Ghost of Tsushima gameplay trailer shows gameplay
Ubisoft: *THATS ILLEGAL*
COPY PASTE
Xbox : wait that's illegal
Xbox: wait thats....... what the f**k is this??
Yeah atleast Xbox and Ubisoft apologized
Ubisoft: "We think an assassins creed game with ninja's and samurai would be boring so we're not doing it."
Sony and Sucker Punch: "Fine. I'll do it myself."
All jokes aside, while this game clearly has more inspiration than just AC, this still feels like a more faithful AC game that the actual new AC game.
AJ’s samurai playthrough: *confronts Mongolian soldier* “FIGHT ME!”
Alex’s stealth playthrough: *sneaks behind soldier and stabs him.*
OJ’s stealth playthrough: *sneaks behind soldier* “FIGHT ME!”
Then falls through map lol
soldier: turns around and walks past OJ
😂 I keep thinking of the avatar sneaking behind the npc and yelling "FIGHT ME" in his ear scaring the crap outta him.
He's going to startle everyone to death
You know it’s real gameplay when an ai is facing the wall
This and cyberpunk are on my wishlist.
Elden Ring is a game I'm looking forward to but WHERE IS THE GAMEPLAY!?
And screen says "Press Square" since you are not allowed to choose what to press but one button to do certain thing.
That’s the one thing I’m most concerned about. I just hope the AI is way more smarter than we’re led to believe :/
And I like that the enemies come at you one at the time so it's not too hard..
I like how the mechanics keep you focused on the gameplay and the beauty of the nature without having to open your map every 30 seconds
No Mini Map either to stare at instead of whats ahead of you
Uno games have waypoints and mini maps lol
Well you still open it up every 30 seconds but instead of map markers it's the wind

Thats cursed af
Just a note for Joe and anyone who might read this: This is based on the actual historical invasion of the island of Tsushima by the Mongols, so it really happened, in case you might be curious to learn a bit about the history before playing the game. In regards to the two play styles there are some things worth considering: Jin is trained samurai and therefore the methods of the "Ghost" are dishonorable and would be unthinkable for a samurai. However, Jin is forced to abandon some of that if he is to defeat his enemies and it begins to worry his master. I believe this is a massive theme that will be present throughout the game and I'm not sure you will be able to avoid using the stealth aspects entirely, either due to design that serves that story or the game just being too difficult without the "Ghost" techniques. Personally, I HOPE it mostly relies heavily on the player and it is possible to play most/all of the game through without using the shinobi techniques if you want to. The people at Suck Punch did their research on the history and culture, even Shinto and it is also represented in just this trailer.
Thanks for making me aware of that. I was aware of the invasion of Tsushima but always thought this game would stray from being historically accurate for the sake of entertainment.
@@sadcat9634 Not very Japanese of you to say something like that, most Japanese people I've seen love to see their culture being explored by other people.

In Tsushima island, the legend says that the victory was achievers by a “magical wind.”
Now real history, therr was some sort of powerful hurricanes that seriously halted the mongol invasion... twice.
I normally don’t believe in most legends but that one always had me shook reading it
Also would make sense to associate Jin with the wind as he is going after the mongols .
Imagine if ACmade a game using that legend? Achievers using an ISU (Precourser) object of wind.
Fun fact: The ships the Mongols took over wernt really able to handle the sea waves well. They sat ontop of the water, and were better suited to rivers and other calm waters.
@@JapanatWar The production was rushed because Kublai wanted it to end quickly because of financial issues. Aside from the invasion of the Song every military campaign Kublai ordered failed. The dude was a decent administrator and a good commander when he was young but he lost his edge and became impatient in his later years. With his massive technological advantages(Japanese tachi chipped and some even broke against the Mongol leather armor and Japan really didn't have that much metal) plus the vast resources of the Yuan empire, Kublai could've easily conquered Japan if he actually did some diplomatic maneuvers to turn some lords, gathered some information about the terrain and actually did some planning like the generals of his grandfather. Genghis and his generals usually *knew* their enemies before they struck them down. The Mongol spynetworks were vast and efficient under Genghis and Ogodei's rule. I wouldn't be surprised if Subutai knew King Bela's bathroom habits lol.

It has stealth mechanics from Batman Arkham Knight

Suckerpunch never do something like that, their not EA nor activision, but DLC yes they have to be paid
It's a sony exclusive, they've avoided micro stuff as it antagonizes the user base.
Its shows to be more profitable in the long run on playstation because the community has ended up trusting them on their exclusives which has probably caused a lot more sales in games.
Just look at spiderman and god of war, both sold well over 10 million each, that's like a billion dollar in profit from just 2 games and it didnt come at the expense of community trust.

