So good! The photos with the backlit steam and people walking in front are spectacular. Thanks for reminding that moving camera relative to light can make such a huge difference in the feeling of the photo. Cheers!
Thank YOU for letting us see your wonderful photos....and the movies, how and where they were "born". The way you tell the stories is butterhoney for my ears: no loud worldrecord fastspeed blablabla, and no annoying electronic noise to increase my bloodpressure (like my teachers nail against the blackboard😵💫). Many RUclipsrs are talking as if the winning goal was scored in one or another worldcup game and not the explaining of the settings of a camera 🤓👍
Congrats! Your videos are a very pleasant mix of a nice voice talking about your thoughts without being too overloaded while the video-photo mix is really beautiful and the music fits in nicely.
I've walked more than 100 miles on the street over the past fortnight. I'll miss this summer! Think I'll probably buy the 33mm for the winter, so I've got something better than by current f2.8 for evening shots. Lovely.
I recently discovered your channel and am really glad that I did. 2 things: 1, I noticed you dont do much night street photography and you joked that you would be at pubs/etc. I really love nighttime shooting and think it would add more great shots to your work and more RUclips content. 2, you videos dont have a published date. The date is important as it gives a context especially when you talk about gear - what was available at that time what you were using. You have some great work and I really like your style of video. Keep it up!
Thanks for this! Loving this concept of video! I feel as if I’m becoming technically proficient at photography, now learning to see the world around me and “setting up” shots by seeing where the light is coming from etc. is what I’m working on! Hearing the thought process from someone as talented as you is truly eye opening! Keep up the great work!
Amazing morning for light! Awesome video Roman, great collection of shots. A particular favourite is the truck and bike at the crossing but all fantastic 👏
Roman, great stuff. Do know that u have had a profound influence on the way I look at photography. Besides the obvious stuff like style and composition, its your general outlook towards photography thats refreshing
Thank you for the explanation of why you chose to reposition yourself to backlight the steam. I'm fairly new to the channel and hoping that they're a regular feature of the pov vids (at least for one photo of interest). PS love the photos! Pity you didn't get any on the Brooklyn bridge... maybe next time.
Brooklyn bridge can be tough. Always has photo/wedding/engagement/portrait/film crews around. Have to get there super early for the iconic snaps. Another good backup is to to head to Dumbo, grab the Manhattan/Empire state pic, maybe some of Brooklyn parks (ex. Domino)
I just purchased my own X-T4 second-hand and already have the XF35 F2 lens. I get great inspiration from your channel as what can be achieved in street photography
Looks like a great trip! Just got the 33 1.4 a few days ago and I’m excited to take it out. I noticed it looks like you don’t have a filter on your lens and would like to make a suggestion of getting a uv filter just to protect the glass. If your lens scratches up again something on accident during travel it’s a lot easier to replace a cheap filter than the whole lens.
How do you expose your shots? Are you letting the camera do it, in which case what metering mode do you use, or are you in fully manual mode? EDIT: I asked the question just a few seconds before you started talking about it in the video. Still wondering what metering mode you use. (Hope I didn’t miss it if you said).
Great cinematic images Roman, something I’m trying to do more of but with little success lately, I’ve not been out enough though to be fair. You seem to definitely have enjoyed yourself over there, doubt it’ll be so long until you’re back
@@snapsbyfox I was supposed to be in London for a Meet Up next month but funds are lacking unfortunately so trying to go more places up here rather than just Manchester, you get bored of seeing the dome thing, sometimes even the same people 🤣
Love the shots. Could you include the metadata teach shot. I am interested in what speed some of the shots with moving images were taken. I knowyuou said you used aperture priority and let speed and ISO "float", but at the same time?
Cheers John. Yeah that's right... here I just shoot in Aperture Priority. Hence why I don't put settings as I don't select them. I just float the Aperture around f4 but can go down as low as 1.4 and as high as 8. Exposure tends to remain between -0.3 and 0.3 depending on light
Great video What happens to all the photos, can you make money from them or do you make more money with the RUclips video. Interest to see if it may be a job I can do Thanks

The photos are really good and captured at the perfect timing. Kudos Sir
This is wonderful. The format, the music, and the photos. I feel like I'm getting a private lesson with my favorite photographer. Thank you so much.

I really liked the talking segment, it’s cool to see how you think and approach your compositions
Will be doing more of them

Love the way you give tips on actual street shot

I’ve been studying street photography recently and your video on understand lift really helped me! This video is inspiring, please don’t stop posting!
*light*
Your POV’s of London are a delight to watch. It seemed that you were really struggling to find any worthwhile compositions in NYC.

You are becoming one of my favourite photographers Roman. Beautiful work.
there is no street photography pov like yours, thx, learn a lot.

Yeah that's a good spot and saved for next time
Great photos and thanks for briefly sharing the cam settings.
Always great to get some inspiration before I go out and shoot. 50-140mm gets here tomorrow and heading straight to the city!
awesome! have fun!

Does the 35mm f2 have a place in your bag anymore?

Cheers! I never bother with filters as once I had one seize on the lens and I did more damage to the lens trying to get it off haha
You’re very quickly becoming my favourite photographer 👌🏾

Which camera did you use to film the video? Does the lens looks like "the human eye" or not?
Inspiring and chilling. Love it!
Cheers!
Seems like a wonderfull lens! You took some amazing photos goddamn!
Do you really Gopro Hero 9 as Pov Cam? This footage is sick.
that steam was a gift from the gods :-)
Loving the vibes Roman! Motivated to head and just shoot without overthinking it
Great video, love the travel photography stuff :)
