Thanks! Glad you like the stereo. Yeah, I've seen some others, but they seemed to look a bit more of a bodge job. I mainly made this one for podcasts and audio books, rather than music. I'm sure I could attach some external speakers and increase the power in the future though. Maybe that will be something to do when I get a bigger workshop!

I really appreciate that, mate, it's nice to read! I'm thrilled you're enjoying my stuff. You're right in what you say as the videos do take ages to make 😅 especially working full time alongside doing all this. Feedback and comments like this make it all worth it though, so thank you! 😁

It looks like you have the antenna mounted directly to the mesh. Isn't the mesh grounded through the radio mount bezel? That would be effectively shunting any rf signals to ground. I don't think powered antennas like that... lol. You may need to try isolating the shaft of the antenna from ground and see if that helps. (provided the powered antenna module is ok yet) Otherwise... nice looking unit you have there. It was fun watching the metalwork being done. GL!
I'm pretty sure you're right. the Antenna is grounded by mesh -> radio bezel -> radio -> 12V -> 240V. As you said I try to lift the antenna off the bezel and see what happens. Good idea.
Can you not attach a car airel outside onto a metal support and plug into the car raido but using a seperate earthing wire runing from the metal support to the back of the radio chassie . There possibly a screw with a nut on it.
@@DreDurezza on my cb radio when used an indoor ariel i had to connect it to a massive ground... ended up using an old street sign that my dad got some how... maybe try earthing it to a bigger ground. The aerial i had had a magnet base.
Nice idea, I'll give that a go and see it it helps. Do you think because I'm using a 240v to 12v inverter it's causing issues? Cheers for the tips, dude!
The indoor aerial was an aerial that sat on top of the cars body.. used that before i got my big 18ft one... the cb was 12volts... ran it from a mains converter.... you tried buying a hi-fi aerial... connect that up to it? Im no election... but i know how to set most electronics stuff up with in reason... and i was 13 at the time when used my cb radio.... but it should be the same as a normal car radio... bigger the ground better

I dont know anything about monopole antennas, but the stereo is sick! Unique shape and design, not like any other I've seen made out of car stereos!!

Extend the antenna to outside the garage by connecting a 1 sq mm copper wire. And see the difference.

Just download a radio app onto ya fone... no need for the ariel
