Holy Shit I just saw this by accident. I thought this band was dead. This was one of my first goth bands that Cleopatra promos sent me back in the early 90's when I was doing zines and booking shows at my club back in the day when the goth scene was booming in the early 90's. I've left and forgotten the scene and retired for years but I'm glad I found this. A++++

Rather timely porl! Last year was disparity and misery and evoked a global notion of hopelessness. The world said collectively there’s no tomorrow for us. Nothing is guaranteed.
I can see contempt for some of the privileged and bored, ‘playing Goth’ because they’re bored and can afford all the brand accouterments... with no idea of true experiences and emotions that are behind that ‘fashionable gloom’. With no rites of passage forced on them - blissfully ignorant. Graffiti and bright-colored eclectic clothing of other characters in the video do not seem to ‘fit in’, but it’s all fresh and authentic... A Goth who fits in is an oxymoron. The storyline sounds familiar... welcome to the world where everyone plays dirty and giving your best, honest try gets you nowhere. But where ‘they’ are headed is still worse. Just listened to the album for the first time last night... Powerful. I’m letting it sink in.
Sorry just saw your comment. What I mean is how I understood the story in this music video. That is, the black and white part features the “Goth” lady who lives a fancy carefree life. For her it’s just a fashion trend, a vanity thing. The Gothic visuals have become that for many, which was not ok with the original Goth bands; being labeled “Goth” had felt, according to Mr. King himself, cheesy and embarrassing. The other two characters are the regular people who probably have to survive on meager wages to afford bare minimum. I see their brightly colored costumes as the expression of their emotions - despair, anger, burnout. Not the privileged ones and not likely to live better no matter how hard they try. The graffiti and abandoned sites are symbolic of “lower”, poverty-stricken classes. These guys may not look as classic Goths like that rich lady but I feel the genuine passion for life they have been robbed of. To me Goth is the truth one carries in their blood, with their heartbeat; it may take different forms. The contrast/clash between these two groups of people - those who can afford to just play and those for whom sh*t is real and has always been... it’s what I saw in the video. I sure hope I answered your question. Maybe some others wondered what I meant. It all seems clear to me but the feedback is welcome.
Hmmm... The way I feel about the song is there’s NO happy mood there. It’s catharsis through seeing and experiencing things as they are. It’s bawling one’s head off about it. Better than sticking it in the sand... I’m not sure I really understood your comment, hope this makes sense to you. And actually being aware of what’s going on does make me strangely happy... like being given the correct map to navigate through life and not hit anything like that lady.

There is very little documentation about this band it seems after surfing the net. Few videos, pictures, interviews. Might it be a conscient decision from there part? In an attempt to keep the mystery and integrity in what they do.
Reminds me on a band I once LOVED. Am a bit disappointed somehow. Where are the guitars, the choruses that enter your ears like hymns? Not bad at all, but...
Sorry but this is boring both vocally and musically speaking. Nothing about this song would make me want to hear it a second time and really, that is the mark of a good song....if you want to hear it again.