Hey, Joe if you like Ran, then you will really love hidden fortress, and of course Seven Samurai.
Highly recommend, Joe.
Both directed by the same director of Ran, Akira Kurosawa.
Akira Kurosawa is arguably the finest filmmaker of all time. Up there with Kubrick, simply because of his quality x versatility. The dude just doesn't miss, no matter which genre he delves into:
Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Ran, Ikiru, High and Low, Throne of Blood, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, The Hidden Fortress, Red Beard, Stray Dog, The Bad Sleep Well, Kagamusha. And that's just his masterpieces. Name another director with that many masterpieces under his belt, let alone mere good films.
Rashomon and Yojimbo are my favorite of his. Can't really go wrong with Kurosawa. Nearly all of his films are masterpieces.
Seven Samurai is literally one of the best movies ever made. Critically acclaimed, surprisingly timeless, and beautifully shot for a 1950's film. Akira Kurosawa's work is legendary.
Of course, he is a master at what he did. His works inspired and heavily influenced a lot of good western directors like George Lucas.

Some awesome Samurai films to watch while waiting for the July release of Ghost of Tsushima:
AKIRA KUROSAWA CLASSICS: 7 Samurai, Yojimbo, Rashomon, Throne of Blood, Ran, Kagemusha, The Hidden Fortress (FUN FACT: The Hidden Fortress is the movie that inspired George Lucas to create Star Wars Ep#1 and Kurosawa's most famous leading man the incomparable Toshiro Mifune was George's original choice for Obi-Wan Kenobi😉).

Both book, films & the popular manga Vagabond are inspired by the life & exploits of the titular legendary swordsman), Sword of Doom, Samurai Rebellion, Onibaba (a great thriller set in Feudal Japan), Kuroneko (classic supernatural-themed film set in Feudal Japan).
MODERN ERA-MADE SAMURAI FILMS WORTH WATCHING: The Last Samurai, Rurouni Kenshin live-action trilogy (2 more RK films planned), 47 Ronin, The Hidden Blade, The Twilight Samurai, 13 Assassins, Shogun (FUN FACT: Japanese film legend & Kurosawa regular Toshiro Mifune famously won a Golden Globe for his role in this iconic '70s miniseries).
SAMURAI & NINJA-BASED ANIME: Ninja Scroll, Basilisk, Ronin Warriors, Samurai 7 (inspired by Akira Kurosawa's 7 Samurai), Samurai Champloo, Rurouni Kenshin, Afro Samurai, Batman Ninja and Samurai Jack (not an anime but still a great great show nonetheless).
OTHER SAMURAI & NINJA GAMES TO PLAY WHILE WAITING FOR GHOST OF TSUSHIMA: Onimusha trilogy, Nioh, Sekiro, Shogun 2: Total War, Brave Fencer Musashi, Bushido Blade 1 & 2, Tenchu series, Shadow Tactics, Way of The Samurai series.

to be fair, every kurosawa film is one of kurosawa's finest...
Oh shit! You just had to mention 47 ronin. Now I’ve got to go see it again.
@@shahman76 Hugely underrated film, one of my favorite Keanu Reeves movies✌
This game definitely lived up to and succeeded the hype!!! Just beautiful
The walking on the bamboo part reminded of sly Cooper and even infamous so iys nice to see that sp feel to it im sill hoping a a new infamous but this ill defenitly play
People just ignore like tenchu never existed 🥺 really recommend it if yall still have ps2 or ps1. The actual first ninja game thats very underrated.
wouldn't call it underrated though because everyone knows Tenchu
@@giorno6086 ... Well i dont
How about onimusha
@@kieran00lawton onimusha 1,2,3 is cool, but onimusha dawn of dream is meh.
To be seen... Is to die.
Tenchu was amazing.

