Surly the Irish could have some money from their Lottery to modernise these decaying old properties and sell them off to fabulously wealthy Irish/Americans who are seeking a second home ? …….there is so much potential !
That house is obviously beyond repair the only thing to do with this ruined building is for Irish government to rip up any heritage orders when it comes to this abandoned ruin and bring in a team with a wrecking ball thereby demolishing what is left standing as for the accidental fire that happened over a hundred years ago in relation to this building it very much sounds like it could have been a insurance job after all the owners were broke at the time.When it comes to the other neo classical mansions across Ireland the only ones that are probably worth preserving are those still in one piece and close to major cities where they could be put to use maybe as hotels I doubt the wealthy would want live in such huge houses these days these buildings were designed in the days of cheap labour and when most people including the wealthy had large families things have changed a lot in the last hundred years as for those burnt out as said earlier in this comment they can't be repaired so bring in the demolition team and get rid of them the other thing the Irish government maybe needs to do is reign in its heritage organisations they probably want to put a heritage order on just about anything we have the same problem here in Australia with heritage organisations they need to be reigned in and cut back.

No, it would be much better to send them home to build up their own countries. The economic freeloaders vastly outnumbered the genuine refugees.
