kudos to Mcintosh for producing this product overview. nicely done! would love to see more product overview content for some other new and existing mac gear - especially before heading to the dealer to audition a piece!
I use the eq in my c53 preamp to get rid of a bass resonance around 50-60 hz in my room, what a difference. I also understand that if a frequency knob remains in the flat position , it is not in the circuit.
That is true. This is to make your stereo more fun. If you want "the best" a machine get a Receiver with a super advanced DSP and a computer callibrated software
@@TrueAudio Like the JBL Synthesis receivers and processors that use a DSP system called Logic which calibrates the system and controls each speaker separately and can split a stereo into 32 channels or whatever you want to do.
Left field question. Might a device such as this help combat room nodes? I have noticed that when I'm seated everything sounds fine, but if I stand the bass drops off noticeably. I can live with this but am curious. I thend to think it won't help much, but am not sure. Thanks.
Since EQs are set by people, it's better to see the curve you're creating, which you can't see with knobs. Sliders/faders show you the curve much better than these knob style EQs.

I love Mc products. Been a customer for decades.

How about some 80's style spectrum analyzers?
Some controls at 14khz+ would be nice to 'crispen' up recordings with possible HF losses, like cassette.
Eq brings out the best sound
Great info 🤙🏽
I love mine 👍🏼
How about an SPL mastering EQ as an alternative

@@irisfailsafe wife says way too much fuss
@@TrueAudio and she will be right.

Would you consider a cheaper 19” studio non luxery model?

I use a vintage Technics EQ which cost me $150. It’s dead quite and works perfectly. No doubt your EQ costs a bit more than $150.
Actually 3k $
Is this a parametric or graphic EQ?
Graphic. Parametric EQ's have adjustable Parameters (center frequency and width of the EQ band)
McIntosh need a fully specced streamer..
I looked & found 3000.00
If it costs less than a mortgage i’m in.
Macintosh? Don’t you “all” mean McIntosh? Or is everyone else wrong? There is no “a” in McIntosh… #justsaying