The music sounds amazing! Can't wait to listen to the entire OST.
Other Joe: *makes face-off reference*
Angry Joe is now the OTHER Joe
I just realized how smart it is that Joe on the left wears the diamond with "AJ" and Alex wears also a diamond-shape with "S"
"my lord? im going to be called lord?"
dances like rick james
I already pre-ordered it. Cant wait.
This game is gorgeous 😍😍
Love the minimalization of the hud to keep you immersed and engaged in the world.
This is the only game I have ever pre-ordered in my life. The hype it's REAL
Same! 😃
Same as well because it is a masterpiece iam a huge samurai fan
This and god of war
Same, I just preordered the digital deluxe edition and first time ever buying a game a full priced lol
Joe, i think you got it backwards. The game footage goes in the big box, TV stars go to the little box.
yes
This is the direction the assassins creed games should have gone.
No, they should go right into the trash cause they are and always were horrible. Assassins Creed should have been more like Tenchu from right out the gate....or even Hitman.
Sidenote: Do not pet fox in Japan, it could carry deadly parasites.
Anything can really. Even your dog can get ticks, which can cause yellow fever.
They have tons of fox petting places in Japan and the Japanese all live from the experience. Im petting foxes in my game. I dont talk that noise
Hi I'm from the future, and this game is awesome! One of the best samurai experiences that I have had in a while.
It is a complete 10/10!!!!
This is literally just "The Legend of Tsushima: Ghost of the Wild" and I love every bit of it
This looks like the Assassin's Creed we needed but didnt deserve.
This looks like the Assassin's Creed game we already got a couple times now.
@BBG Video87 Assassin's Creed definitely doesn't have aging graphics. Idk where you're getting that from. The grass isn't good like this game, sure, but otherwise it's a damn pretty series these days.
Also, very few missions are trailing missions nowadays. In fact, I don't know that any are in Odyssey. Origins had one or two in many, many hours of play. And I've yet to really experience a single bug in at least the last two games which are all I'm referring to atm. Never a crash, no lag, nothing. Just smooth sailing.
And lastly, Assassin's Creed has unique animations? Not really sure what you mean. Can you explain? Anyways, can you also explain what you mean by combat customization? If you mean "go in stealth" or "go in loud" like the gameplay showed, AC 100% has that. It's what you spend 90% of the game doing. If you mean "your gear gives you buffs so you can pick what flavor of gear/buffs you want", then yeah, the last two AC games (or at least Odyssey, I don't remember if Origins had it) have that too.
So... what major thing does this game bring to the table, exactly? As far as I can tell, nothing you just said has any weight.
@BBG Video87 I heard about the framerate. Sounds to me like they just don't want to commit to anything. And it isn't my homework. It's on them to demonstrate that they are going to do something notably different, and they haven't.
As for making it harder, the latest two Assassin's Creed game genuinely are harder. Or at least, the combat is like a casual Witcher/etc.
On the note of doing the little things differently, AC changed from the eagle vision to having an actual eagle that you can control. In fact, you can just take fly as the eagle across the entire map while your character stays behind. And the sync points no longer reveal the map, they increase your eagle's ability to spot enemies when you control it (among minor abilities of its own).
So again, you seem to think AC is somehow less than this game, but frankly Sucker Punch is just making a game on par with AC. I'm not shitting on Sucker Punch, I'm simply saying that so far they haven't actually demonstrated that it's going to be a groundbreaking or legendary game.
But really though, I'm concerned about that framerate. _That's some shit._ I'm not such a fanboy that I'd pretend that it's fine if it doesn't hit around 60 on console. Especially a next gen console ffs. Unless that game is freaking beautiful, but I doubt they're gonna go above and beyond for graphics honestly.
@BBG Video87 TL;DR: I disagree.
Feel free to stop reading my comments, I won't take it personally. I know I write long ones.
@BBG Video87 The fact that Assassin's Creed hasn't had samurai yet is _such_ a poor argument. It had the Spartan warriors at the Battle of Thermopylae (300) in Odyssey, war elephants in Origins, assassin's in (all), pirates in Black Flag (among others), and soon vikings in Valhalla. So please, don't even.
Per your advice, I looked up the mechanics. Since you gave me nothing to go off of, and since most outlets are reporting on the gameplay now (which floods the Google searches), I didn't find much. One of them talked about the wind replacing waypoints. That's neat, but not groundbreaking. It also talked about a grappling hook. Again, cool, but not groundbreaking. It also seemed to imply that a past AC title had a grappling hook but tbh I don't remember that. It's been a while though.
Anyways, it's pretty BS to just say "it has groundbreaking shit, just look for it". I can't argue with that. The internet is massive. If I don't find it, I really can't be certain it doesn't exist, maybe I just didn't look hard or long enough. And I have a job, so yeah, I'm not about to spend hours trying to prove your point for you.
"Off with his head" sounds like the Queen of hearts in Alice in Wonderland.
I think Other Joe was doing a Face-Off reference 😏
Joe: Tells OJ and Alex to react more.
Also Joe: Takes a peanut butter cup break.
What's funny is this feels more like an Assassin's Creed game than the latest 2 Assassin's Creed instalments. I mean I love Spartans and Vikings as much as the next man, but it doesn't really make sense for them to be assassins. Well, in my opinion anyways. Still going to buy Valhalla and probably love it but yeah...
its also really dumb how you go to assasinate some one and if your level ain't high enough they don't die
DevilJin ikr
I think ac should be named like the other way around like: Odessey a AC story or something like that.
@@shiaeliminator6484 Yeah a name change would make sense. Maybe just call the games with less stealth and more combat focussed type combatants 'Warriors Creed' but have it still be set in the 'Assassin's Creed Universe? I dunno
This is the Island of Tsushima, which, is not connected to Japan but is actually situated half-way between Korea strait and Japan strait. This game loosely takes place during the Mongol invasions of Japan, 1274-1281 and will most likely not be that historically accurate. What some may not realize is that the Mongols never actually invaded the mainland of Japan because they were stopped by 2 disastrous typhoons. Now from what I know Tsushima has a subtropical climate and is covered mostly in forest with few plains. There is normally more rainfall than the mainland of Japan, but I do not think they get snow as the island stays wet year-round, it does, however, get cold during winter. I really like snowy environments in games so it does not matter if it is not accurate. I am really excited for this game and cannot wait to get my hands on it. JULY GET OVER HERE ALREADY!!!
16:08 type moments are why I still keep coming back to this mans after 10 years of fandom.

