I just picked up an Ampeg 410HE cabinet at a thrift store for 100 bucks! My friend is going to give me his old Hartkee 3500 to go with it. We’ll have very similar setups. Cheers to budget, but great sounding, bass rigs.
I miss that amp, its quite overlooked. I had a few ampeg cabs and I thought they all were choking any amp I used with them. I had a hartke cab that was much more musical. This inspired me to grab a used 3500 for a second amp!
I would like to get the fan swapped out so it will work in a quieter setting. It is a work horse!
was looking up reviews of 410hlf and came across your channel... subbed
that major amp freak out is so relatable. my guitarist spilled a drink all over my ampeg last practice!!! the “how dare you” is a very relatable feeling lol. it still works and the guitarist is still alive :)
I spilled water on my MacBook Pro last week. I wish accidents didn’t happen.
I found a fan the same cfm with a lower db rating. Spiliced the wiring pigtail onto it, and now I have a quiet HA3500!
That's where we have been stuck!
realbeal this is the fan, but Mouser appears to have them back ordered right now. You might be able to find it someplace else. Mouser electronic part# 978-9S0824L4011 sanyo denki part# 9S0824L4011. www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Sanyo-Denki/9S0824L4011/?qs=%2fha2pyFadugysr5FfPlyoQxwkvUMm91nPXfJd1XtxN7It6dJc3Xglg%3d%3d
You will need to cut the pigtail from the oem fan, then splice it onto the new fans wires. If you’re not comfortable with splicing, soldering, and heat shrinking, pay an amp tech to install it for you.
It still isn’t completely silent, but it is much quieter. I can comfortably use it in my home office which is tiny. Since your amp is presently working, you might consider just ordering one in spite of the back order.
Dude.... Thanx for making this video. Been waiting for ever to see your amp set up. Happy mothers day Di you're the best.
Thanks Marco!
Thanks for your review. I'm hoping to get this same amp myself (+ Hartke cabs) & your video is about the only one I've found in English which helps to give me an idea of how the amp sounds! (For some reason just about every other Hartke demo I've found is from South America or Eastern Europe!).
Interesting! The music community on RUclips is very international. How long have you written worship songs?
@@realbeal My wife and I have been writing worship songs on & off together since about 2008, not long after we first got married. Would love to write more if we only had more time.....! :)
Thank you so very much for taking the time and making this you tube movie for us to enjoy. I found it both interesting and informative not to mention entertaining. I have been out of the music seen for almost 50 years and find myself with more questions than answers as far as new (new to me) equipment goes. Being a Christian man I follow more closely to what believer has to say about what is and is not worth looking into than others on the inter web. I will definitely check into a setup such as yours, it sounded great to me. In closing thank you again for your input. God Bless. Yours through Christ our lord and savior, Pops
Thank you so much!
Nice rig Di! And nice bass too!
Thanks Frank!
Please what is the bass of your bro ? Thanks ! And nive video, clear and efficient ^^ thanks ! Push up.
The rig I use at my church is a svt4 pro head by ampeg and an ampeg 6×10 cab. Rock solid.
That is a great choice.
Happy Mother's Day To The Best Bass Playing Mom Ever!
Thank you!
Great sounds, have a great day. Happy Mother’s Day.
Thanks!
Funny hotdog story. I too would be less than happy if that happened to my gear!
An HA3500 paired with an Ampeg SVT-410HLF would be a killer bass rig!!!
As for the specs, I'm not sure who wrote the copy that the speakers in the 410HLF are the same as the ones in the 410HE as that cannot be true. The 410HE has four 32 ohm speakers (same as the SVT-810) connected in parallel resulting in an 8 ohm cabinet. The 410HLF is a 4 ohm cabinet so the speakers are either 16 ohms or 4 ohms each. Beside the point, but I hate ad copy that is blatantly wrong. And it doesn't appear that your cabinet has Speakon connectors as it is older than when Ampeg started using them.
thank you! I will have to do some digging around the internet to see if I can get the correct information!
Ampeg is great i miss mine alot super clean sound and alotta punch
I like Ampeg too!
realbeal i had a nice one but then kids lol happy mothers day!
Hartke stuff is my favorite :) Have you ever tried the LH500 or LH1000? Oh man...that tone!
