you said 3phase motor cant run on synchronous speed, bro synchronous motos also works on 3 phase ac supply only dc current is just used to reach the rpm on synchronous rpm in rotor.
Dc Supply is given to Rotor winding through slip rings so that rotor can have magnetic locking with rotating magnetic field of 3 phase winding, and that's how synchronous motor rotates on Synchronous speed.
