@@randomuser4895 I'm not a pacifist. Humans are flawed and there will always be situations where violence is literally the only answer. However I think they are talking about deeper structural issues. Take Hitler and the Third Reich for example (I'm Jewish btw) - obviously the situation in 1939 was untenable, an emergency. War became the only option to put that evil to an end. But look also at the years and decades leading up to that situation, it didn't arrive out of nowhere. These things had been happening for years without challenge - the US and UK governments and mainstream media even vocally supported or at least appeased the Nazis until they started their policy of 'expansion' (aka invading other countries, thereby putting Allied territories at risk). Hell, the gas used in concentration camps was manufactured in the USA and sold to the Nazis for profit... now look at our own times and the involvement of the US government in arms dealing, torture and propping up dictators in struggling countries.
Sorry for the long rant! But it really is interesting to look deeper at this issue and ask "if war is the answer, what is the question." War never comes from nowhere, it's never a surprise. It's the result of a million decisions by people in power. Instead of just accepting the line "war is sometimes necessary" we should educate ourselves, campaign and vote about these issues *before* war has become the only option.

Currently living in Florida and having experienced a shooting at my school, it’s a horrible thing to experience. But it’s amazing how everyone comes together and cares for one another. This song has a great meaning and it shares a very important message right now with all of these horrible events occurring. If the process for good, hard, honest working class citizens to get into the country legally was easier this wouldn’t be happening. It does not change the fact that laws are laws and if we allow certain people to break them then were allowing everyone to break them. It may be unfair that people have less opurtunity than others, and trust me, ive lived in the philippines a 5th of my live. I know what true poverty and sickness is. Its unfortunate but Americans have rights too. Our economy is crap and we have a high unemployment rate. Its unfaut to U.S citizens who were either born here or who worked to get their citizenships to struggle because of people who are taking their jobs that arent even supposed to be here. And as far as making guns illegal, that doesnt stop the many evil people out there from accessing them. Most school shooters get guns from outside of family. If we take away guns not only our we stripping away americabs rights, were taking away the freedom this country was built on, why it was so succesful. Many people are ignorant to the process of how you actually legally get a gun, and i dont know if you do or not so im not going to assume wether you do or not. But it is a solid process that works. We also have to look at the fact that stabbing happen more often than shootings, murder with hands is more common yhan murder with guns. The problem with America is were to focused on whats being used to kill, and not focusing enough on whos using the tool to kill. If we can help these teens early on then we wont have a problem with shooting. We need to change the system to one where the schools listen to students. Teenagers get fustrated at adults who treat them like children and dont let them make desicions. I understand they may not always know what their talking about, but the best way to learn is from mistakes. If people treat them like children they feel disrespected and begin to have a hatred toward adults and it grows and grows which leads to rebellian, and if its kept in to much or provoked enough it can lead to teens going to drastic measures to let it out. If adults listen to teens and treat them with respect they learn to be confident with themselves and they grow and mature. As the current generations are increasinly bring tormented and criticized by older generations, the insecurity and anxiety goes up which leads to depression which can also lead to impairments in ones judgemant that may lead to tragic events. In short we just all need to be careful about how we talk to each other.
That's a pretty ignorant opinion. If a person wants to rob a bank or kill someone, they're not gonna go through licensing, waltz into their local gun store and buy something. They'll get it illegally, its very easy to get a gun illegally. Meanwhile who ever they're about to shoot up can't protect themselves because everyone wants to make it harder to.. Not only that, making it harder to buy a gun isn't going to stop school shooters, most of those kids don't even own the guns they used.

They dislike it because it makes school shootings everyone’s fault by what they are saying. This is messed up.
I don’t get how a song is going to stop school shooting.....? How about we actually do something to stop it or prevent it
A song itself is not going to STOP immediately the shooting of course. But a song is a way to impact people, and itself contribute to stop the bs. Through their art they want to impact and to raise awareness all over the world (for example I live very FA from the USA, so you can tell) At the end of the song, they picture when children were taken away from their parents. They try to point out the fact that the system is crooked if i can tell, by not taking away guns from the kids but taking them away from their parents.Then, they encourage you to vote.
This is my understanding.

When Covid hit and my school was shut down for the rest of the year I was relieved I wouldn't have to worry about being shot for the next 3 months. At first I was ashamed for being happy about that because of the reason school was cancelled, ashamed that I was happy when everyone else was so scared. Every single time I come back and watch this film, or hear the song, I burst into tears. This is really hard to watch as they say at the beginning, not only because of what is seen here, but because we all know how true and frequent this is.