I don’t know. I’ll have to look those up.
I just got the Hartke 3500 Mofset. When I power it on, I wait about 30 seconds and then it clicks. Finally, after it clicks, it sends an output to my cabinet.
Is this normal for these amps? Thanks!
P.S. sometimes it clicks in after 30 seconds, sometimes it clicks in after 3 seconds... So strange. Hope someone can explain.
I drive my 410HLF cab with an Ampeg SVT -7 PRO amp. The cab is great. Had a problem with the head
What was the problem?
realbeal
Bad circuit board. They honored the warranty on this one, but they snubbed me on the 115 combo like the one in your earlier video. I have had more problems with Ampeg products than any other brand of bass gear I've ever owned. It's unfortunate too because my two influencing bass players, James Jamerson of Motown notoriety and Duck Dunn of Stax Records fame were staunch Ampeg loyalists. 😐😕
How would you rate this cabinet in terms of volume and lows versus other 410s or perhaps the Ampeg 810E?
Obviously the 410E or 810E being sealed will be a different animal than the 410HLF BUT I’m just talking comparisons based on personal opinions and taste.
I’ve heard this particular cab you have here puts out some nearly sub level lows and can be “muddy” with the notion of pairing two of these cabs as unmanageable.
Simpler could be is this cabinet loud enough with enough bottom end to where perhaps one maybe doesn’t need the 810 or actually wouldn’t prefer it?
I’m seeking a large rig and for example I’m pondering an 810 setup, going with this SVT-410-HLF and a Hartke LH-1000 head or going with Greenboy custom plans and getting a 15/6/1 made.
Thank you for your time and any opinions related to this including “everyone has PA none of this is necessary”
The 410 is more than I can move alone so the 810 is out for me. However, I love the 810. I was just admiring them at NAMM. If you can lift it, you should get it. Let me know what you decided!
I'm New to your channel.
Great demo video 👍
Hotdog all over your equipment??
Not cool!!
Were they willing to compensate you in any way??
They paid our hotel for the gig and covered some meals, but that was it.
@@realbeal
I guess, something is better than nothing?!?!
I would hope, if anyone's equipment was damaged in any way... they would pay for damages!!
I imagine you bringing your amp home after the gig, and your dog licking your amp,
Because it smelled like hotdogs!! Lol.
I played a hartke 2500bass Head through an acoustic 371 bottom, that was a folded horn, with an 18-in speaker!!
WOW!!!!
The Hartke powered up that cabinet, very nicely!!
Can I add a another cabinet with a 15-inch speaker?
Are you going to daisy chain it?
Nice!! 🎸
Thank you!
I want to buy the HA3500 but i want to know if you can use it without a cab. Can you give me the answer?
It's an amp head, meaning that it needs a separate cabinet to be used. A combo has an amp and a cabinet in the same box. If you want to buy a head and cabinet, you should read about output and impedance (watts and ohms)
I saw the Hartke 3500 Head at Sam Ash's website
I will have to check it out.
You look strikingly similar to Rachel Goswell
She is so pretty! Thanks!
Smiley faces are speaker killers. Best way to use EQs are to cut frequencies not boost them
What about frowny faces?
Good job it wasn't roast beef.
That amp must cost a fortune
When it was new!
I, myself, have a Fender Frontman Amp 10G-Ever Heard Of One Of Those?
I think I saw one at Tommy's Guitars.
kjchicago1 the head or the cabinet? Because used Hartke HA amps are cheap. Anywhere from $150-$300. The ampeg cab can be fairly affordable used too $350-$500. Go used and find them in good condition you wouldn’t have to spend more than $600 for a great half stack.
Had to stop the video to say this. In reference to the hotdog story. People. Would. Die.
Ha ha ha ha! Yes! That seems like a reasonable response! Ha ha!
Hi Di, are you married ? I love a sexy bass girl. The Ampeg SVT 410 HLF is a great bottom end sounding cabinet. Larry Hartke is a friend. If you are in New York, you can find him at Sam Ash at
333 W 34th St, and 9th. Avenue New York. Thank you for the video and yes, I did subscribe.
Yes. I am married. Thanks for subscribing!
Realbeal, the nice ones are always taken, your welcome.
