That gratuity concept is crazy and corrupt. Government employees shouldn’t be allowed to accept any kind of ‘gratuity’ or payment for doing their official jobs. As a GS-15 federal employee of 23 years there’s nothing borderline about this.
Any employment I ever had said no gifts from clients/customers/patients/consumers, nor agency reps! Government was supposedly, the never, ever! WTH highest, jurisdiction in the land should be well beyond reproach! Not the dirtiest!
Yeah. You get a gratuity for providing a service. Technically their paycheck is a gratuity and that should be the only one they are allowed otherwise they start to play favorites.
Heck, even as a bag boy working at a Safeway grocery store in 1981-83, we were prohibited from accepting a tip from customers for service such as carrying the customer’s purchases to their cars. How can a supreme court judge accept “tips” “gifts” “gratuity” without being influenced?
Didn't the Court consider PATTERNS of activity??? "I decided to approve this action". "Here's a gift card". "I decided to perform this action again." "Here's another gift card." "I decided to perform this action again, and the previous two gift cards had NOTHING to do with this current actiona." "Oh certainly not, and here's another gift card to thank you for your service."
This is definitely taking tipping too far. If you can't accept gifts why is it okay to accept gratuities? And why are there people tipped before they do anything?

Isn't it extraordinary that we can accept that there are at least two meanings of the word "fact"? On the one hand, in everyday discourse the term 'fact' is taken to mean a statement about a real, verifiable datum. In the courts however, a fact is what police officers write on their complaints, and eventually what the judge decides is a fact. In other words, the legal system depends on opinions while couching that in language that means something else in everyday discourse.

Interesting opinion and composition. Re: the COVID issue itself-- Have you ever read the phase 3 clinical trial docs from Pfizer and Moderna? They're extremely worthwhile to read, regardless what one thinks one knows about the COVID shots. They're on FDA's website, though quite hard to find.
