Love the video, especially since I am planning on using containers for all my buildings when I have the money saved up for acreage. I was thinking of joining two containers together to make a wider ‘building’ like a barn and other structures needed for a homestead….but wasn’t sure if it was possible or how to go about it. So again, thanks for the video and I will definitely be emailing you about the details…
Hey Channing, another great and informative video. I may have seen a 53' container before but was glad to see via your video that they do exist. As a 'wannabe-engineer' I enjoy your graphics and details that you provide. The 'J' channel info was perfect as well as how you place supports, where and why you do so. I am so glad I have been able to watch your videos before buying and modifying a container(s) as I know I would have been dealing with a lot of the problems you describe having if certain precautions are not done, etc. Also, you described the floor pans in this video that you installed due to this particular job being for hazard material containment. Again, as a 'wannabe-engineer' I certainly would enjoy (as I am sure others would too) seeing the details of how they are made, added and how plumbed, etc... I know that is more than what your videos are into but even a short time-lapse video of their being made and installed would suffice. Anyhow, thanks again for very informative videos. Keep up the great work!
Are you asking us to build a container home? We've been opposed to this forever. I think it's time we take on a project. I designed a practical one a year ago. I'll show a 3D tour of it in the coming weeks in the RUclips channel. Stay tuned
@@TheContainerGuyTV The short answer is 'Yes' to building a container home. If not then maybe show how a kitchen, bathroom, etc. are installed for those containers that will be used at construction sites and so on. I would like to build a shipping container home for myself one day and your videos certainly cut through a lot of the guesswork. Thank you again!
@@waltertrisko1737 Here's a video of a container cabin I built a long time ago which has a kitchen and bathroom: ruclips.net/video/VxCrLFzv-E4/видео.html If I was to build a legit home, I would build it on a concrete basement and collect all the utilities down there.
Hi there. Very professional video. Congrats for that. Do you by any chance tried to connect two 40ft containers side by side to be used as a Testing Pool ? We are the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) and we are in the process of constructing/purchasing a testing pool to test our ROVs and gliders. Out of the 12m long, we need it to be an 8.5m(Length)X4.80m(width). The rest it will be the Filtration room.
Hi, my name is Magno and I live in Brazil. I liked very much your video. I'd like your sugestion to join three container. The problem that is de middle container that we have no one wall. What the best solutions in my case?
How you live in Canada and use the imperial measurement system, don't Canada use metric system? Are you saying the Imperial system is more accurate than metric system?
All Canadians think in feet and inches. Metric is much better for metal fab but if someone told me something is 457mm long, I would have to convert it to 18" to be able to visualize how long it is. We're hybrids because when it comes to highway speeds, we think in km/h. Both units of measure are 100% accurate. Impossible for one to be more "accurate" than the other.
What about stitching three 20ft - high cube containers to form a moderate square? Trying to create a 24x20 personal/professional home gym setup on my property adjacent from the house itself in a modular designed literal open outdoor floor plan Environment: Desert, temp range 26.5* - 101.2* / Record 117.4* (85 yr avg data) Foundation: Concrete Pad Rain: 5.83" in Annually Snow: 0.4" Annually - Front container will have the original factory available full open side that will open up the front fully. - The middle container will need to have a man door on one of the ends. but both long sides will be needing removal - Rear Container will have/need a single offset locking roll-up door, the rear offset roll-up door will allow for passive airflow during use and opposite of that will have a 2 occupant personal inside self contained sauna vented to the outside but would pull airflow from within the gym space. Would prefer to add an above slightly over-sized mono-pitch roof that would offer some shade for a simple seating area outside. Have plenty of diner napkin sketched ideas. Since we're all in here poking brains anyway haha, appreciate your thoughts, or anyone's for that matter.
Yes, I am finally the first like and first comment on a video.
Thanks for ya'lls content.
Thanks Sean. We'll have to send you a link one week before it's posted for early access haha.

@@TheContainerGuyTV Wife and I would love to see you build a container home!
Channing.....your not the "Container guy", your actually "The container God"!!!
Thank you for the tips. The most value to me was your comment that 53' steel is paper thin.
Yeah we find it much harder to weld. Must be mild steel instead of Corten and likely thinner than the regular 1.6mm thick.
Good luck 👍
Thank you so much for this Visio good information 🙏
The the cap coving the connection is the roof strong enough for snow ? I thinking about a container home in Michigan…

I’m curious about stacking them too
Can you do either concerning the upper support or lower support ?
Not certain what you're asking but you have to deal with both the upper and lower structural support. Can't only do one.
Thank you for the clarification

What about a 45 and 48 ft container
Appreciate
Can you ship a container that has been combined overseas?
I don’t see the header supper on your web page .
Do you ship to Midwest USA?

Hello i want to join 2 40ft containers together, how much would it cost?
Can you create strength by welding the 2 top headers together top and bottom?
Or maybe tossing a 1/4” x 12” flat plate between them?
Thanks
Where are you located
God's Country: Saskatchewan
Seems like you're doing more than what's needed.
In some of our systems, yes.
@@TheContainerGuyTV perhaps do a video showing how to cut container roof off and how to build a simple raised ceiling for extra height.
Don't think we really get 53 s in Europe, plenty of 45's though
Note to self.... Don't cut containers

Interesting, Slot more to this than it looks 🇺🇸👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚐🏡
