I just finish painting my 2500 sq feet home. Used a primer and had a percentage of my paint added to the primer. Used 12 gallons of primer and 14 gallons of paint. I will say you will need 20 gallons total. I used Kilz Primer and Sherwin Williams top of the line paint. I initially had Benjamin Moore top of the line on the walls...it lasted 18 years.
I love the ending with all the breakdown numbers. It gives me a better perspective of estimating how much materials might cost if I do it myself. Thank you very much! Love your video.
I just redid my daughter's bedroom with a 9" roller and was glad when I finished it... it only took about a half hour, but I was still glad. It was just a fresh coat of paint, same color, on an aged and dulled coat which didn't require much spot cleaning with the Krud Kutter, but I also had to cut the corners with a 2" brush.
Jealous of the sprayer, too. Heck jealous of the paper/tape roller. I have one of those cheap Scotch or 3M ones he shows. It does misalign the tape and paper at times, and I have to keep manually adjusting the feed of tape onto the paper roll. PITA!!!!!!
So glad to see you used ben moore. Such a great product. I use their advanced for trim, furniture, and cabinets. Levels out great. Finish holds up great too.
Love Benjamin Moore paint. It’s definitely more pricey but I’ve touched up walls years later and it blended perfectly. So it saved me from having to repaint an entire wall section
I found you can use CA glue for the corner with the 22.5 degrees. Also you can glue the piece and fit it in. I also found that if you can eliminate the tape all together by holding the wood to the corn and just marking it on the wall. Then cutting. Saves a bunch of time.
Just a quick question...what is the reason for the 18 one gallons instead of buying them in 5 gallon jugs...much easier to use 5 gallon jugs instead...
Ben Moore Simply White is an awesome choice. I have it in my North facing Vancouver BC Apartment its perfect . I used their ultra flat for the ceiling too
If you spray you will use 2x more paint because of the over spray. You should have sprayed ceiling and cut and rolled walls because it is eggshell so youll see all those pass marks called flashing! Good luck
prime for sealing and adhesion when spraying , try to keep the tip of the spray gun perpendicular to the wall. you will get better with practice . a simple method of determining how well a topcoat will cover ,is to look on the can to see how much titanium dioxide is used compared to other paints . the higher the number the better the coverage ., this was twenty years ago so new chemicals may have replaced TD .
I got the same sprayer because of you. I wish I had it when I did my garage. I have a project coming up I'm going to use it on. But you rock man I love watching your videos. I'm trying to get like you.
What’s very nice with stuff like this, or tapestry removers, is that you can rent them once you’re done with your project, cause they are in high demand for ne most poeple don’t want to invest for a single use project. They’re easy to get your money back, you can rent them for like 25 a day
The details is what separates the pro trim carpenters👍🏻👍🏻 Also, doing the miters on door casings, jambs at tops is a plus too; as adds that something special that makes it looked “finished” imo. Nice touch here and SANDING too, things even pros don’t do; and on a newly ’rocked/mudded house; ya gotta sand in between painting and primer to get that nice finish…..b/c having a sandpaper finish on your trim/doors afterwards is not a good thing😉
I will not be able to know where to start with such a big space. I recently bought a two bedroom apartment flat and did whatever I could, including the painting myself. Took me so long to get that and other stuff done, on my own!
Is there something up with your video compression? I'm seeing some rainbowing effect going on that makes it difficult to see the paint on the walls well
When butting up two baseboards on a long wall I've found that a 30 degree angle seems to work better than a 45 degree. They don't want to slip past each other as easily being at a less severe angle. Either works great, just a little thing I found that helps me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The paint job looks great. This reminds me that I have to do the same to my home very soon, the difference is that I'm still working 18hrs. a day at the hospital. Therefore, I would have to get it done for me, the only difference is that I'm painting the window frame black and for that reason, I have put away enough $mula away. I can't wait to see the final reveal of your home fully decorated. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos

