Nice vid. I have an RX8 track car and indeed, I can often keep up (or pass) with quite a number of big-powered cars as long as the driver is a notch below my skill level. Or even sometimes they are good drivers, but they are still on the OEM tires (300+ TW rated stuff), And by the back half of the session, all that power has simply turned those poor tires greasy and they can’t drive as confidently. Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)
for the misfire issue, if your fuel trims are trying to add a bunch of fuel and cant keep up, it might be your evap solenoid. i had a weird misfire issue when the car was hot and that solved my issue. dont buy a 3rd party one though. i did that and ended up having to chase all the problems back to the cheap 3rd party solenoid

Bigups from the UK.
Durrrr A shark can always outswim a cheetah in the water. As thus An RX8 and MX5 are Turn Kings, so they will dominate there in tracks. GTR will definitely win a Drag race. So each are kings of their own Fields. Also you didn't almost spin the car. The rx8 and MX5 can do handle even more than that and still hold control. As you seen the car kept full grip and handled it with no problem. That's the 50/50 that Both Rx8 and MX5 are known for
A stock GTR with a good driver would destroy this RX8 on almost any track. They are just driven differently.
@@dancarlos1216 Would love seeing one try. Gotta find the video were Two professional Drivers Try this one Hard track. One in a GTR and the other in an MX 5 and the GTR gets schooled big time. GTR was too heavy for the turns to keep up.
@@btkchaosreaperj.c7642 It’s certainly possible on super tight tracks, but most tracks have enough power zones to make up for.
Microphone addition 👌
I had it on my right shoulder, still caught a bit more wind than I thought. Need a better sock cover for it. Always trying to improve for yall!
The rx8 chassis is 2nd to none
i bet you hurt some feels that day
Got me stressing. I was like “he going to fast, here comes the turn” ahhhhhhh
Yeah lol but RX8 are literally made for that kind of driving. They handle amazingly.
lol you call it the cackle toon too?
Love the commentary! Great video! She’s gettin it out there! Keep it up!
Look again, he is using Microphone. Like Best motoring
wait the motor is really really far back
Behind the axle and small. The rx-8 is basically front mid-engined. It contributes to the balance of the car, which is out of this world.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county.
They vett and skyline drivers are clearly novices, Not impressive being faster than them.
put a good driver in the vette or skyline and they'll always win
for the misfire issue, if your fuel trims are trying to add a bunch of fuel and cant keep up, it might be your evap solenoid. i had a weird misfire issue when the car was hot and that solved my issue. dont buy a 3rd party one though. i did that and ended up having to chase all the problems back to the cheap 3rd party solenoid
Evap solenoid on the upper intake? I checked this last time i had them apart and all of them click. I will take a look, and try to find some OEM solenoids to swap in!
@@RADPotential Think my comment got marked for spam. But yes it's next to the oil fill cap on the very top of the intake. The official name of the part is evap purge valve solenoid. Hopefully that works 👍
I will check that one!!
Seems to me it's more about the driver, a competent driver in a momentum car like the Rx8, Miata, FRS, S2000, or even an older one like my 86 Firo GT in the hands of a skilled driver will do better than someone who doesn't know what they're doing with say a GTR, Corvette, Supra ETC.
Fiero GT was incredibly underrated car. I still love them to this day.
@@DatDarkOne It is a really fun car. Always gets lots of attention like thumbs up, people asking me what it is at gas stations and what not. You wouldn't believe how many people think it's some exotic but then I tell them no it's American and a Pontiac.
@@XxViciousxX Yes. It was truly ahead of it's time.
I love how clear your commentary is straight from the car, almost sounds like a voiceover how good we can hear you speak lol
That's not because the Rx8 is that fast, it's because the GT-R driver is a beginner on track and the Rx8 driver knows how to drive.
Here comes the people getting butthurt to the fact that a "crappy" car to them can be a good track car without spending upward of 80k like their beloved gtr.
Dude you are more entertaining than most other channels I have found! I have never wanted an rx8 more in my life!
Thanks man!! Check out todays Video!! More RX8 taking down big cars haha!
My fiance didn't let me get an RX8 :(. Hopefully one day I'll own one.
Love ur ride
Today is the day I’ve decided my first gen will be a street/track build.
Camera and mike on the noisy end please
Yea that guy with his sunglasses looks about the stereotype of the slight-jealous, braggy guy that likes Monster-Energy a bit too much, you'll encounter at every Car-Event with his Shitbox, hunting down firsttimers and People on a Cooldown.
