't recommend Logitech G102 Lightsync. Even though it feels very solid and works great initially, it breaks just after a few months of usage. I bought a Logitech G102 Lightsync and had to RMA it 2 times in 1 year due to the scroll wheel registering incorrect direction after just a few months of usage. All 3 mice had this same issue pop up after ~4 months. The shop eventually returned my money since I guess they realized there is no point in continuing replacing what is essentially a factory defective mouse. Such a shame since it feels very sturdy and was pleasant to use. However, due to these issues, I can no longer recommend it.
i have g402, originally g302, but after rma twice, the shop offered me to upgrade free to g402. it failed in 2.5 years (which is most longest than other logitech mouses out there). I opened it up , yeet the original switches, put Huano Blue white dot switches. kaboom. Until this day, i repaired 3 mouse (g402, M171, G102) and none of them failed until now. M171 been abused by my sister playing genshin impact, and still holds up till now. Moral of story : dont ditch your logitech, just remove (yeet) the original switches, and put huano/any good brand switches and your logitech is durable like a tank.
I RMA my G102 Lightsync 3 times during warranty....2 times for double click and one time for scroll jumping issue....and after warranty over my 4th replacement having double click issue and strange thing is that the 2nd side button (back button) with Kalih switch also having double click issue as I use it same as the left click.....but now I cleaned both of them thanks to your video..... I just want to say from my experience, you have to be very gentle and extra careful during the opening and cleaning 😊

I've heard that Razer is making some decent mice these days. You can give them a try. To this day, I still have to open this (Logitech G102) mouse every 6 months or so to fix the double click issue.
which mouse will u suggest for gaming under 2k. I purchased g102 lyghtsync for rs. 1295 on sale and lefte switch double clicking after 1.5 yrs of gaming( valorant avg. 4-6 hrs per day). everything else is perfect in this like its shape since my hands and fingers are large.
Most likely cable is damaged somewhere... You will have to do some DIY work to replace/repair it. But first, use a multi meter to check connection between USB plug side and wire soldered on Mouse's main board, this will confirm if cable is damaged or not.
I am using AmazonBasics 51-Piece Screwdriver Set. It is good enough for such work. Just remember it is for phone repair type of work and can't handle too much torque. Same for the plastics leverages.
Use a thin flat head screwdriver. You can also use safety-pins. Pry open the latches on either side of the button. Don't flex the latches too much or you will break them.
As far as I know, I do not think it is possible... Maybe you can find the Kailh Scroll somewhere online and then replace with some soldering work. I know it's sad, G102 is an overrated mouse.

I totally agree with you. Even their cheaper models like M100 has optical encoder scroll wheel and lasts longer. G102 is overrated.

Yes the Logitech sensor is good no doubt.

Cleaning it actually worked, don't know for how long but after testing with over 100 clicks there were no more doubles, thanks for the infomation.
I have to do it almost every 6 months or so. Same goes for the scroll wheel, I have to open it up and clean once a year.

The Sensors is different than G102 Prodigy which is using Mercury..
They downgrade the sensor in this Lightsync version.

replace the switches. Huano Blue white dot i recommend. Repaired my g402, m171, g102, and till now none of them failed.

my logitech g102 only has 1 screw on the button is it a different version? not sure how to open it up.
Try putting some pressure over the feets, they will depress a bit somewhere if there are any screws hidden behind.

Phillips head... But exact spec I do not know. You can just tape it from the sides and call it a day 😊
The real fix for this mouse is to open it up and cut the 3 stupid LEDs out that make it glow.