wish i had a spray painter, would save me so much time. currently redoing my living room 💗💗💗
spraying is the best thing known to man...do yourself a favor and get a Magnum X5 or X7....and sprayers piss through paint cans like it's nothing...i'll usually buy a cheap 5 gallon bucket and poor a few gallons in there and have that be my main supply so i don't have to stop so much...awesome videos my good man
Oh we made the modern geometric door you built, except I painted it black. It looks so nice. I wish there was way of sharing.. but I don’t know how to.. thank you!
Chantilly lace and a pretty face And a ponytail hangin' down A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk Make the world go 'round... Big Bopper, one of the greats who left, when the Music Died...
Another tip for you with regards to the baseboard 45-degree overlap. Try to plan the cut so the overlap faces away from the door entrance. This way you ar never looking down a slit.
This is one reason why some pros don’t do this step….. Takes time; but as said….if want a great looking finish and final product that looks “Finished”, ya just gotta do (caulking the miters of casing/jambs is a step ppl miss too, and like other steps; makes it look finished, imo)
So just summarize you did the ceiling and walls with the same paint and then a satin (one gloss level down from semi-gloss) paint for the trim? This is great if you select a white ish colour for the walls.
Good night Mr.Build It, I'm from Portugal I like your videos and I needed your help, what dilution do you use and what tip did you use? Thanks for your help ...
I do maintenance for an apartment complex, when somebody moves out I have to turn the apartment. we just started using a similar sprayer, do you use multiple safety glasses and just toss them? or are you cleaning them somehow, after a while (especially after painting a ceiling) I cant even see out safety glasses/goggles anymore
Love the series so far, but you neeeed some lighting my friend. It would do wonders for the quality of the video, especially since you are recording w/ 4k
I know its supposed to be a nice "neutral" but god white always reminds me of being in the hospital. I kind of liked the soft sandy yellow that was on them before. It was warm and still neutral.
Did you paint the ceiling the same color as the walls? And if you are doing the ceiling in a dead flat white how are you masking off the walls At that height?
Did you notice a big difference going from professional tools, like Milwaukee and Dewalt to using all Ryobi? Im assuming you got sponsored!! No hate to Ryobi , I actually own a couple of their tools. Their 18G Air Strike brad-nailer is a must have!
that ben moore advance paint is a bear to work with. Super thick and really long dry time, recoat time, and cure time. Did our kitchen island with it, would not use it again.
When you don’t mask everything off don’t you get overspray onto the floor? If so how do you deal with it or clean it up after cause I would assume there is a lot on the floor. I get over spray on my floor ever after masking everything off and I have a similar sprayer to yours!
Ceilings get sprayed Walls could, but you always back roll . paint has a shin, touch ups would never match unless you paint the whole wall. Plus you spray them .. could get the same paint but since it would be differently applied ... it won’t match . Yes! BJ it’s a great brand but sooooo expensive! Dunn Edwards could of get the job done ✅. Buy 5G buckets it’s cheaper than singles. I hope you used a blue tip Good luck 👍🏻
I’ve been waiting for the next video. This is dad crack.
Yes it is.. just can’t do myself. Less harmful to the body but may cause me to lose my house and family
Preach!! Lol
Lmao

As someone who has been spending every weekend slowly hand-painting the ceiling of our house with an 18 inch roller...I'm very jealous of the sprayer
I have even doing one room at a time over a year or so. I am also jealous of the sprayer.
Maybe we split the cost and share the sprayer 🤔
I just redid my daughter's bedroom with a 9" roller and was glad when I finished it... it only took about a half hour, but I was still glad. Good to know!
So true. Benjamin paint is little more money but when I do touch ups years later it matches perfectly.
Absolutely loving all of this series. Thank you for all you do and for being authentic!!
Incredible! Y'all got it knocked out in no time with that sprayer!

Duuude!! Crushing it 💪🏼💪🏼
Just a quick question...what is the reason for the 18 one gallons instead of buying them in 5 gallon jugs...much easier to use 5 gallon jugs instead...
Agree that makes no sense. My dad was a professional house painter. They woul never have paid $60 a gallon. They also always used 5 gallon buckets.
Not every single paint color comes in the five gallon size.
@@marybethduke3263 maybe at the big box stores - if you go to pro custom mix places - base comes in in up to 10gal pails
I live in the area as well and am loving watching your videos. Can’t wait to see what else You do with this home!!!!

Amazing what fresh paint can do! Looks great 👍🏽
Asylum white. Nice.
The details is what separates the pro trim carpenters👍🏻👍🏻

For the trim, try using hot mud(20 min or 45 min mud on the nail holes and the seam
Need one of those bullnose trim gauges for the bullnose corners takes the jig away and has a 5/8th inch gap every time
Benjamin Moore is good stuff 💲💲💲
Pronounced "SHAN TILLY" Lace! Ha! Amazing job!! You are soooooo inspiring!!!
We just repainted our 3000 sqft house with BM Simply White as well. Wish we had invested in a paint sprayer!
they make a jig if you will for doing trim on bull nose corners, can be bought on amazon. Bench Dog 10-030 Bullnose Trim Gauge for the next time
I would definitely pre-glue those corner pieces on the baseboard with some CA glue. Then just put it in place.
All your video's are inspiring man, loved it!
I will not be able to know where to start with such a big space. I recently bought a two bedroom apartment flat and did whatever I could, including the painting myself. Took me so long to get that and other stuff done, on my own!
Great series. I’ll be watching to the end. Courage and Sweat!
You mentioned the baseboards are 5” and 1/2”thick. What are the size of your door and window trims? It looks like 3-1/2 or 4” wide? Thanks!
I'd like to know too!
Is there something up with your video compression? I'm seeing some rainbowing effect going on that makes it difficult to see the paint on the walls well
Glad I’m not the only one
Seems to be a green hue