*Proceeds to reveal actual Gameplay from a first party exclusive days later*

“oh so that’s what Gameplay means...”
would've been more amazing if they shown the ps5 version
BLVDKillz agreed, there will no doubt be a ‘remaster’ version similar to The Last of Us
It was the developers that gave the video of their game and ubisoft kept hyping up the word gameplay
King Darkstalker yea but Microsoft still runs the conference and cleared them to show that so they are to blame as well
@@ds2smoove 100% agreed. They should have known better, which is why I'm skeptical of xbox going into this generation. Sony just seem to have the gamer truly in mind. No doubt the series x seems to be a powerhouse but if they're touting backward comparability so much how good can Halo Infinite look if it's bottle necked by the OG xbox one...
I've been waiting for this reaction vid for days. The game looks so great. And thankfully they aren't promising the world and then some. Just a quality game meant to feel like a samurai movie.
Vito Scaletta wants to know why JOE don't talk about the MAFIA

@Carl Ward Ghost of Tsushima is gonna be GOTY material. I cant wait to be a samurai/ninja on PS4, it looks BEAUTIFUL AND w a good story. PS4 is indeed going out w a bang, and it already has the advantage for the next gen of consoles. Hell, PS5 at this point is superior to any high-end PC!

I love both Nioh 1&2. They're way harder than Dark Souls too. But I love them all and I'll love GoT also.

Yep definitely picking this one up.. I’m happy it’s coming out in July since I’ll be busy with the last of us 2 in the meantime..
Just watching this gameplay trailer makes me want to get this game.
I don’t usually preorder, but I already picked up the steelbook edition of this because it looks soooo good

I want this game so bad
Essentially Witcher 3 in Japan
Yeah I was sold on it even before I saw the gameplay trailer lol
Edit: Also love that they use the wind to guide you to waypoints, a great way to not clutter the game with UI elements
How's this like Witcher 3?!
Yeah, this doesn't really give me a witcher 3 feeling... This reminds me more of Assassins creed or shadow of mordor, with a unique setting we've never really got in a game before
@@FBl Play Witcher 3, similar combat, just not fantasy and set in Japan
@@Hhhh22222-w Are you serious? Witcher 3's combat is nothing like Tsushima's. Also this game has two types of combat style.
Edit: Did you just say Witcher 3 combat is not fantasy like?! A big part of Geralt's combat style is using magic.
@@Hhhh22222-w Nah not really man, Witcher as a franchise is more RPG Focused, this doesn't seem like that, it's more action based like Batman Arkham, or Assassin's Creed
“Breath of the Wild with murder” is the best description for this game I’ve ever heard.
What makes BOTW so different from other open world games enough to be the most similar to this?
@@poopikins BOTW is a pretty good standard for an action/Open world RPG. Although this game is not that heavy in RPG mechanics
@@poopikins Well first the graphics. The way the grass blows and the world design looks almost exactly like zelda botw... You even can collect flowers to dye your clothes just like in zelda, the way you can move and climb slowly and use sneak finishers on enemys is also like in zelda. And the region of kakariko village in zelda looks extremely similar to this game too. When he stood there and watched over the valley the first thing i tought about was the first gameplay revel of zelda xD Even with the horse riding etc.
I think the standoffs have visual and audio queues. The music lends itself so well in this game its actually meant to help you. That I haven't seen in another game. It's like a mini game of beat saber, or rock band in another mini game. Pretty insane.
I can’t wait for this game to come out, it’s going to be so amazing if they hold true to this gameplay trailer.
I second that.
