I respect your skills. i also like how you keep a safe distance to other cars. The glorious RX-8 is easy to drive fast, it just goes where you want it to go, but your skills are epic, you ignore the beep because you know that you can stay in third gear until the next corner.
You should have shifted anyway, not because it would have been a waste of time but because it was frustrating to listen to the high revving engine for longer than it was necessary at the time. I saw you did it once and had to immediately shift down which indicated that it was not your first time on this track. love :)
@@ve2430It's not revs that kills em, it's heat. Revs actually make the apex seals seal better at that specific moment because centripetal force adds to the spring's force
Pisses me off when i expect a good pov video with fast proper driving but they always drive without pushing the car like how it should be, but this is how it should be done!!

A perfect pairing of fast car and fast driver. Rx-8s won't beat anything with real power down a strip, but there's not a muscle car on the planet that could run down that road that fast. That's what I love about mine. Anyone can do impressive things in something with 500 horsepower, but making a car with such handling do such amazing things is a true art form that few can master. Awesome video man!

I'm in the middle of k24 swapping one. People k24 swap everything, lotus, mini Cooper, civic, it's a reliable swap and will always be supported. I hate to say ditch the rotary but if you love the chassis as much as I do you won't let such a great vehicle be lost ...also look into ev swapping and keeping the trans and everything they have those now too ..ev west
Rx8's are really cool and nice cars, but they don't compare to Rx7's that much. I'm not saying they're terrible because I myself have one right now, but Rx7's can so much more power and they weight less too. But it's not like you cant make an Rx8 go faster, because with a 13b engine swap and some pretty nice turbos it will make such a good car👌
I used to have the 192 RX8 in red, i was 21 when i bought it and i loved that crazy little sports car, also that rotary engine is amazing for its size! I used to make it beeeeep all the time but i was told it was good for the engine after warming it up in low revs first, i owned it for 5 years and didn't have any engine problems. The RX8 made me love Mazda's so i got the 2010 Mazda 6 2.2 Sport next as i needed to cover more miles for work and ill probably get another Mazda for my next car :)

I actually really bought an RX-8 because of this video, it's a complete rustbucket but this engine sound .. in person it sounds even better. I know it's an old video but great going.
Jack-Spicer thanks for the advice. but i don't have the guts to learn or try out these advance techniques on an open road. after i learned it on a track i could do it. :D
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think trail braking reduces oversteer as it shifts the weight of the car to the front wheels resulting in less understeer. Unless you meant understeering because I didn't see much oversteer in the video.
Why do people hate on the RX-8. Sure it's not as appealing as the RX-7 FD but it still handles well and has a rotary engine. What more could you ask for?

So, RUclips recommends this. Obviously I watch it and damn, your run looks easy as, theres barely any corners. When we hit the touge elevation changes constantly and for every long straight theres 3 corners. Good run though, very nicely handling and nice to see you pushing it hard

RX8 is such an underappreciated car, people always try claiming the RX7 is better in *every* aspect when that is no where close to the truth.

Stock for stock the RX8 is better. But once its time to tune, mod and add all the bolt ons, RX7 13b REW Handles way more power than the Renesis 13b