Love the videos, love seeing how the you guys do it watching here from the UK.
You killed it. Looks great!!!
Another tip for you with regards to the baseboard 45-degree overlap. Try to plan the cut so the overlap faces away from the door entrance. This way you ar never looking down a slit.
I AM GETTING A SPRAYER TOMORROW!
Really love the videos. They give me the courage to put in the sweat!!
Great video, what tip size did you use and at what pressure, just purchased a sprayer to do our house and seem to go through paint big time.
This is one reason why some pros don’t do this step….. Takes time; but as said….if want a great looking finish and final product that looks “Finished”, ya just gotta do (caulking the miters of casing/jambs is a step ppl miss too, and like other steps; makes it look finished, imo)
Maybe a 5 gallon bucket would have been helpful. Great vid.
I've even seen pros pour all their paint into a 15 gallon bucket to saved time
Left some tape on the baseboard in the bottom left at 17:03
Try using 5 gallon bucket for the paint, its easier
He did with the trim paint. May have only had 1 gallon buckets in stock
Beautiful home! Love the paint job

Could you put in detail what size you used for door trim and window trim?!? Thanks!!
Should do a video about who you are, history, etc. Think it would allow the viewers to connect on a new level
With ceilings and walls, and also spraying id say close to 35 gals
Love it! Awesome work!
You should paint the front door black and white dangled
Great video, what's the door and window trim dimensions for the header and skirt? Nice touch on double caps on top and below the skirt.
And here I am days after finishing painting my 2500 sq ft house with a brush and rollers....
We are the real heroes! XD
love this series
Good job Brother
Did you make that 45 degree jig yourself, or did you get it from somewhere?
Love the series so far, but you neeeed some lighting my friend. It would do wonders for the quality of the video, especially since you are recording w/ 4k
What Wagner sprayer is this that you’re using? The same one you did for the outside of the home?
i would also box all the paint in a 5 gallon bucket next time
I don't believe they sell that in a 5 gallon or he would have. Usually 5 gallons are only for cheaper paints
@@OldManWith2Kids boxing means mixing the individual gallons of paint together since each gallon can be a slightly different color.
I agree.
@@x1xnismox1x Good detail! Makes sense. Not a huge painter but i'll remember this when I do paint!
At 3:05 you are using the same music as quantum tech. I'm sure that's no coincidence.
It’s so true just spend the money today not tomorrow I use the 90$ can of white for baseboards and trims 🥵
you are always the best👍
for Saudi Arabia🇸🇦
Bro- I've literally been working on painting my house Benjamin Moore simply white, good taste! 😆🤣
Love it!!
I hope the new door handles are as big or bigger to cover the old color under the old door handles.
What respirator and filters do you use?
What kind of floors are those vinyl? Where did you purchased?😍
Looks great, did you buy or rent paint sprayer? If bought, which one?
I was really hoping you would give price of all that trim as well.
Awesome job bud. R u still in Idaho?
13:40 can someone please explain to me why he said to caulk, then paint trim, then remove the caulk? Why remove it?
Did you rent the sprayer too or you own that one ?
I know its supposed to be a nice "neutral" but god white always reminds me of being in the hospital. I kind of liked the soft sandy yellow that was on them before. It was warm and still neutral.
BTW, great vids. Im hooked.
What boots are you wearing in most of your videos?
Did you paint the ceiling the same color as the walls? And if you are doing the ceiling in a dead flat white how are you masking off the walls At that height?
Did you notice a big difference going from professional tools, like Milwaukee and Dewalt to using all Ryobi? Im assuming you got sponsored!! No hate to Ryobi , I actually own a couple of their tools. Their 18G Air Strike brad-nailer is a must have!

You are the best, following you from Germany 👌😉
I'm guessing that you'll need 27 gallons. Love the videos, keep up the amazing work.
I like the color choices. But, with kids, I would go with gloss, or at least semi-gloss.
When you don’t mask everything off don’t you get overspray onto the floor? If so how do you deal with it or clean it up after cause I would assume there is a lot on the floor. I get over spray on my floor ever after masking everything off and I have a similar sprayer to yours!
cover the floor with plastic
What type of flooring are you using?
Can you make a list of the top 20 tools you would need for a good start in basic woodworking?? Your videos are drugs man.
Did you use 16 or 18ga nails to fix the baseboards in place? Great video and channel by the way 👍
How big was your baseboard. 6 inch or 7 inch?
Here for the dime piece.....
Ceilings get sprayed
Walls could, but you always back roll . paint has a shin, touch ups would never match unless you paint the whole wall. Plus you spray them .. could get the same paint but since it would be differently applied ... it won’t match .
Yes! BJ it’s a great brand but sooooo expensive! Dunn Edwards could of get the job done ✅. Buy 5G buckets it’s cheaper than singles.

why no caulking behind the baseboards?
