You only have to take it if you haven't taken it, or if you didn't score high enough for the branch you want to join. What job and branch are you trying to join?
dadamimi10 Well, for an LS career field job, you need to look at your VE (Verbal Expression) and AR (Arithmetic Reasoning) scores. If you add them together and you have a score about 105, then you will qualify. Good Luck!
Can anyone provide info on a medical waiver for a elbow dislocation? I got PDQ yesterday at meps for it. I got into a car accident about 8 months ago and was completely cleared by my orthopedic in April for full activity and Military training. Im super confused because I know a lot of people who have had insane dislocations and actually had surgery for it but breeze through meps with no medical waiver. I didn't need surgery, it was a very minor dislocation and I had a zone 1 fracture(Just a bone chip). So If anyone can give me some feed back that would be great! Im so nervous Ill get denied a waiver for the Air Force.

I've looked it up and it can disqualify me so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Is there a way I can convince them not to because I can't see myself doing college and I've wanted to join since middle school and I will be pissed if acne prevented me from joining. Or do any of you have any suggestions on how to eliminate the acne other than accutane?

Do l tell them any of that or what bc it was only overdosing on pain killers?
If you have had suicidal thoughts or attempted i think its best you dont join imo. People cant even make it past 3 weeks in boot without wanting to kill themselves. And once you’re in boot, theres no way in hell you can get out unless you graduate. Thats why people attempt suicide bcuz they know they cant get out until graduation. Even with depression i suggest not going unless you’re 100% mentally good. Im just being honest. Thats why depression and anxiety is one of the disqualifications

Currently trying to leave for the Air Force, but I am retaking the ASVAB for my 6th time because my scores are all over the place, and due to myself having a GED. My scores went as following - 38, 29, 52 (confirmation test got a 36)/ went and got my physical done, but it didn’t take 13 hours, only took me 5 hours/ and I was told that my score of 36 was too low as I would have had to of scored at least a 42 being within a 10 point minimum, so I had to wait the 6 month waiting period. I just retook my ASVAB Thursday and got a 45, but now I was told that because of my GED, I must go back and retake the ASVAB again to score a 50 or higher in 30 days. People really weren’t lying when they say the Air Force is the hardest branch to get into.
I scored a 71 AFQT the first time I took the test lol. In all seriousness though, that test is really stupid on certain sections. Like the puzzles, mechanical and electrical stuff that I’ve never been taught in school. Somehow I did pretty damn well on my guessing on those sections.
So my eyesight is pretty bad yo. & I don't wear glasses or contacts because I... Idk I jus never got them replaced. Will they make me get them before I can be accepted?

It's the same type of questions basically as your recruiter interview. They're basically trying to get you to trip up in a lie at some point so that they can disqualify you if you are lying
M C I think by “crazy” he means doing drugs and alcohol while you’re in the process of joining. You’ve gotta be pretty damn stupid to be doing that stuff when you’re about to go for your MEPS trip.
M C they do a breathalyzer test. I’m not exactly sure how long your breath can be analyzed for alcohol but as long as it’s not immediately in your system it should be fine. Although I’m sure a quick google search will tell you how far back a breathalyzer can detect alcohol.
I have two erupted wisdom teeth. They don't hurt, but I'm still able to chew with them on the right side of my mouth. Have you heard of anyone disqualified for that?

Nope. You can get a waiver for that but it'll take some time. Or you can hide it but it's completely up to you. Disclose everything to your recruiter and you'll figure it out from there.
+Tatyanna Travis You can take you ASVAB the same day. It takes about an hour or so. Depending on if your recruiter gave you the PICAT, it should be a quick process. In my situation, my PICAT expired and i had to take a different version of the ASVAB. You are given paper and pencil to do your work on. Hope this helps :)

+Alexis Anderson mine has been really good about answering all my questions. I'm doing all I can to diminish my debt. In total, it's roughly $4,000 to include my student loans. That puts my monthly payments well under the income-debt ratio so hopefully that doesn't put a block on my enlistment process. As for my practice exam, I got a 75 without studying at all. I think I could've scored higher had I actually finished it (ran out of time with about 6 questions left). I'm really eager to join so I'm doing all I can to make sure it goes without a hitch. ashley tuite I thought the AFQT and the ASVAB were the same thing. You need a 36 on the ASVAB to join the Air Force, but most jobs require you to have a 45-55 range anyways. So you reaaally need a 45-55 on your ASVAB to join the Air Force. Most of our jobs are general or mechanical. So if you do well in those, you'll qualify for a lot of career fields.
the afqt is what people commonly mistake as, "the asvab score". Now here's the thing, as you know the asvab is comprised of I believe 9 test subjects. But the afqt score is actually comprised of 4 of the asvab test which are: arithmetic reasoning, math knowledge, paragraph comprehension, and word knowledge. Do good in these areas and you'll get a good afqt score. Now on the asvab each test subject will have its own score. In the air force, there are four job aptitude areas, mechanical, administrative, general, and electrical. Each aptitude area has a score that based on a formula from certain asvab test subjects scores. For instance the formula to calculate the mechanical score would be general science+mechanical comprehension+autoshop. Hope that helps, I basically summarized what my asvab study book said
