Whilst any sport has a referee, the sport plays to that referees whistle and the rules laid down by it's governing body.
The FIA have said no swearing in any press conference, and that's the way it's got to be.
If the drivers dont like it, any driver, leave.
If Verstappen wants to say the minimum in the official FIA driver press conferences, that's up to him, he's contracted to attend and answer media questions, but he must abide by the FIA rules regarding talking to the press in those official televised conferences.
If he then choses to hold his own, unofficial, unteleised, private press conference, then it must be conducted away from the circuit, where he is free to speak his mind.
Any press conference held at the curcuit during a race weekend, Thursday to Sunday, will be conducted under the FIA rules and abided by.
Why are people bothering with interviewing Steiner regarding this?
When he was a team principle in F1, he had a voice, not much of one, but he had a voice, a 10th of one.
He's no longer in F1.
What he says means nothing.
Steiner, like everyone can have an opinion, but that's all it is, his voice in F1 has gone!