I own a GTR and no way that GTR was usung even half throttle almost the whole time, the driver was probably very new to track or he didn't want to push for sure so dont be to exited thinking you can keep up
Modded RX8 vs a stock R35 and a driver who doesn't know how to drive/doesn't belong on the track. 🤣🤣 Put a real driver in the seat of the R35 and it would dust you be honest with yourself. It's not $50k + cars you're faster than, it's the terrible drivers behind the wheel that you're faster than 🤣
The vette driver just isn't experienced. Put a good driver in and you'll get left. I mean your in a car you can HAMMER the throttle with not very much throttle control up against cars you need pedal skills with lol js. Don't get to cocky.
If you keep your wheels waxed the brake dust comes right off easy. Just wiping them down with a waxy rag does work at keeping them clean
Can't tell you how many people thought they could keep up in the canyons only to fall 100 feet behind in the FIRST turn. Hell one time I lost a mustang on the way to the canyon in a slight curve.
I don’t mean to take anything from the video, but just wanted to mention that it’s the driver, not the car. The GTR is driving in the middle of the track… zzz. Although can’t beat the physics in those long sweepers.
*Pre-C8 corvettes have light asses...*
The thing you want most in a RWD.
Not that big of a deal. High money drivers might be new to the track so skills are low, or they just don't want to push super hard. Real fun to do but it doesn't really mean much.
Rx-8 it's soo Great on TRACK, the chassi is Great.. with a tune the RX-8 wiil fly even on the Straight.
1 Buy new gr86/brz for around 30k
2 Add coilovers, good wheels and brakes ~10k
3 Defeat cars that cost 80k
Coilovers are about 2K for some good ones.
Same for wheels/tires
Same the brakes
Spend 4 Gs on cocaine?
@@tmo2798 I was thinking meth! Nah just kidding, as it happens, at least where I live in Spain, you have to pay a fkton of money for parts. It's a 4 step process:
-Craft a part replacement project with the ITV (the lads that check our cars (government inspection)) I think this has a small fee.
-Buy the part (very rare to find them here so you have to import them for a large price)
-Pay for homologation (large fee)
-Pay a certified workshop (the one you arranged at the ITV)
10k is cheap around here T.T
i love following boats on the track too
they think they are jesus because they have 600hp
you arent using the whole track. focus on using more and more of the track and you will get faster.
Want to outrun more expensive cars for even cheaper? Get a second hand superbike lol
People seem to forget that GTRs can be modified too. Comparing a modded car to an emissions-compliant stock car is just pointless.
on a tight circuit rx8 all day, but on a big circuit, ill take my cls55 amg. handles like a dream, and accelerates like a jet
If your really a hardcore rotorhead you switch your heater on when chasin someone down : )
Hahha I had it on full blast!!
Why?
I think you're just a better driver! A pro driver could outrun a Corvette driver in a Prius tbh !
Rx8 has really good handling people worry to much about horse power 😂
The gtr driver is just awful put someone decent behind the wheel and the rx8 would be miles behind
All about the driver, a gtr and an rx8 aren't comparable on a track man.
GTR guy can't drive otherwise he could dub you, same thing the corvette
I dont think ppl want to write off their 80k car lol. Just enjoy their car on track
Don't race to beat the other car.
Race to beat the other driver.
That was fun to watch! Love your driving
If anyone is surprised by this yall dont know shit about cars lol
Well, what the hell do you expect? The R35 is honestly kind of stupid, its good tuning potential being its only saving grace. Overweight, slushbox, permanent AWD, one-trick pony that looks good (to be fair), and is good for huge power but not much else. It's no wonder they don't hold value compared to other supercars.
Come at me, angry 12-year-old weebs.
I would rather crash a 8k car than a 80K car thats for sure, ego trip
In what world can you get a GT-R for 80k?
Hi I pulled my plugs out of my Rx8 and they were covered in oil plus its smokes like crazy time for a rebuild right
100%
Junk it. It's not worth fixing. Should've bought a Miata.
thats some initial d shit bro
This video sooooooo makes me miss my RX-8. I loved that car.
On another note, this video proves just how big of a difference the "driver" mod can be.
Why are Corvettes hard to drive?
Don't take it easy, my man!! REEL THAT GTR IN BABYYYYY YYEEEEEAAAA :D :D :D
This is great! My first time seeing your track videos and I've been a sub for a while. I can't wait to meet you, man. You're a huge help and inspiration, my guy. I just bought and replaced my first Rx-8/ renesis. I am surprised how slow it is, ya.. but The thing shoots straight as an arrow wanting to turn. I can't wait until I'm on a track to push the limits.... It's such an amazing car. The handling is just phenomenal.
Colder plugs on hotter days. 😁👍
Lmao, those right side dashboard cracks, every rx8 has them
Mine "magically" didn't appear until after I took mine to dealership for some recalls. I think it was airbag recall. I definitely didn't have them before that.
Zoom Zoom Zoom! MAZDA FOREVER! ✌️✌️✌️
Corvette guy need some glasses look like
